This was for my 5yr old grandson. I hear from mom that it is pretty awesome. Mom loves that she can track his progress on her computer. He has been a gamer since about 2yrs., sothought that this will prepare him for school in the fall as well as some life lessons as he plays.

We have 4 grand kids (ages 3 - 9) that love to play with the Leapster 2. It sure keeps them from getting bored, even the oldest. I've noticed that the younger ones are picking up numbers, colors, spelling etc. They all seem to love it. I'm going to pick up another, so they don't argue over who's turn it is.

We bought this and got a great deal around the holidays. A couple of months ago, our screen stopped recognizing the stylus. I was bummed, and as it was mentioned in many reviews, I just assumed that's what happens at some point.

I bought this as a replacement. The first one lasted 3.5 years with lots of rough handling. I was psyched to find this at such a low price. All 3 of my kids enjoy the Leapster 2. You can buy cheap games for it at 5 Below.

My Granddaughter and I are having fun with the Leapster2. It is in the truck when I pick here up from Pre-K. It helps to build what she is learning in school. Plus give her a little down time because she is very active.

Purchased this for my duaghter and it only worked for one week. It will turn on but the screen will not let you make any selections. This now makes the second leapster we have had this issue with. Hope I will be able to get my money back from Wal-Mart as I purchased this on line, I have one unhappy little girl!!!

Do not buy this item. This is my second leapster, because the first one broke. It keeps reading no batteries, despite new ones. This newest Leapster lasted one week before the screen stopped recognizing the pen. Will attempt to return. I am very disappointed in the Leapster as a product and only bought the second one because I already had lots of useless games from the first one.

Do not buy this!!! I bought this at Walmart for my 4 year old for Christmas 2012. When I tried to download games from Leapfrog, I discovered they are no longer selling downloadable games or cartridges for this product. You can only download the free game that comes with it and access some very basic on line features. I was really disappointed. I can't believe Walmart is still selling this. If I could go back in time, I would buy the Leapster GS. Leapfrog has many cartridges and downloads for that system. If you buy the Leapster 2, you will not be able to download games and you will have a hard time finding game cartridges for sale.

Pricey to begin with. Then you need to spend MORE money($10-$35) per game or book. The free game that comes with is not that great. The coloring activity is nice. But spending $40 dollars for a glorified coloring book is not worth it. I wanted to load it with books and games. But each one is too pricey. It would take months to make it fun. I took ours back!
