The electric smoker seems to impart a nice smoky flavor to the meats I have tried so far, however, if you don't pre-cook the meat (which I prefer not to do) plan on many hours of cooking/smoking time. Smoked chicken seems to be too dry and ribs, not very tender, but I have only used it 3 times, so far.
I have a large smoker/cooker and have cooked for 75 to 100+ people at a time with much better results, but I wanted something to use on the back porch. I would definatly recommend picking your unit up at the store, as the shipper wasn't very kind to mine, with many ugly dents in the stainless steel exterior, but it still seems to work okay.
