A Full-Featured Lighweight Stroller
03/30/2014
I received a Walmart gift card to purchase an Urbini stroller in order to facilitate this review and all opinions are my own.
The Urbini Hummingbird certainly is light and fast, just as intended. Despite not being able to locate one in store and opting to order this stroller online, the wait was certainly worth it. It's stylish appeal and many great features make this affordable stroller stand out.
Assembly was super simple, and just requires a quick clicking-in of the wheels. Opening the stroller is simple too, and can be accomplished with one hand on the handle while pushing the slide button to open. Because this stroller is light, it's important to ensure it's open all the way by pushing on the arm bar or seat. Folding the stroller is just as easy as opening.
At under 7 pounds, stroller weight is a non-issue. The sturdy aluminum frame lends to it's lightweight design while still making it feel like a standard (non-umbrella) stroller. With my son I had a pretty heavy stroller to lug around town and in and out of my trunk. How I wish this stroller had existed back then!
There are many reasons I'd recommend this stroller. The handle bar height is perfect, and at 5'7 I'm not hunching over at all. It has a soft, comfortable grip too. I love that the arm bar is super flexible and yet still opens with the release button. The canopy comes down to a pretty decent level, and the unique method for reclining the seat is easy enough once figured out. I like that this stroller has a 5-point harness for optimal safety and I like that it glides rather quietly.
The Hummingbird has a modern look, with beautiful accent colors to choose from. I chose the peacock which is neutral enough for boys or girls. My only issue was that changing the shoulder strap position was not an easy process. I found it quite difficult to push the straps out from the backside. However, I love it enough in all the other ways above that this very innovative and forward-thinking stroller is one that I'd recommend for everyday errands and traveling alike.
+1point
