I bought this vacuum cleaner for its self-propelled feature, and it works well. Cleaning our cut-pile carpet is much easier than with the canister vacuum. I would recommend this product without hesitation.

After over 10 years of trouble free service my older Windtunnel Upright died. Well, actually the on/off switch would no longer work. I tried to find someone to fix it but all they wanted to do was sell me a very expensive vacuum from another company. So I bought the canister Windtunnel and i hate it. No sucking power (isn't that what it should do?) and HEAVY with the tiniest wheels on the bottom. It was like dragging a bag of cement around. Then I tried a bagless vacuum also a Hoover. HA! It created more dust in the air from emptying it than if I just not vacuumed. Don't buy a bagless vacuum!!! Period.
So I thought I'd give the WindTunnel Self-Propelled Upright w/bag another chance. I ordered it from Walmart online and it was delivered to my local store within the week. I've used it once and so far so good. And it actually sucks up the dirt. Even pulls up the carpet a bit. Now that's suction. Yes it is loud but with the quieter vacuums you sacrifice performance. It may be quieter but it won't suck. And isn't that what it's supposed to do.
I will follow up in 3 or 4 months. But I'm happy now. It really sucks!

Honestly, my primary concerns with making this purchase was the fact that it was NOT bagless and the self propelled feature. Now that I've had and used the vacuum for awhile I LOVE having a bag. You cannot imagine how much more stuff a bag holds than bagless. When I had a bagless, I'm not kidding, after I vacuumed I would have to empty the darn thing every single time (it was annoying). And the self propelled feature really works and thank God cuz that bad boy is heavy. But it works. It took a couple of times to get used to it but its sweet. And the suction on this vacuum is impressive. The bottom line is this, you get what you pay for. If you spend less than $100 for a vacuum be prepared for a mediocre performance. The Hoover WindTunnel is a good value. The reason I did not give this vacuum a 5 is the fact that the WindTunnel is VERY noisy. But of course its noisy. Thats why they call it the "WindTunnel" instead of the "Whisper"

We especially like the self propel feature of the Hoover Windtunnel since pushing and pulling the vacuum over thick carpeting is so much easier. We also like the strong suction. It picks up everything on our rugs next to the kitchen sink. Nothing else we tried would clean those rugs. This is our second Hoover Windtunnel and we are very pleased .

Not only is the self-propelled feature a plus; but, the vacuum is deep cleaning. I have an older one that I purchased many years ago and it is still working. I purchased this one for my parents and it is a perfect addition to the family! We are all happy with its performance. It came shipped to the home and the only thing to assemble was the handle, which was an easy project.

Very good product. Self-propelled feature great for those of us who are seniors. On/off button seems a little flimsy in comparison to our old Hoover. Noise level about that of most vacuum cleaners on the market----or those tried. Will rely on the Hoover reputation to cover those two items.

Just got it and it seems to run fine. Only issues is that the minor assembly written instructions were not helpful. And, there is not a very wide brush tool when using the hose. Nice long cord. Not too loud. No dust escaping. Picks up well but I've only done hard floors so far.

The sweeper itself is very nice. I was extremely disappointed that when it arrived the drive belt to self-propel it was unattached.... I have arthritic hands and it was too difficult for me to put back on, had to wait for family members to help me.. You do have to put the handle on it, but that was no problem. I think Hoover needs to do a better job packing it for shipping so belts do not have to be reattached...

This has been our 3rd Hoover Wind tunnel self propelled vacuum over the years. We have had 2 other brands of vacuums in the past 3 years for a change but have not been happy with them. We decided to go back to the Hoover. The self propelled aspect of the vacuum is a nice feature to make vacuuming easier on carpet. The suction is strong and works great on hard wood floors. I also like all the tools and ease of using them. It does use bags but I like them since I have allergies and there is very little mess and dust to change. The only problem is that it is still a vacuum and not a maid. If you have to clean your own home then I believe it's about the best on the market and price is reasonable.

Did a lot of research, ordered a high end vac and ended up returning it. I owned an earlier version of this Hoover Wind Tunnel and it lasted me 15+ years. I am happy I finally settled on this new updated version. I like the dirt finder light, and the ease of use. This vac is not too heavy or difficult to use. It is a great vacuume cleaner!

I had a manual Hoover Windtunnel for 10+ years and my son wanted it. Bought the self-propelled bagged for myself and my daughter wanted it. This is my 3rd Hoover and this one is still at home. Works great as an upright and very powerful when using the hose and attachments. Free shipping makes it well worth the price.

This vacuum does everything that needs to be done and more. I have two rescue cats that shed constantly so I have to vacuum/dust everyday. I had just finished vacuuming when my new Hoover arrived. Putting it together was a snap. I thought I would give it a test run and was amazed at the amount of cat hair and dust that my "older" vacuum had left behind and my new Hoover had picked up. The Hoover vacuum edge cleaner works extremely well cleaning the carpet right next to the baseboards. The only downside is it is noisey but not overly so. Walmart had the best price and delivery was fast and free. I'll admit I am very "picky" but I'm extremely satisfied with Hoover's performance and with my purchase. I will have no hesitation in making future purchases through Walmart's website.

I had a Wind Tunnel that wasn't self-propelled. I dreaded vacuuming, but now love it. It is a breeze. Seems to pickup very good, and I like the extra brush attachment that my other Wind Tunnel did not have.
