I was expecting much more from Sony then what the delivered in the DCR-SX45. Very poor quality in general. Taking videos in doors, need to make sure you are burning a 100 watt bulb for lighting. Outside the LCD is useless. Can't see anything on the LCD due to glare from the sun. Records in MPEG-2 that explains the low quality. Will invest in a more expensive Canon Model.

Great camcorder execpt for the zoom. It says, in the manual it has stabilising features but its very shaky when zoomed in all the way. Hard to get a focused shoot. Otherwise its wonderful.

It does all it says it does but forgot to say how hard it is to see the screen in the daylight. I may be doing something wrong but I wish there was an eyepiece to look through instead of the screen.

I totally agree!! I spent a lot of time looking for some kind of hood to put on the screen. Could not find anything so when I am outdoors I basically point and HOPE!
