Horrible for boys

Like other reviewers have said, this potty chair is horrible for boys. The lip of the basin is too shallow and urine gets all over the floor under the potty unless his part (Walmart apparently thinks proper anatomical names are "sensitive" and can't be written) is directed just right.

Complete Failure in Design for Boys

Like the other reviewers said, the urine leaks underneath the padded seat and gets EVERYWHERE. I used it for 1 day and am already tossing it. Not only does it leak under the padded seat (which my sister said the princess version for girls has the same problem, btw) but the "leakguard": is so short that when my son starts unrinating, it just shoots straight over the top and all over the floor. Save your money and get a cheaper one that's designed with actual potty training in mind.

i got this potty for my 20 month old and i noticed that when he would sit by himself his "friend" would get caught on the splash guard so he would sit on it sideways. it seems a little small for a toddler. my son isn't big either hes skinny and average height. also there aren't any handles for him to hold on to to position himself. the car sound is actually pretty loud and annoying after pressing it several times in a row! i wish they would have put the button for it else where maybe as a handle?(its on the seat slightly off to the side) it says it would give an average and oval toilets, it doesn't fit my oval toilet! it snaps in but its very difficult and there is a gap and i wouldn't trust it to hold him. overall its ok i wouldn't buy it for a larger boy . Good luck!

terrible for little boys

They say in the description that this has been modified to solve the leaking problems, but the one I have is not very old, so unless they just changed it in the past month or so, it still leaks everywhere. The little cup on the front of the potty is useless and he just goes straight over the top of it. When he does aim down and actually make it into the bowl, it leaks between the seat and the bowl and gets all over the floor. I might as well just teach him to go on the floor since I have to clean it every time. The seat does come off and attach to a full size toilet, and I would think it would work great for that, but my son is scared of the big potty and won't sit on it.

Urine everywhere!

For a potty seat geared towards boys, urine leaks all over the place when my son urinates in it! The splash guard does not have any overlapping parts to prevent leakage, and it goes all underneath the guard seat, across the plastic to the inset ring around the outside, as well as all over the floor underneath! When my son uses this potty, which he LOVES because of the characters, I have to take apart the entire potty and clean it, as well as mopping my hardwood floors. He also has a Sesame Street Elmo potty in a different room and does not have the same problem with it. I am thinking of getting him a new potty for the hardwood rooms and retiring this one to use as an expensive stool! Don't waste your money on this one!

completely turned potty training around!!! :)

This is the only thing that even remotely sparked my son's interest in potty training. Before this potty, he absolutely refused to even attempt to use a potty. But, thankfully, he could not resist this one :). As far as the quality goes, I'm not an expert on potty chairs. My two older children didn't need one. You do need to be very consistent and thorough with cleaning in between uses because all the nooks and crannies this thing has is really good at hiding the errant sprinkles which can lead to odor. Other than that I can't think of a single complaint. Great purchase :)

I thought that this would be a great seat for my son to learn to potty train on, he loved it! He also loves cars so much, HOWEVER, I had to buy puppy pads to go under the seat because it leaks so bad underneath. There is nothing to prevent it from leaking, no lip on it to make it go in. Even on the toilet it goes on the floor. This thing isn't worth the money I paid for it. I mean it did get the job done, it was just a lot of hassle to clean up. As if you don't have enough to clean up potty training!! Hope this helps!

i bought this (total impulse buy) for my almost 2 year old, size of an almost 4 year old to start getting him used to the idea, and didn't even let him him try it. when i took his diaper off his butt was touching the back rim, and i had to push the front down to be behind the splash guard, and even then i think as soon as he would have gone it would have shot across the top. there's no way it would have ever worked when he learns to go to the potty all by himself. definitely do not recommend, unless maybe you're training a really small kid. after reading all the leaking reviews, i think i'm glad!

This product is so poorly designed. During potty training my son feels most comfortable sitting to urinate. Each time he dose this, urine gets underneath the padded seat and then drips down between the pot and seat, straight on the floor. A small mess is usually expected during potty training, but this makes a huge mess all over. I do not recommend it.

If it weren't for my children's love affair with Lightning McQueen, I would have tossed this in the garbage from the start. The underside of the contraption slips around on our floor so we had to buy additional grippers so that our children didn't slide across the floor as we were racing to get them on the potty before they had another accident all over the place during the training process. The rubber seat that lines the bowl will move on you if you don't set your child down just perfectly and you child will end up off kilter. As the seat turns both ways, we tried this potty with both our son and daughter, and you have to have both genders positioned perfectly on the potty or their urine will shoot out the front of the potty. Do not stand in front of the potty while your child is on it. Urine will also leak all over the lip of the trainer and under it so you essentially have to clean it top to bottom every single time your child uses it to make sure that you get all of the leaked urine when you are through with each trip to the potty. Make sure you have a lot of disinfectant spray and paper towels in the bathroom just for the potty clean up if you choose to use this potty. I have cleaned up more urine off the floor or the walls using this potty than when I just used a potty seat that I can put on top of our standard toilet seat. The sound part is cool, but once the kids figure out it's there, that also becomes a distraction to actually using the bathroom...I would definitely recommend you save the $20 something and the headache/frustration and get yourself a potty seat or some other training potty.

I read the reviews prior to purchasing this potty seat. Some reviews stated the leaking issue was resolved so we decided to try it. We wanted a potty with a soft seat so it wouldnt be uncomfortable and leave red marks on our sons bottom. My son loved this potty but after every use there was urine under the seat. We returned it and bought the Safety 1st potty seat. It isnt as cute but it has a soft seat and does NOT leak!

I would give this NO starts but it says I have to put one so I did. I purchased this for my 2 year old son to start potty training. When he urinates it goes in the potty but also on the floor under the potty. It is not designed for boys at all. I contacted the company and they sent me a new foam seat with an extended flange... Needless to say it was the same one that came with the potty. They would not issue my money back even though it makes a mess and my son is not able to use it. I would not waste your money. For $25.00 I could of bought two more packs of diapers and waited until I found a potty with good reviews, unfortunately my son was ready so I did not wait and bought one with characters that he loves. Only good thing about it is it makes noise :/
