To early to give a more than fair rating on this item. We have only had it for less than one week. So far it is doing well and we hope it continues to serve our needs and expectations. For a more complete review it would better serve you to wait several weeks rather than just one, not smart of you to expect great things in such a short time. I never guess on how well things are going to work out...

I expected it to work a little faster as it had 200 more watts than my last one, but it doesn't. It is louder than I expected. I felt this was one of the better choices after reviewing other comments and recommendations on most websites. I like that it will hold a casserole dish. Overall it does a good job and does look nice.

I can't believe what I have been missing in micro cooking !! In just a few short week's of testing my replacement Genius of 30 year's - Inverter Turbo defrost is killer and not dry defrosting and FAST !! My cooking time is reduced by almost 40% and more moist then before.
I'm still learning but, so far i'm very happy with the popcorn button - sensor reheat - sensor cook & warm & defrosting (manual) to cooking ! Well worth the monies for a large size micro !!

Not for Popcorn

I have burned a lot of popcorn, since purchasing this microwave. I tried the popcorn setting, but it under cooked way too much. I then started using the power settings. I found that the power 7 was the best, the popcorn still wasn't like it should be. The other power settings would burn the bag before it even popped. Everything else on this microwave seemed to be good. I returned it this week, because I pop a lot of corn. The Sharp that I have had for 16 years, always popped perfect corn. This one is just not for me.

I researched several places and several models of microwaves before finding that this microwave met my requirements and just as important my price range. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was more beautiful than the pictures and actually was faster. Thank you Walmart for giving me value, efficiency and beauty all wrapped in one. Even though it has nothing to do with the microwave I was also surprised to have the microwave on my doorstep 3 days before the set delivery date.

Let me start off by saying that we researched microwaves through online reviews and went and got the Conumer Reports Buying Guide that included microwaves. This Panasonic was rated one of the top microwaves to buy. I don't know if it was the microwave or the store we bought it from, but we had to buy 3 in order to finally get one we could keep. The first microwave we bought at the store. The legs were so uneven that the unit rocked back and forth from back to front. We called Panasonic and were told that we put the legs on wrong. WE didn't put the legs on, they did. After not even having the unit for 24 hours nor using it, Panasonic told us that we would have to take it to a repair shop to get fixed. Again, we didn't even own the thing for a complete 24 hours. We called the service company and were told that it sounds like the unit was dropped so we took it back to the store we bought it from. I then ordered another one online. When that one came, it was also uneven so it rocked back and forth - just not as much as the first. Also, the door was not lined up properly. Back to the store we went with #2. After returning that one, I ordered #3, hoping the third time's the charm! It was delivered a couple days ago. We took it out of the box and put it on the counter and were happy to find that it sat there perfectly. We've only used it a couple times so far, but are very happy with it. Time will tell how happy we continue to be with it.

We've been using the Panasonic "Inverter" microwave oven for a couple of weeks and so far very pleased with it. I only rated Durability with a "average" rating because we haven't owned it long enough to know how durable it is. How can you rate durability without using the product for a few years?

This is a great microwave! Very happy with it! So I did make a little boo boo when buying this I didn't look at the size, it is HUGE! We use the box as toy for my daughter, the box alone fits a 2 year old and a 4 year old comfortably lol.

I bought my microwave 2 years ago and loved it at first but now I am looking for a new one already. the button doesn't work. I have to slam the door about more then 10 times to get it to work. not happy. will not buy this one again.

We've had this microwave just a couple of weeks but so far it's working fine. We refer to the manual to follow the recommended settings and what we've used it for has worked out without any issues. Our son has an earlier version of this model, has had it for a couple of years, and likes it just fine.

Broken beyond repair in less than a year

I purchased this microwave because it of it's size, the wattage, and because it tied into the looks of my remodeled kitchen (stainless/black). I cannot emphasize enough how poor the quality is of this product. With regular use, the opening / closing latch quit functioning in less than a year. My husband is a very handy guy and opened it up and repaired the latch several times, it was bent on the inside due to it being held in place by one screw and very thin metal. Eventually, he bought a replacement part and installed it. It also bent.
This may not seem like a bad issue but keep in mind that when the microwave fails to shut (due to the bent latch on the inside) the oven will not start. Not only that, but when the latch fails to shut properly, the interior oven light stays on. This bugs me as I am a person who regularly turns out the lights when I leave a room. To see this microwave on for days at a time (not to mention nonfunctional) kills me. I go by and open and slam it shut to see if I can get it to shut, this method works every few days, then someone uses it again and the latch won't engage again.
We have resorted to using a dorm room microwave (800 watts) that barely fits a plate of food, that is over 12 years old, which sits beneath this microwave. I have to admit, the cheapo dorm microwave is as reliable as they come, much better than this Panasonic.

We purchased this Panasonic micro wave to replace ours identical that is around 8 yrs old.
It is a little different but different in all the good ways.
My wife is still getting use to some of the updated features.
It is our 3rd one in 15 yrs, we give the old ones to our kids, one of which from 15 yrs ago is still working.

Purchased for the size & appearance. BIG MISTAKE, burns every bag of popcorn, tried all the setting for popcorn. Now the door will not latch when you close the door to use the microwave. Due to price, did not buy extended warranty. Walmart suggested I call Panasonic but have little faith in getting anything accomplished.

I've only been using this for a few weeks, but it's doing a good job so far. I'm used to big micros, but this one's really big...it's deep and the door's really long. It'll cook whatever you want it to.
I haven't tried cooking on less than high power yet so can't comment on the variable power, except to say I love the concept, it's a big part of the reason I chose this one.
It's good looking, but finger prints really show so I wipe it with vinegar every few days and it's back to good.
When I close the door it doesn't feel like it closes as solid as my last one because the door's light, but it closes ok, I think I just have to get used to the difference.
It's a lighter weight micro than average so it will move when you push the door opener if it's on a smooth surface. We solved that by cutting small squares of the rubber stuff you put under throw rugs to keep them from moving, and putting them under the rear legs.
All micros have their plusses and minuses, but this one has more plusses than any of the other big ones I'm aware of. It's a lot for the money. And I'm very glad I got this model with the digital buttons versus the one with the turn nob, because it's more precise, faster, and cleans easier.
I got the 2 year extended warranty they offered for $19 after reading some of the reviews where some had problems... cheap peace of mind.

This is a HUGE microwave that can be used for some very large items that wouldn't fit in my old .9 cubit foot one. The Sensor reheat is a great feature. I no longer have to guess how many minutes my food will take to reheat, the microwave takes care of that. The Inverter defrost is excellent. I no longer have cooked edges on foods taken directly from the freezer, as experienced with "regular" microwaves. The scrolling menu display is surprisingly good; it walks you through exactly what you need to do in order to thaw/reheat/cook an item. The only negative thing I have to say is that the stainless steel finish is on the front of the unit only. The rest of it has a silver steel paint finish. It still looks good, but is not stainless steel. However considering the price I paid, and what I got for my money, this microwave was still quite a bargain!
