This radio/CD player is not worth the money at all. I gave it to my daughter and the CD player broke very quickly. Terrible product!

Despite having read all the negative reviews, I bought this CD player thinking that my experience might somehow be different. Received it site to store, no problem. Plugged it in within hours of picking it up, all the CDs I tried in it worked. No problem. Then I turned it off and went to get my daughter to show her how to work it. Every CD I put into it just said "No" in the digital display, and it hasn't worked since. Radio reception was okay, but the sound quality of both the CD player and the radio were poor. Don't buy this. You're wasting your time.

I just received the Coby BoomBox today and can not believe the quality of the sound for such a small price. This is just what I needed. My old CD player had quit working properly and I missed being able to play some of my favorite CD's at home. I also was amazed that it actually picks up my hometown AM radio station with good clarity. Some of the other radios I have don't even do that. I also like the smaller size taking up little room. This is one of the best bargains I have purchased in a long time.

I bought this as a gift 4 months ago for my brother who lives in a group home. I gave it to him on June 23 and with in 3 weeks the CD player quit working. Unfortunately Walmart only takes returns on digital electronics for up to 15 days. Now I am out 25.00 and my brother no longer has the ability to listen to his CD's. Return policy and product is not worth it.

This CD player was defective. Made a clicking sound during CD play. Skipped on multiple CDs. Contacted Coby Tech support. They said it must be a defective product and to return it at my expense. Include a money order for their return postage and they would send me another one (probably just like the first!)
Luckily I bought from Walmart.com so I was able to return it to my local Walmart store for a refund.

I ordered 2 of these red boomboxes and 1 black of the same brand and make. The black one seems great so far, but both of the red ones have an issue with the volume control/ speakers. I use one in each of my kid's rooms at night to play a c.d. I will set the volume at a good level, then a little while later it gets a lot louder suddenly. I switched one with my kitchen one so I am using one of these red ones in there. The volume control is pretty worthless. It does not respond and all of a sudden it jumps to really loud. One also has issues playing cds it skips and will just get spinning the cd, but not playing at all. I have only had them for about 1 1/2 months, they should not be breaking already! Unfortunately I don't think that I can return them now so I am out the $ for both the boomboxes. Very dissapointing!

I was looking for an inexpensive CD player that could be put in my grandson's room for naptime lullabies. This was not the answer. I had to return this because the AC cord only worked intermittently. I ended up buying another brand in-store for about the same price.

I purchased four (site to store) for my singing organization. Two tested defective—skipped while playing CDs. Returned them to my local Walmart for replacement. No hassle, and didn't have to pay any return shipping. The two replacements work fine. In both shipments to me, the actual times enroute was 5-day faster than their posted shipping estimates.
This no-frill CD player does the job quite well. I suspect if it was sold directly in their stores, Walmart could never keep up with the demand. From now on, with the return guarantee, I'll check www.walmart.com before considering Amazon or any other website.

I wanted a small, cheap CD player for use in garden or when ear buds weren't a good idea. This is the right solution for me. I don't need an upscale player, just something that makes the time go easier and may encourage me to sing along, or even dance a bit. It's tough to find these small portable CD playyers.
