I BOUGHT ONE OF THESE ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND IT WOULDN'T TURN ON. WELL IT TURNS ON AND THEN RIGHT BACK OFF. I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT SO I TOOK IT BACK AND GOT ANOTHER ONE. GUESS WHAT IT WORKED THE FIRST TIME THEN BACK TO THE SAME OLD STUFF. I MESS WITH THIS THING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES EVERY MORNING TRYING TO GET IT TO STAY ON. ALSO IT DOES NOT HELP WITH THE FRIZZ AT ALL. IF ITS HUMID OUT ITS FRIZZY. MY CHEAP 15.00 STRAIGHTENER WORKED JUST AS GOOD AND I DIDNT HAVE TO FIGHT WITH IT. SAVE YOURSELF LOTS OF MONEY AND DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

After reading everyone's reviews, I was hesitant about buying this product but decided to anyway. I'm glad I did! I had NO PROBLEM with it turning off on me. It got really hot and best of all it took away the frizz from my very curly long hair.

Love the smoothness of this flat iron. Only 1 flaw - my hair keeps getting caught in the screw somewhere at the bottom of the plate. I lose 1 hair at a time. =D

This is the best Flat Iron I have used! I did a lot of research and this iron won! I was a little skeptical because I was always told that Chi was the best, but this iron works great at an amazing price! It heats up very fast and I can do my entire head in ten to fifteen minutes, which is great when I'm a hurry early in the morning! I would recommend this iron to anyone! Plus I love that it has a four year warranty!

I bought this for my 22 yr old daughter. She said it can pull your hair a little if your not careful. But overall, she really likes it. Her hair is long and she said she can di it in about half an hour, which for her is not bad.

Can I rate this more than 5 stars? No? Well just pretend it did. I love this straightener so much! I've had it for a few days and it works amazingly. Had a $200 Paul Mitchel before this one and it had to be turned up all the way (400) to get my hair even close to what this one does at 370. I have thick frizzy hair so this straightener immediately caught my attention. When my last straightener died I figured I would just go the cheap rout since everyone tells me the expensive ones aren't worth it , and I would just get a better one eventually but is exceeded my expectations. I love it! I get compliments all the time about how straight my hair is and I tell them about this wonderful device. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. The only negative thing I have to say about this is the site says audible something or other when it reaches your desired temperature but mine doesn't. I don't know if i didn't understand what it meant, if mine is defective, or if I missed something in the manual. But that really doesn't matter so I have no complaints. :) LOVE IT!

I am African American with mid-back length natural 4a hair. It only took me about an hour the straighten my hair. It worked great for me. I made my hair feel really soft and silky. I've only used it twice so far but I am really happy with it. It didn't give me any heat damage and it has all these extra features that more expensive straighteners don't have like the lock feature and the digital heat setting. I was originally planning on buying a Sedu or CHI but I didn't want to spend over $100 on something that might break in a year. I've never used either one but judging from the video reviews I've seen, this one gives pretty close results compared to them.

All the reviews told me that this product might have been the one I was waiting for. Reasonable price, and apparently perfect for my unruly wavy/curly hair. It does work fine, however, as I had to go over every piece of hair at least 3 times to get it straight, it took me 2 hours to finish. Other than the time, it really does work nicely.

I'm more then happy with my purchase. It flat irons my hair without my hair feeling or smelling burnt. I usually flat iron my hair with the 390 degrees setting. I don't have to flat iron my hair on a daily basis and it really minimizes frizz. I have also done a Brazilian keratin treatment and boy does this work wonders. I did my research before purchasing a good flat iron without hurting my pockets and I got the best deal from Walmart. I'm glad I have Remington S8510 in my possession.

This flat iron is the best one I've ever had...it keeps my wavy thick African American hair bone straight for at least two days (and I live in florida)...with my other flat irons it would be back wavy in a few hours. It leaves a beautiful shine on your hair and curls my hair beautifully. Not only would i recommend it, I am buying one for my little sister!

The best purchase I have ever made for a hair care product. I have spent hundreds of dollars and hours of research trying to find a frizz control solution. One use of this flat iron and I will never use anything else. Tip: make sure you use the correct setting for your hair type and you will not have frizz problems again. For the first time ever my hair stays sleek and smooth even when it is humid. Can't say enough about how great this flat iron is.

Beware!! If you have normal hair and just straighten it to get the frizz out this is not the straightner for you! After a week of use this straightner fried my hair!!! I had to make hair appt and have all my hair cut off! It should not heat up to 470...That is way to HOT!!

I bought this a few months back I had a bad experince w/ a body perm that FRIED my hair!! So I had to buy a Flat Iron and w/ all the different kinds this one caught my eye... So I bought it and loved it! It does a great job flat ironing my hair you can't even tell its been fried, it really smooths out all the frizz from the perm and that says alot about the Flat Iron that it can smooth out fried hair.

I had another Remington straightener for years, and it eventually died on me. I bought this as a replacement, and loved it even more! It doesn't take long to heat up, and you get temperature settings too. I always turn it to the hottest option because my hair is thick & doesn't straighten well. This one gets the job done, and fast! My hair never goes back to the wavy, inconsistent hair I have before I use it. It also adds a little shine to my hair too, which I love! There's also a lock on the straightener so when you're done with it, you can lock it (where the plates are touching) and don't have to worry about being burned. Works really well, and I still have it! Working with no problems and I've had it for about a year now!

I've had two chi flat irons and one Paul Mitchell. They've all only last a year or two! I didn't want to spend the $$ since I just purchased my Paul Mitchell 1.5 yrs ago! I have very long medium-thick hair. My bangs are frizzy and easily burned. This flat iron works fast and straightens on the first pass. I set the temp to 390 since my hair has a natural wave to it. The only reason(s) I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because the bottom of the flat iron is rounded instead of flat and it rocks around my countertop as I'm doing my hair and I'm afraid it'll fall and burn me. Also, the outside of the flat iron is very hot to the touch and if you try and straighten too large of an area, it'll catch your hair and pull it. Otherwise, I am impressed with the way this irons heats quickly and straightens my hair! I recommend you spray your hair with a heat protector because this flat iron is HOT!
