An Excellent Light-Weight Stroller
03/24/2014
I received a Walmart gift card to purchase an Urbini stroller in order to facilitate this review and all opinions are my own.
Ever since my daughter became old enough to use one, I've had a lightweight stroller stored in my trunk. They're my go-to choice for quick trips to the mall, as well as using in the airport or other occasions when a full-size stroller just didn't make sense.
On the last trip through the airport the umbrella stroller we'd been using sustained some damage. I've been looking to replace it and after looking online, decided the Urbini Hummingbird might be exactly what we needed. I liked the one-hand, self-stand feature, because I need to have one hand free at all times for my preschooler.
My husband, myself, and my daughter visited a local Walmart to check them out. After looking them over we decided to purchase one. There were two colors available - Lime and Raspberry Pink - and we let our daughter pick the color she wanted. She went with the lime!
This past weekend we ran to the mall to check out the stroller in action. The one-hand fold and unfold feature worked perfectly. You just slide the bar over with your thumb while squeezing the trigger under the handle with your fingers. It worked better than other strollers that claim one-hand fold that I've seen in the past.
The stroller is under 7 pounds and feels even lighter. I didn't have any problems with going up curbs, but it did seem to down the curbs a bit awkwardly. It probably will just take a bit of time to get used to.
The underside storage basket is very nice, too. I wish the basket lip in the back was just a bit higher, but it's not so low that you have to worry about things falling out.
+1point
