This camera, was just amazing. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe it. I bought it last year on Black Friday, and it just recently broke :( I dropped it and the lens got stuck. So if your a person like me, BE CAREFUL! But anyways, this camera had amazing focus, and all of the settings that it has are just amazing. I miss it sooo much! This camera is definitely worth it!

I love this! I am a mom of two and take pictures mostly of them and our family. It's very simple to use and has several options and features. I definitely like the video quality I am getting too! I got exactly what I was looking for and it is definitely worth the price. I just couldn't ask for more.

This camera was a replacement camera because my wife hated he old one. It's a great camera because everything is auto and all she has to do is point and shoot. Makes great pictures. Works great with blueray viewer and computer.

I've bought other well known brand cameras before this one and returned them because I was not happy about the quality of pictures. My camera before this was a Sony and it also took excellent pictures like this one. My friend is a photographer and his choice for a small digital camera is a Sony. I am very happy with my new Sony.

my wife likes the camera and i do more but she's upset because it doesn't have the black and white option or sepia. she really likes black and white pictures sometimes but i really like the panoramic shooting and the smile detection. im glad i got it for her. she used to and still does own kodaks and she keeps having problems with them so I wanted to spend a lil more to get a better one and it's worth the price.

This is the third DSC-H70 camera I purchased. I purchased my first one last Aug 2011 replaced my old 6.3 MP Kodak. I went to oversea visit my family. My niece liked it and I gave to her as souvernir. I bought second one after that. One my friend visited my family and also like it worked. I gave to her to replaced her old Kodak. I purchased this third one same model with price was up some. Compare with price and it performance, It is excellent easy use camera for everybody, nice picture with many options.

AFTER READING REVIEWS ON THE CAMERA WE PURCHASED ONE, WHICH WAS A BIG MISTAKE. FROM THE 1ST TIME WE USED IT, IT DIDN'T WORK RIGHT. SENT IT IN FOR REPAIR, EVEN UNDER WARRANTY WE HAD TO PAY FOR SHIPPING IT BACK FOR SERVICE. THE CAMERA WAS SENT BACK TO US SAYING IT WAS REPAIRED. WE USED IT WHEN IT CAME BACK, IT STILL DID NOT WORK RIGHT, THE SAME ORIGINAL PROBLEM. SENT IT BACK AGAIN WITH PICTURES OF EXAMPLES OF THE PROBLEM. AGAIN SONY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAMERA. MY HUSBAND HAS A CANNON HE USES FOR HUNTING AND FISHING, IT TAKES BEAUTIFUL PICTURES WITH OUT ANY PROBLEMS. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT YOU WILL REGRET IT!

I especially like the sweeping panorama mode. So easy to capture the beauty of nature. The intelligent mode really is smart!! Hasn't failed me yet and I'm a life long photographer. The rechargeable battery is long-lasting compared to Kodak Easy-Share, my last camera. Love the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H70. It recognizes smiles! Cool.

Nice pics but problems with video production

The camera is actually an indigo color (purplish-blue), and it depends on the light in which you view it. Not a bad color though. The indoor low-light pictures that we took (only 4) were great. Nice quality and crystal clear, using the automatic mode. We did not take any outdoor pictures.
Sadly, we lost our childrens' first piano recital because of the video format. It is MPEG-4 format, which works in Quicktime which makes it look like an old Godzilla movie where the piano playing video did not match the audio. Called Sony and got willing support. However, I wasted 2 hours upgrading Windows XP, installing an Update Rollup 2, and upgrading our Windows Media Player, which was supposed to make the videos work on our computer. However, it didn't work because of the codec. Sony had also told me that the videos would work in their PMB software, which was provided with the camera, but I didn't want to have to use PMB forever, or as long as I wanted to see the videos.
Downloading the pictures using the USB (provided) instead of the PMB software works very well.
Overall, I liked the camera. Didn't like the video format, because I didn't want to have to change my computer any further. I'd say, if your system will support MPEG-4 video, this is a worth while and inexpensive camera that takes great 16M pictures and can also do aperture and speed changes for advanced photographers.

I orderd this camara with walmart.com and was e-mailed it has shipped and to expect it in 48 hours. I checked daily and got it over a week passed the day it was orrginally to be delivered. I has a lot of options but when the moment is there point and shoot is about all you can do without loosing the shoot. I hope to get to be able to do more after learning it better.

Nice little camera but has no viewfinder so its very hard to see what you are taking in the bright light. I havent used all the funtions, just the point and shoot. It has a face focus mode which puts boxes all over the screan which is a bit annoying to me. The pictures look good on the camera but i havent loaded them yet on the computer.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this camera is to use. The menu is easy to understand and intuitive. The quality of video and sound that it records exceeds my expectations. I love my new camera. It's easy to operate, The settings are at your finger tips.
Whatever setting you want to choose is so easy to do. The menu has so many items to choose from to get that perfect picture. The zoom is So easy to use. If you want to delete a picture is very easy to do without deleting the rest of your pictures. Is compact & easy to bring anywhere you go. The memory card I brought works great with my Sony.
The pictures are easy to download. There is so many good & wonderful items with this camera. My 10 year old grand daughter took many pictures. They all came out great. The colors are so real. A great buy. This camera is good for anyone who is unsure if they will be able to take great pictures. All you have to do is aim & shoot. Has a great auto setting for those people who are afraid they will mess up. You will get the perfect picture each time. You will love the many setting this camera has to offer. Enjoy your camera, we do. I plan on buying another one for my daughter. We just love it!

I bought this new camera because our other camera was producing some pictures with faded color. I also wanted the 16.1 megapixels and the 10x zoom. I'm pleased with the clarity and color of my new photos. The enlosed manual has limited instructions, but there are more instructions on the PMB software. You take a picture by pressing half-way down on the button, then waiting for the green dot to appear, meaning it's focused and then pressing all the way down. A few of my pictures were blurry because I didn't do this properly. With practice, my pictures will get better. When I did everything right, the photographs were marvelous. It's easy to recharge the battery. I haven't used a lot of the options, but will learn more as time goes on. I tried the video function briefly and it works well. You can also transfer photos onto an alternate computer without using the PMB software that comes with the camera. All you need is the cable that is provided.

A brand you trust. I like that it does all the things I need and is still a compact size. The three selling points for me were the Megapixels, and the 3 inch display with as much zoom for the dollar! The fact that I didn't have to purchase it in a bundle, since I already had the case and memory card. It is very simple to operate.
