This home theater system came as part of a bundle package that included an RCA 55" LCD television. The DVD player was a nice feature, but higher volume levels left a lot to be desired. And less than a week after installation the remote wouldn't communicate with the home theater system. It wouldn't do anything. At first I changed the batteries, thinking that they were duds. That wasn't the case. And since the remote operates everything on the theater system, I was left with no choice to contact Walmart for a refund.

I bought this home Theater System as a bundle April 4, 2013 (with a Septre 42in TV, the TV is OK). The system comes with a subwoofer and 5 other speakers with long wires so the speakers can be positioned all over the room. After reading the manual and hooking up everything 2 of the speakers didnt work (straight out the box). I didnt mind that; I had enough speakers that I would not miss only 2. A month later only one of the speakers and the subwoofer works. I checked all of the wires for breaks or shorts and found nothing. I connected them to another system and they still didnt work. In addition to that the drawer DVD player will not open. Spend a little more money and get a quality Home Theather System.

The delivery time was outstanding. The order said 5-7 shipping days and we received it on a Sat by FedEx. We were ordering this system to take to WV where we have a cabin and were truly surprised that we received it so quick.

The DVD player did not work the second time I used it. I only kept the system because I had connected all my equipment and did not want to disconnect and then not have sound for my TV and bluray player and because it was bundled with my television purchase. Very disappointed in this RCA Home Theater System.

I do not recommend this product. It only worked for 4 months, then all we could get out of it was static. We were having to read the closed captioning in order to know what was happening in the movies.

The sound system quit working

I bought this DVD Player primarily for the surround sound (mistake). The system was lacking in some tuning capabilities. You can't adjust the tone on the individual speakers, but, I was ok with that. I had, and used, this system for almost exactly 90 days. The very next week the speakers started popping and crackling. That was a huge disappointment.
I returned the product.

Played a total of 2 movies in the dvd player now it won't open and 1 of my movies are stuck in it! I bought the extended warrenty but did not keep my boxes so am having trouble getting it fixed or replaced! Very disappointed in this RCA product!!!

No FM Antenna provided......unsatisfactory!

I'll be frank. This system may end up being adequate for my simple needs. It is very inexpensive, so perhaps I should not expect much.
But, the packed box does NOT provide a 75-ohm FM antenna, which is required to have ANY FM-radio reception, at all! This is simply unsatisfactory!
THERE IS NO MENTION, IN THE SALES LITERATURE, THAT A 75-OHM FM ANTENNA MUST BE PURCHASED, SEPARATELY, TO USE THE FM RADIO! I'm ANGRY at Walmart for selling this incomplete product!
The instructions mention a "pig-tail" antenna wire. There's an F-type female coaxial input for a 75-ohm antenna. The piece of wire provided in the box WILL NOT work!
What is needed is a standard FM dipole antenna with 300-ohm twin leads, and an F-type balun for the 75-ohm coaxial input. The TOTAL cost to provide these items would have been about $4.00 (maximum). But, this RCA product bamboozled the customer, and left him WITHOUT the capability to use the FM radio.
I will have to purchase these items, separately, if I want to use the FM radio.
Now, I could send this back, and ask for a refund, because the packed box is incomplete, but it's not worth it.

Simple and easy set up. Goes very well with the RCA tv bundle that Walmart is offering. It has very good sound quality and its very easy to operate. I love it. It looks like I paid a lot for it but I didn't and it does exactly what I bought it for. which is play movies with good sound quality. If you like simple things, this is the theater system for you.

Then when I call for it under warranty I was told I had to pay to send it back. So basically I have to pay because your product is faulty!!! Not a happy customer. Then I am told either they will fix it or ship a new one that is up to the technician but it will be 4-6weeks!!! Really again your product is bad and I have to wait 4-6 weeks to be able to use it…Just got it in December and its been not working for two moths so it worked for 8weeks and I have to wait 6 for another one that works. I will NEVER but RCA again, this is ridiculous.

I bought this as a bundle with 42" TV the thing they don't tell you is when you have it connected to the TV you only have half of the speakers working but with DVD you have all speakers working. Over all we love it even though you have to buy additional wires to complete connecting but so far it has been worth it. Did not use the AM/FM part yet just because didn't need it yet.
