It does leak, it is very difficult to align the pot just right, but the worst part is that the coffee tastes horrible whatever I do .
I even ran vinegar and water and more water and more water, I spent the day just running water after the vinegar rinse. I have tried using bottled water to make the coffee. It is like it burns the coffee. I wish I had kept the box, I would return it.

Bought this due to high Consumer Reports rating. Got a great price at Walmart, and they had it in stock at my local store. Makes great coffee, flexible programming and options. Up to 12 cups is a plus. Only complaint is that it shuts off at 2 hours - would prefer the 4 hours that I had on my previous Braun coffeemaker.
Highly recommended.

My girl friend and I really liked the look of this Mr. Coffee but with in a month and a half it just quit working . When ever we tried to push the button to make coffee it would come on but would beep twice like it was finished and no coffee got made . We Exchanged it for another but after about the same amount of time the exact same thing occurred . One time is bad luck but the same thing over the same amount of time I consider a design flaw . I will not be buying a MR Coffee for awhile and will be writing them next . BTW Walmart was wonderful and exchanged the items with out a problem even though we failed to bring a receipt

This coffee maker makes great coffee! I purchased this coffee maker to replace one that wasn't working allt he time. I liked the fact that it is programmable and that I would be able to make the coffee stronger at the push of a button. The color is a very beautiful and vibrant red. I totally love the color of the coffee maker. It comes with a charcoal filter which lasts a month so you may decide to purchase more but don't need to as it is optional (if you use filtered water you don't need to use the filter). You still need to use filters too. There are options for you to make purchases from the company for more filters, perm basket, and thermal carafe. It's pretty great tho!

Although this is a great looking coffee maker, the hot plate only lasted 7 months. I used it daily in my office making one pot each day. The timer would shut it off after 2 hours which was a good feature. Just before it stopped, I heard a new sound and found the water boiling. Next day, it brewed okay but I found the hot plate was off. Next day it would not even brew.

I really like the look of my new coffee maker. Coffee is hot just how I like it. Has option to brew at regular or strong strength without having to use extra scoops of coffee if you like stronger coffee. Only downfall was that the clock does not light up, at least not on the one I received.
Shipping time was right on with Walmarts time frame and carton in perfect shape.

Can't find any fault in this product

I have only had this 3 days, but I think it is great. I have not found any issues with it, other than the power cord is rather short. But, this is not a show stopper. I do not spill any water/coffee while pouring or filling the reservoir. No coffee grinds get into the basket. I will admit that the controls can be a little confusing, but it doesn't take long to get used to. Honestly, I think all the people who have written bad reviews about this product never read the user manual, and are expecting too much for the price. I mean, really is it a big deal that the clock has no backlite?
For $5 I purchased a permanent filter to replace the paper filters. This makes it easier to put the coffee in and to manipulate the water filter, which is a nice feature, but not really necessary for me, as my water is not hard, but I use it anyway.
One final thing, I do not notice a "plastic" taste, as many reviewers have mentioned. I guess that's because I read the user manual and ran it through a cleaning cycle before using for the first time as the user manual indicates.
As for durability, I haven't had it long enough to know. But, for the price, even if I get a year out it, I feel I got my $ worth. I previously owned a Gavalia coffee maker and it barely lasted a year. That was a replacement for the first one that lasted only a few weeks. BTW, that "annoying" beep that some reviewers complained about is barley audible to me. I must be hard of hearing.

I received this as a gift. I thought it was really nice and brewed a good cup. 2 months later it broke and Mr. Coffee replaced it for free with a different model that, although more expensive, I just don't like. Not sure if there is any recourse.. too much trouble to bother trying again..

Purchased equivalent model, BVMC EHX33CP( now no longer offere)
2 years ago. Product worked OK for 2 years then started leaking from the bottom of the Unit. Called Mr.Coffee. They refused to honor Warranty. Clearly Mr.Coffe does not stand behind its product.

I have been using this coffee maker for 17 months and now the lights come on but doesn't brew. There is no heat now. Guess the heating element is designed to burn out shortly after about a year of service. I expected better from Mr.Coffee products.

Too much trouble than it's worth

I've only had this coffee maker for four months and I'm ready for another one. At times, the coffee has a bad taste. The machine itself has a smell of burning. I've also had many issues with it spilling coffee all over the counter if for some reason the filter is not completely placed right, which leads me to double check every time. It has recently started taking about 20 minutes to brew 10 cups of coffee, and sometimes won't even brew the full 10 cups. I set the timer each night, but every morning I'm wondering if I'm going to wake up to a mess, or am I even going to have coffee. (Mind you, this is sometimes at 4:30 in the morning). I would not buy this product.

I loved this coffee maker when I first got it and it worked wonderful. I've bought others for more money that did not last. Well, I've had this one for 6 months now and now it works terrible. The timer goes off a minute after the maker has been turned on, but it still brews. Now it's clogged and I've cleaned and cleaned it and it still won't work. Don't know what to buy next?

i bought this as a replacement to my old coffee maker. i love this one, i like the timer we can wake up to fresh brewed coffe, it is the only one i have found so far that keeps the coffee hot like i like it. i am very pleased with this one. if it ever quits i will replace with the same type one. you will be very pleased with it.

Excellent product for the money. Makes a delicious cup of HOT coffee. I really like the non stick warming plate as there is no burning. I use to purchase more expensive brands of coffee makers but they really did not make the coffee taste any better. Cleaning instructions for Mr. Coffee are easy and simple. Also, happy with the product design and color. I would definitely purchase another Mr. Coffee in the future. I hope Walmart will continue to carry the Mr. Coffee brand and more models.
