This 720p Viera model features a tuner that can receive conventional analog channels (NTSC), as well as digital channels (ATSC), including over-the-air HDTV broadcasts where available and unscrambled digital cable channels. Two HDMI inputs and a variety of other inputs make it simple to connect DVD players, camcorders, digital cameras, or even a computer. Includes an EZ Sync HDAVI remote control that can operate your other home theater components. Note: You must have a source of HD programming in order to take full advantage of an HDTV. Otherwise, the picture quality of an HDTV without an HD source may not be much better than a standard-definition TV. Please contact your local cable or satellite TV provider for details on how to upgrade to HD programming.

I was a bit hesitant to get a plasma, but this is one of the best TVs I've ever had the honor owning. Although the TV is 720p, it puts out 1080p to those movies or games that offer 1080p. Blu-Ray is beautiful and the HD channels look great also. On another note, those channels that aren't HD make a decent picture. The quality isn't as bad with some TVs especially those that are 50 inches or more. So far, I haven't had any issues with burn which plasma is notorious for. However, I don't make the habit of leaving the TV paused on a certain picture for long either. If you have Comcast cable, they even offer a screen saver as an option. All in all great quality, great price, very happy customer.

This TV is awesome. We previously bought a 42 inch plasma with 720p and after 6 months decided it needed to be bigger. I was told that at anything above 42 inches the picture from 720p and 1080p would be noticable. Not True this set has an excellent picture when hooked up with HDMI and Blue Ray player. I challenge you to see if you can notice the difference. None of my friends can they all think it is a magnificent picture.

After considering Sony I considered to buy this Panasonic for its delivery of Both Picture size and quality of jaw dropping image quaity. I hooked up my Sony Playstation 3 Blueray player with HDMI to receive the best possible picture and OMG I was amazed and blown away beyond all expectations. I do agree with another review and wish that at least two composite inputs were available instead of only one, though I am very happy with my television overall. I would of liked to of seen three HDMI inputs but then maybe I am asking too much since I only paid $898 for my television. This television only has 60 hertz technology and I did not see any gitter or hesitation with fast moving objects or sporting events. Once set up in my movie room I stepped back and said that is BIG!!!! Everyone that sees it is overwhelmed by the size (50 inches) and the amazing clarity of color presented, especially when Blu-Ray is displayed. I am very happy with my purchase and will enjoy for thousands of hours over it's lifetime.

We bought the last model at the Prairie du Chien store. In fact, it was the display model, so at least we knew it worked, right? They boxed it up and we brought it home. It was a little confusing to put together. You'll need at least two people to put it together, and three would be ideal. This thing is heavy and awkward until you set it up. Once it is secured to it's heavy base, then it isn't so bad. It seems very stable once put together. When we turned it on for the first time, we were taken back by how large this thing was in our living room. It seemed as though you could fall into the picture. Setup was easy and after a few minutes going through the various menus, we had it set up well. Just a note, this TV could use a few more standard connections on the back. It only has one standard connection on the back that you can either use an RCA plug or S-Video cable. The other such connection is under the front panel. Otherwise, you have to use the composite video connections (3 wire) or the high definition connections. The picture is great and glare is a minimum. We have this in a room that gets some morning sun and it isn't bad at all. In the evening, our lamp or overhead light is unnoticeable on the screen. Of course, it's not 1080, but the 720 resolution knocked our socks off compared to our old 32" standard definition television. The remote is large with big buttons and is well designed.

I purchased this Tv last January and the picture will make you say wow. Fios + this tv is amazing. I've had friends come over and think they are watching blue-ray. This is a great value for a little price and with the right equipement- wow. I love the automatic picture adjustment from DVD, HD, or any signal. The tv automatically fit the entire screen 24/7. For this price I calibrated, mounted, and Fios-ed this tv in my family room and it became our favorite entertainment spot.

I can't tell you how wonderful it was to order this product on line. Shipping was so reasonable and NO hassel. I didn't have to park, stand in line and most of all lift it as heavy as it was. The picture on this TV is spectacular. The color is crisp and as lifelike as you could imagine. Setup was extremely easy as was programming and learning its features. The sound is very clear and you would think the speakers are larger than they are. The only thing miising on this product is a PC port, but that was not a major consideration for us. We had considered many others (including SONY, Sharp and Vizio), but are more than satisfied we chose this. I HIGHLY recommend it.

If you want to enjoy your favorite shows plopped down in front of a new 50" plasma.... this Panasonic is the perfect one for you and your family! It was between this one and to 50" Sanyo... but with the clarity and color vibrancy of the Panasonic, it was a no brainer! If you find yourself at Walmart wondering if you'll love this in your home... YOU WILL! Buy the HD Cable (the cheapest one was around $28 at Walmart, it works fine no need to buy the more expensive one), you need it to hook up to your HD Cable box. The 2 year warranty is $150, and starts after the manufacturers, so your covered for 3 years total. We love our new TV!!!! So will you.
