Terrible,Terrible,Terrible All the paint melted off the first time I used it. Went everywhere, even on food. DO NOT BUY!!. Otherthan that is was easy to put together and yes, it will cook 8 burgers if you want a fire. The vents on the sides of the bottom part of grill are there but NOT punched out so NO VENTS.

Review 2 for Backyard Grill 156-sq in Portable Charcoal Grill
Yes it is a perfect fit for the camper but it doesn't have enough airflow to make the charcoals stay hit or lit.. We tried 3 different times and it still doesn't keep the charcoals going even with the expensive charcoals .. Plus when you use it it leaves black stuff from in side the lid all over your food.. Gross

chip disaster

First of all, it is very shallow. On all pictures it looks a lot deeper. Also, it needs improvements like holes on the bottom for air intake. Without those holes the smoke fills up entire cavity and charcoals are fading out. The steel is extremely thin and painting is burning out. Overall, chip disaster.

Got this little grill for one of the camping trips. Assembled it at the campsite without any tools, fairly easy, thanks to the fly nuts. Maintains heat and cooks well. Easy to store as well. Not a great finish but it is just 10 bucks.

One fatal flaw

I purchased this at the store instead of online. As mentioned in a couple of the other reviews, the paint on the bottom melted/flaked with my first use, causing a small mess and a terrible smell. This is unfortunate, as the overall design and portability of this unit seemed very good and I was looking forward to using it on a regular basis for tailgating and camping trips. I returned it yesterday for a refund. The return process went very smoothly.

The instructions tell you to dry run it first. In other words burn some charcoal without any food to melt off any oils or germs from the factory.

SERIOUS FLAW! Paint melted off into flakes

I would give less than 1 star if that were an option. I like the idea of a portable grill. I was pretty psyched to get one for $10. Even more when I saw that most reviews were pretty good. My son (10 yrs old) could not wait to "fire up the grill". Helping me assemble it was easy and a fun project for him. I got the coals lit and came back to check on it. My son says "uhh mom...what's that?" There were little black flakes covering the table under the grill. I look underneath it and there is this big oval of paint just dropping off in flakes :^( That was the first "no". Then the coals wouldn't stay lit, that may just be the brand of coals though. All we did were hot dogs, so it was ok that it didn't fully bbq them, the heat from the coals was enough. Needless to say I am waiting for it to cool down right now so I can return it and get my money back to save for a REAL bbq that I can make burgers and steaks on!

Small and easy to assemble. I am a newbie when it comes to grilling, that's why i purchased this. Nevertheless, it worked perfectly fine. It gets the job done. Easy to clean and store after use. Good for 2-3 people. I definitely would recommend this product.

I was not sure it would meet my expectations....but it did! I love this little grill! I have been using it almost every day since I recieved it! I have a large grill as well, but I tend to use this little guy because it works better!! I have been telling all my friends to get one and some have already. You can't beat the price either!!

Purchased this because I did not want to haul a huge grill to tailgate. This grill did the job, very easy to put together. I also use this at my dorm it doesn't take too much space and it great to cook up to 8 burgers. I highly recommend this grill!
