Midland weather radio was like what I expected. The set up was easy and the control or buttons on the radio are easy to access and use. Programmed my local counties for emergency alerts. So far we have not had any storms or needs for alerts, so still do not know if it will work when one is issued, but I also have no concerns that it will not work at the appropriate time. I did use the test option and it did work on the trial test. Look forward to this radio being very helpful to alert us, especially at night if asleep when storms are approaching. Thank you again.

Having one at work---thought it would be good to have one in our camper at the resort and we can program it for the area that we are in. Hopefully there won't be any bad storms, but if there is we would like to know what is coming. Reading the reviews on this product also helped us make a decision on which radio to purchase.

Easy to set up if you read the instructions. You can set up what alerts you want to know about, and there is a test that occurs periodically so you know everything is working as it should. We have had a severe thunderstorm come through since I bought the unit and it went off as you would hope.
I listen to the radio occasionally, which works fine on AM and FM, and I do not use it as an alarm clock.
This is exactly what I wanted.

The weather radio does everything I want it to do. My only criticism is that the LED readout is difficult to read, especially with aging eyes. Love the fact that I only need one clock/radio on my nightstand, but please make the clock easier to read! Other than that, you will not be disappointed by all the other features of this unit.

Of the midland weather radios, the wr-300 is the only one that allows you to select which alerts will sound the alarm. Nice if you don't want to be awakened for, say, a flood watch. I also wanted a clock-radio, so that I only have one device on the night stand. My only complaint would be that the programming is not very intuitive. You have to have the manual in hand to know how to program the functions. (But, I expected that from my experience with an older version of this product.) Also, so far I haven't figured out how to have the alarm actually turn on the radio, and not just a beeper. But, I suspect I simply haven't figured out the programming. As I stated, I have had a similar Midland wx radio for years. VERY dependable. Also, this works on batteries when the power is out.

This alarm/radio was nothing but a piece of junk. The ac cord was to short, the am radio did not work, one of the knobs fell off. Very disappointed and returned to the store the next day.

This does what it says. It does take some time to program but not real difficult. I don't use the alarm clock radio, I just bought it to warn us of bad weather without getting all the unwanted alarms. It responded appropriately when there were thunderstorm warnings in the area. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Setup is very frustrating - instructions in manual do not coincide with the product responses. I am quite disappointed in the AM/FM radio. I was so looking forward to having a digital radio so that I could precisely tune to stations and be able to 'memorize' my favorite stations. Unfortunately, the tuning is not very discriminating, to say the least. Example: 930 AM is one of the stations I like. However, it comes in from 880 to 990. This overrides 970, another favorite station. The weather stations and alert messages seem to function just fine. I believe I just may have gotten a lemon. I will return this unit to the store and purchase another in the hope that it will function better.
I spent over a week in contact with a Midland rep, but got no satisfaction. Her only solution was for me the send my unit to them, at my expense, and they would replace it. Otherwise, their answer was, "the weather portion works, what do you want?".

It works and sounds good. Best thing about it is you can set your Local County location around my county and receive only those Weather warning. That way I do not have to have the weather radio going off for areas that are out of my area.

almost every aspect of this device is exceptional but when i bought it,it was mainly for the alarm.however,you cannot turn it up or down which i need.needless to say,i sent it right back.im sure the other functions worked-didt have it long enough to find out.

We started out buying this radio for our daughter's birthday gift. We received it from site to store; tried it out and decided to keep it and ordered our daughter a second one. Love the radio. I ordered this from Walmart.. There were a lot of good reviews which I rely on when making a purchase. This did not work out for us.. I woke up to the tornado siren going off and a silent radio. Also the weather station was so static I could not hear. Maybe a different radio would have been my answer but did not want to chance it.

I am very pleased with this radio. I purchased it specifically because it had the ability to screen out alerts I didn't want to hear, and it had the ability to select alerts from multiple counties or just one.
I've had the radio for several weeks and it works wonderfully. I easily programmed the alerts I wanted to hear from my home county and I have already received weather warnings (but have yet to receive a single iceberg warning here in the South!). At all other times it is completely silent. I read reviews that the instructions were confusing or contained erroneous information. Midland has obviously revised the instructions because I had no problem setting up the alerts that I wanted.
I like the three lights that indicate advisories (green), watches (yellow), and warnings (red). They stay lit for the duration of the event (for example, if a thunderstorm watch is issued for the next two hours, the yellow light stays lit for the next two hours). If I happen to miss an alert, I can see from a glance at the lights that an alert has been issued, and I can review it right on the LCD screen.
The only weak feature is that the bright blue LCD screen, while attractive, is hard to read at times. The black LCD lettering is not dark enough.
I highly recommend this radio to anyone who wants a simple, but full featured weather radio.

We like the fact you just push a button and the weather report is there...haven't had any warnings or alerts to see if the system automatically comes on and alerts us...the weather
patterns have been changing so much, we feel more secure now that we have this to warn us

Highly recommend this product. I live in the SE region of the United States. This area has had frequent tornados that resulted in massive damage - This is a much needed product. It is programmed to come on, only if there is a threat of bad weather in the area in which you live. There were thunderstorms the afternoun that I had it programmed and it came on with a weather alert shortly after I got home. It can be used as a bedside alarm clock - just make sure you have batteries in it, for when the power goes out.
