Review 1 for Sylvania 9" Portable LCD TV, SRT902A
Nice Buy and Great Picture

I purchased this tv despite some of the negative reviews because they all centered around reception. I live in a suburban area and received most of the digital channels with the built in antenna. I picked up a cheap set of rabbit ears ($5 on ebay) and hooked it up to the included adapter. I immediately received the rest of the channels. Granted I might have to move the antenna to find the right spot, but I think the poor signal is more on the end of the tv stations. The picture quality and sound are great.

I wanted a portable tv to watch on the outside back porch. I bought one (different brand) and on channel scan it could only find 2 channels. So I returned it. I then found the Sylania SRT902A. The first time on scan it caught all the channels. This tv has a great picture quality, good sound, very good tv stand, and gets great reception off the air. I have not had a need to use the video inputs yet but i think that sould ok. To bad this tv is now very hard to find for sale online and in stores. I is worth the money. I bought two for me and two for my brother and sister-in-law.

I wanted access to a tv in a room without cable connections. Because of limited space this device was perfect for my needs. Only using the internal antenna, I am able to receive limited local stations with good picture quality.

This product will scan and when scanned again it will add to the list. I would given a five star rating but the picture is too dark and you can not lighten it up much. Also the TV that was delivered was not the same as the one on the internet. The speakers are on the rear at the botton, less volume.

We needed to replace a small tv in our bathroom (hey, you spend a good deal of time in there), and this one fit the bill. Picture and sound are decent for a tv of this size. Putting the stand together was the biggest challenge, and the manual is obviously written by someone who does not have English as a first language.

Would have given it a 5 star rating except the picture (even after using the brightest setting) is a bit darker than I'd like.
Easily hooked up to Cable TV cable after removing antenna & using the supplied adapter, which just snaps in. However, still had to use the cable company's small Digital Link Box, which is very small, so no big deal.

Nice TV, Poor picture!!

My wife wanted a small TV set-up on her computer desk. Found this one at Walmart. Looks nice, right size and all the options we needed. Unfortunately, the picture was too dark. Tried to adjust the brightness and contrast...no help. Picture still too dark. After about 2 weeks, my wife says "THAT'S ENOUGH", take it back. We had this TV hooked up to a Direct TV Receiver which works fine with other TVs. During that two weeks, using the remote control that came with the TV, when she turned on the TV the screen said "no signal". I had to rescan the channels to get it to work again. This happened 3 times. On the third time, rescanning would not find the channel 3 we use from the Direct TV Receiver. I must have tried rescanning at least 6 times. On the warrantee sheet, it says to call this number before returning the TV to the store. They have more operating instructions and troubleshooting procedures when you call. Well...why didn't they include this extra information with the TV?? Anyhow, I did not call the number, I did return the TV to Walmart and I would strongly not recommend buying this TV!!!

We are 45 +/- miles from the on air TV stations. In order to get a signal, we had to purchase an amplifier and antenna array. The programming and use are easy and direct. Overall it would be better purchased in you live closer to the signal source.

I used an antenna that is a high Dollar HD I use on my 40" HDTV, and was unable to get several main local channels. Otherwise, the picture is good, the menu and remote are easy to use, and I have used it on my job as a backup tv. I install satellite in homes, and sometimes need a tv when a customer hasn't completely moved into their home. However, this is not good for someone who needs a tv that uses antenna for their source of programming.

We expected it to work at our cabin, it does not pick up any channels. Works great connected to the antenna at home. We have a stronger antenna at our cabin and could not get any channels. We know there are channels available as we were using a digital converter box previous to this purchase. Now we have to go back to that method.

I bought this little t.v. to have when it storms and our electric is off. It has a great picture and is well worth the money. I get local channels on it but that is all I need to watch for the weather.

The unit is fantastic for size, it measures 6 x 10 inches without base which is included, has two A/V inputs, cable included, earphone jack, earphones included, digital antenna coax connector, included. The unit is no different from any other television of any size, it requires a digital television signal, from a satelite, from a cable box or an over the air digital antenna. The battery provides a few minutes in excess of three (3) hours and requires approximately the amount of time to fully recharge. HINT: unscrew the analog antenna, plug in the digital antenna pig tail which is included and you have a super small unit.

GREAT PICTURE

I'm very pleased with the picture quality, it's outstanding. I only get about 6 channels, but that's because of lack of signals in my area. I get the CBS and ABC networks, and a few local channels. That is satisfactory for me for my intended use.
I do recommend this item. Good price, has the largest size screen than any other portable tv, and I'm amazed of the picture quality.
Hope this is helpful.

I really don't use the TV tuner. I use it as a portable video monitor. No digital TV signals can be received with the packaged antenna, but that's not the reason I bought it. I like the included stand that allows quickly installation and removal of monitor. The interal battery feature allows me to take advantage of it's portability. Having 2 AV inputs is great as it allows me to connect to separate video sources. If you are buying this device to watch over the air TV, I would not recommend it. But if you are using as a monitor to connect video equipment, I highly recommend it.

Looked like a great TV. Wouldn't work in my town

This might be an excellent product, but it would not work in my town. I live 40 miles from the nearest TV station, and could not get a signal. I was extremely disappointed as I wanted a TV that would be available to me on power outages and to use on the patio. When I saw reviews from campers recommending the product, I thought it would work. I assume my town is more remote than some camp areas. I had to return the product for refund.

This is the second one that I own. The first one met an unfortunate demise: it accidentally fell into the sink and got wet. It actually worked for a few days and then died.
