LETS JUST SAY MY CATS ARE VERY PICKY!!!! I had this when they were little years ago and they loved it, over the past year they have been scratching on stuff, and I bought 3 different cat scratchs and they would not use it. I finally remembered this and I look at our local walmart and all I could find was the refills. I asked and they do not sell the actual unit at our store. So I ordered it online, I would do this ten times over. The cats used it the minute I put it down.They completely destroyed it in 2 weeks, I have to buy refills.. So glad their done scratching on the rug.. would recommend to anyone.
***ONE TIP, PUT THE CAT NIP UNDER THE CARDBOARD CIRCLE BECAUSE IF YOU PUT IT ON TOP AND THE CAT CAN ACTUAL GET IT THEY WILL GO WILD, I HAVE HAD MY CAT PUT THEIR TOOTH THROUGH THERE LIP TWICE BEFORE YEARS AGO.
Cat nip under it gives just enough smell for them to use it and not go crazy..

I purchased one of these over 10 years ago, and several cats have used it for countless hours, trying to get the ball out of the toy. This product has saved me thousands of dollars as a scratcher. There are few things cats like to scratch more than cardboard. Amazingly the cardboard does last quite awhile because you can reverse the cardboard insert after one side has worn out; refills are available online and at most major pet stores. If you don't have one of these, get one when you can. Your cat will love you for it!

OMG! It was my cats playing with this toy. They never like anything. My youngest (2 years old) loves it and doesn't go a day without playing with it. My oldest (12 years old and 18 pounds) even swats it around a bit which is a miracle. My vet says he has to lose some weight and I bought it with him in mind. My third cat only liked it when I sprinkled it with catnip. Anyway I am happy with the purchase. I may even purchase some of the add-on pieces.

I think its excellent if your cat decides it to be. My cat is using the scratcher but has ignored the ball completely. I bought it for the purpose of being a scratcher so no loss there; only wish it was a little bit bigger but for the price its great.
Comes with Catnip and the ball is removable. I do recommend this product.

Based on the numerous high reviews read before purchase, I was indeed filled with excitement when this toy arrived. Unpacked it for my cat who played and inspected it thoroughly on the first day. On the second day, played on and off with it on the third day and seems to be playing less and less! With all the great reviews thought she would be addicted to it - WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!

Our 1 cat took to this immediately and the other a day or 2 but now they both just love this thing. I only put the catnip on the cardboard once, not sure if this helped them to like it or just the fun of batting the ball around.

My two cats love it, even my older one, the 2yr old goes over and bats the ball around and
lays on her side while she's batting the ball backwards and forward:)
They both use the scratcher pad rather than my cabinets or furniture; so that I love.
I have a post scratcher and neither one will touch it.
The only thing I should have done was order scratcher refill pads.

I was having a problem with my cat biting me when she was bored. Once I bought her more toys she could play with independently the problem stopped (well, almost). She loves this one. Sometimes she gently bats at the ball, other times she pounces on the whole thing. She doesn't use the scratch pad in the middle as much as i thought she would. Only negative about this toy is that it's kind of loud.

I always wondered how a cat could scratch something like this without pushing it across the floor so I thought upright scratching posts were the only solution. Couldn't have been more wrong ! All three of my cats love the turbo scratcher and it stays in one place while they scratch it. Quite often I find one of them standing on it. Buy it and you won't be disappointed !

Purchased this for my kitty since she is alone now and used to have 4 other playmates. I figured she needed more entertainment, since things have died down in our home. SHE LOVES It!!! My sister-in-law has one too, and her cat loves it also. That is where I first saw it, saw how much her cat enjoyed it. It's my cats new buddy! Couldn't be happier!!! I can't imagine any cat NOT liking it! =)

I have 3 cats, aged 8 months, 2 years, and 4 years. Over the years, I have wasted so much money on cat toys that they do not play with. However, all 3 of them LOVE this one. They don't really use it much for scratching as they have other scratchers, but the ball in the ring is constantly being played with. I didn't even have to put the catnip on it. May have to come back and get two more so they don't have to share.
