I put it together and it was 1, 2, 3. The only thing I don't care for is that it is not attached to the bed. It is free standing.

Looks as I expected, though in my head it was a bit taller. Was a little surprised & disappointed in the butterfly wing thinness of the veneer. I used masking tape to hold a couple of pieced together while I secured them because I was putting it together on my own and when I took off the masking tape, a bit of the veneer came with it. Masking tape is supposed to be fairly harmless to most surfaces, right? Since it went in my pre-teen son's room, I wasn't too concerned about that. I would recommend it for a child's room.

Not stand alone headboard

I thought I could use this as a stand alone twin headboard for my 7 year old daughter. Upon receipt I discovered that it stands very low and will only work with the matching headboard. Disappointing. As a set it probably would be a great value.
