With a 42x optical zoom NIKKOR ED glass lens, an incredible world of optical power and versatility awaits you. Shoot from 24mm wide-angle then zoom to an amazing 1,000mm and capture distant images. The optical Vibration Reduction system minimizes the chance of blur while you take both photos and movies and the side zoom control provides easy access to the P510's powerful zoom capabilities. Switch on the built-in GPS feature and as you shoot, your files are geotagged and provide a visual travelogue that pinpoints latitude and longitude. Geotagged photo and movie files integrate with Nikon's my Picturetown photo sharing site, Google Earth and Nikon View NX2 software.

This is a great camera for the money. Best Camera I've yet owned. It has great zoom, and takes such beautiful photos. Tip:
To crop the picture, you have to zoom in to the picture you are wanting to crop, then press the Menu button, and then just click yes, and you will have a copy of the cropped picture, and the non cropped picture!

I have a similar Canon mega zoom lens camera, but the quality of the shots taken with the Nikon Coolpix P510 are sharper and more brilliant than the Canon, and I have been a Canon user for years.

Nikon out did themselves, very nice point and shoot, pics are sharp, zoom is excellent giving you lots of reach. Menus and dials are user friendly, easy to learn.

Have been searching cameras for quite sometime before i settled on this one and am happy with my purchase. It fit into my budget and takes quality pictures and video once u get used to working with it to get the best picture quality. Purchased a Sony Handycam before this and am very unsatisfied with the picture quality. Can't go wrong with a Nikon!!

This camera is everything it was said to be. I purchased it for my wife last Thanksgiving and she loves it. She has made some astounding pictures of deer that come into our yard. The zoom and resolution are great. It would be nice if a complete printed manual came with it.

Absolutely the best camera I've ever used. I've owned over 10 cameras over the years, and there is nothing that this camera is the best at among all those I've owned and used. I sold a Canon XTi and bought this and I feel sorry for the person that bought the Canon.

My friend recommended this camera to me right before I was leaving on vacation & after I seen pictures she had taken with hers I ran to Walmart & purchased it immediately. It takes beautiful clear photos! We took some video with it also & it did wonderful, in some other reviews it said it was difficult for video but we didn't have any problems what-so-ever they are perfect movies!

I went and bought the Nikon D1300 And Although I was completly satisfied with the quality of the images I didnt like the zoom at all. No big deal for close up photography such as portrait taking. But I need zoom! And it just was not cutting it. I took a leap and bought the Coolpix P510 "Amazing!" The picture quality is just as good as the DSLR! And the zoom is great! I recommend it over the D1300 for wildlife or even for mothers who need a good zoom to get those play pictures!

Has very nice features for a camera in this price range. Fits nice in your hand, no cramping like some of the smaller point and shoot cameras in this price range. Image quality I have experienced so far meets my expectations. I would say it is one or two steps below a full DSLR camera. Still is a very camera.

I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Nikon P510! This is an AWESOME camera! It has some DSLR features on it, like the manual setting, user setting, aperture setting, program setting. However, the one downfall is that I cannot leave my f-stop at 3.0 on the aperture setting. Nikon said there is no way to override it :(. I would LOVE to be able to consistently blur the background. But as an avid photographer who didn't want to upgrade to the DSLR cameras and buy all the lenses yet, this serves me great! Not only does it have a 42x zoom, but as I mentioned, it does have some DSLR capabilities on it. I do have the S8200 also and I love that camera too. But this camera is for my more "serious" photography. Either way, I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do! I wouldn't recommend this for beginners, unless you keep it all on the automatic settings. I'm still toying with all the settings. But oh so fun! :)

This is a great camera. Bought this as a Christmas gift and used it all holiday weekend and more. Takes great pictures and is easy to use. I bought this as a package gift with an sd card and a camera case by case logic. The case was so tight I didn't use it more than once because I didn't want to break the camera putting it into the case. I had to go and purchase another so I had a case for the camera.

I have been happier with this purchase than any other product that I can remember. I took it to a professional football game and my seats were in the endzone on the 2nd level. I was able to take pictures of fans in the opposite endzone. Wow! When the players were on the far 10 yard line, I was able to zoom in on their faces with helmets on. My original objective was to be able to take pictures of my kids at their school functions. This camera meets and exceeds all my expectations.

We bought this camera to take with us on vacation. It gives us the zoom we were looking for without having to change out the lens. The zoom when extended out completely takes a long time to focus, a tripod may help hold the camera steady in order for it to focus. But you can always bring the zoom in and still get a good picture.
