I did a lot of research online and in stores. Before deciding which TV to purchase. My two final choices came down to this Sanyo 55" LCD DP55441 and the Vizio 55" 55EVLE or the Vizio 55EVL (early model) and for $300. difference in price I decided on this Sanyo. I am glad I did. Great Picture! not much on bells and whistles, But if you want those, Buy a blue ray player with WIFI and you got everything in this TV that you would have in the Vizio. for a lot less money.After all, that's Walmarts

After researching many options, choose the Sanyo 55".
For the price, you can't beat it.
I did not want WIFI or smart TV. I would noy use. Way pay for a feature and not use it.
Speakers/sound is OK, but I have it hooked up to a surround sound system so this did not matter to me.
I have not set up thru HDMI cable, just the multi plug. The picture is great this way.
Highly recommend this TV.

I bought my first Sanyo, a 47" LCD 1080i, in 2007 and at first we thought it was going bad but found out it was actually the cable itslef pixelating. This was our living room TV up until recently because we upgraded to the new Sanyo 55" LCD 1080i HD model. Both my kids have the 32" 720p in their rooms, one being 2yrs old the other a week so they are a little different, one a little more upgraded but both are great. The one thing I can't stand is the remotes look like they light up or glow but the don't! My 55" is actually has all black and grey buttons while two others have the big bulky square remote and the newest 32" has a nice little one. Other then that I have had no issues with any of these units and refuse to pay more for a bigger name brand just because it may have a few extra features. These sets always go on sale at Walmart and that's when I get them. If your looking for something nice, simple and reliable this brands for you.

I bought this tv because I thought the picture quality was better than the others. I got it home and the sound didn't work. I live 19 feet off the ground, and by myself, and now have to lug this tv back to WalMart. I called Sanyo, their customer support is no help. I should have known better...it's the 3rd Sanyo I've purchased that has had problems. Never again.

Picture is pretty good on the factory defaults but a little tweaking made it even better. Sound quality is a little tinny but a little more tweaking made it a lot better. Not happy with the remote because the buttons are not marked very well and are black on black but have the Direct TV remote which makes the channel and volume much easier to use.
Like the site to store option which saves a lot on shipping and handling.
Overall a pretty good deal for the price.

This tv was an awesome steal!! It came with a wall mount and together it was cheaper then most 55" tvs out there. It was easy to install and the directions were clear. The picture and sound quality are just fantastic. I am so glad that I found this tv!

Most of the reviews were talking about bad picture, bad sound and how to have the best settings for the TV. Well, forget manual settings or disks to adjust the settings.
My picture was horrible at first. But, I bought a HDMI cable (I did not read the instructions and connected the cable box via coax cable) and the picture could not be any better. I did not have to bother with anything else. The HDMI cable did the trick.
The sound on the other hand is another story. Get a sound bar. :)

My overall opinion of the TV is that it's a great value for the price. The sound quality is just above acceptable and I don't have surround sound nor do I feel the need. I was quite disappointed in the manual that accompanied the unit. The names for the various size/ratio are of no value and it's necessary to have two remotes handy if the correct ratio is desired. If it weren't for the connection of a DVD player, the startup would have taken no more than 5 minutes.
The mounting platform is a total joke. It's entirely unreliable even with a large screw through it into the table on which it sits. I bought the bundle with a wall mount, which I would recommend due to the weakness of the plastic base provided.

I purchased a refurbished one. Set it up, and blue lines running vertical. All the blacks were blue. I packed it up and returned it the next day. Thank you Walmart for the free shipping and easy return otherwise I would be upset.

We bought this item online and picked it up at the store. The box the TV was shipped in was damaged and the styrofoam support block were heavily damaged. We were concerned that the TV might have been damaged in shipment. After a month of use ,all appears to be okay.

I really liked the TV... I had a 42 inch and it was going out on me so i figured i would get me a new TV and i did not know what i wanted to get so i started looking at this TV ..I was not sure if i wanted to but this kind of TV because i have never really heard of a Sanyo brand Television before and i just took a chance kinda and after reading the reviews i said maybe it is a really good TV anyway i bought it and was very happy with what i got.The TV is a beautiful color,very nice picture and sound. shows nice football which i love to watch,and was in excellent condition and am happy that i went with this brand and this was a great TV for the price...

After experimenting with 3 different Sanyo brand televisions, and also other brands, AND REPLACING the satellite receiver TWICE, it is now apparent that DISH NETWORK does not play well with Sanyo brand televisions.
If you use pause, fast-fwd, reverse, or slow the screen will go blank fr 30 to 60 seconds.
Dish network has been informed, although they will probably not do anything about it.
