Assembly directions were clear and concise. This desk is fairly sturdy, and the camlocks don't break apart when tightened like some I've encountered before on other products. The overall appearance of the desk is just as it is in the picture, and looks great in our office! The only reason I gave this desk 3 stars for features is that it would have been nice to have a built-in puck light over the monitor, or maybe a pencil drawer on the return top, but as they say, "you get what you pay for", and this desk is already a great value as-is!

Pretty Decent Desk, 11/06/2009
I watched this desk for a while before I decided to buy it, and was so excited when I got the email it was shipped to the Walmart near me. The pick up was really easy. Although the box was really heavy. You will not be able to get the full box in your house with out some help.
As soon as I got it home I started putting it together. As earlier reviews has mentioned, the directions are confusing. There were a lot of parts that I had to rearrange. But for the most part it was easy. It is good to have someone help you put it together. It just makes things easier to have someone hold the part while you screw in the nail. The one problem I had, and I almost sent the desk back, was the part where the CD's are supposed to go. I think that's parts 16 and 13. The holes were placed wrong, so the CD backing didn't fit when I tried to connect it to the rest of the desk. But what I did was leave part 16 out, and put the rest of the desk together, and then just slid the backing it into place. Its not screwed in, but it really doesn't make a difference because it's just the backing for the CD console. The desk is not made of strong wood. Seems to be made out of some plywood material. But it is strong enough to hold my laptop and printer. And it looks expensive even though its not. So I'm happy with the desk.

Gives more space and looks, 10/26/2009
This product meets expectations. Gives a lot of space to work simultaneously with both your lappy and paperwork esp. with the extension on the side. Fits in perfectly into the room. Only disadv: not much space to stow your books. But put an extra 10$ u get a rack for books at walmart.

Overall its a very good choice...

Beautiful but......, 09/16/2009
This desk is beautiful and the size is perfect. The desk was easy to put together. I read other reviews saying the instructions were confusing and that it was hard to put together. I didn't think so at all. I put it together by myself in about 2hrs.
But there were issues....
I realize the desk is quite inexpensive and I definitely wasn't expecting a solid wood piece of furniture. However, I do feel the quality of the parts are very low quality. I buy do-it-yourself, cheap furniture all the time and I have to say this desk is the worst quality thus far. Forget that many parts weren't labeled and that several "pre-drilled" holes weren't drilled at all, or that there were extras of some screws and not enough of others...the actual desk pieces are made from the cheapest particle board around. You have to be extremely careful and you have to pretty much leave screws a bit loose because if you tighten correctly, not overtighten, just secure it, the boards split. One side of the hutch split so I'm going to have to glew the broken piece on just for aesthetics.
Also, the side return is just "sitting" on the base because the screws came right out of the holes, again, because the particle board is so loosely packed that the screws don't hold.
All in all, the desk is great to look at. I usually agree with "you get what you pay for" but the quality of this is a total rip off. The way I see it, I bought the model for my future desk since I am going to have this desk model remade by a carpenter friend of mine because I just love the design and look.
