From the first time I used this product-I was in LOVE!!! I wanted this flat iron to achieve multiple looks. So far, no complaints. This product performs really well and is easy to manage. And on top of that-all for a good price!!!... The only negative I have about this product is that it stats to cool down after awhile and you have to cut it off and turn it back on. At first, I was like," Ohh no, what's happening." But then I realized that it must have a sensor that automatically shuts it down when and if it gets too hot. But other than that, I LOOOVE THIS FLAT IRON!!!

Amazing- The Best Flat Iron Experience...

This review is well over-due because I've been using this flat iron (the same one) since 2009 and it's now 2013. When I say that this flat iron heats up extremely fast, it really does. You can literally see the heat coming from plates like steam. I used to use level 8, but with my 3B/3C thick, curly hair, I've increased the level to the max of 20 which gets my hair bone straight.
On days I need to just touch up my hair I'll use level 15, but 20 makes my hair look like I have a relaxer. No matter what level you use (1-20) this flat iron will suit your straightening needs because it will commence giving off heat within 30 seconds of turning it on. It also does not strip or pull hair strands- just a smooth, flat ironing experience. I will never use an expensive flat iron and will continue using the Andis line.
I use Fructis Flat Heat Protectant Flat Iron Spray which gives my hair great shine when using it with this flat iron.

This flat iron work beautiful. It heats up fast and gives a nice flat press. This is the second one I purchased. My daughter took the first one so i got another for my self. We have had the first one for over 2 years and it is still working.

Great Flat Iron for the price

I have been using this flat iron for about 6 years now. I have had to replace it every so often because I use it daily. I have tried other irons (most cost more too) only to find that they just don't work like this one. It heats up quick and stays hot. This is a great flat iron for price and I don't mind having to replace it every year or two. It used to be sold in stores, but now I can only find it online. Wish they would bring it back to the store! Definitely worth a try...I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed. However, don't expect it to last forever if you use it often/daily, as the coating on the plates will start to wear off and it does start to emit a "hot" smell when it's had it's share of use #typically around a year old#. But for the price it's cheap enough to replace every year. I say give it a try!

I purchased this iron from Walmart through the .com and waited about 1 week or so but it was worth it! This iron heats up fast (30 seconds) and stays hot throughout styling. It feels so nice in your hand ~ not cheap. For only $16.97 it was more than worth the wait; the price could not be beat. The iron shuts itself off in approx. 1 hour which is great also in case you foget. And it clamps shut when not in use or when traveling and I like that feature. Makes hair flat and shiny in no time at all; no repeat working of strands. Plus, it has a 5 year warranty so I liked that also. I would highly recommend this iron to anyone!

Great little iron. I use it to smooth hair, turn ends under and straighten-curve bangs. Can get very hot so be careful not to touch plates! It is just what I was looking for.

I love this flat iron. I've been using the andis brand since 2007. It is definitely the best flat iron & the price is even better. I like the 1/2 inch iron because I use it to curl my hair. I've had my last iron since 2008 so I'll be buying another one soon because the ceramic has come off. I also love the fact that there's an automatic shut off

I was excited to receive this product since the reviews were great. Once I received it I used it the very same day. I was so disappointed. I don't have curly Hair and it is usually real easy to straighten my Hair in seconds. This Product didn't do the Job at all.....I went over the first strand several times and it appeared to be straight...once I moved on to the third strand the first one already lost its shape completely. It usually takes me under 15 minutes to get my mid Hair length done....but with this product it took me forever and once I was done and went outside....within a half an hour my Hair started to look very frizzy and out of shape as if I had not done anything to it. Very Disappointing!!

I'm black/indian/creo with frizzy hair that doesn't stay straight very long after a flat iron.The product works pretty well definitely better than my last flat iron. Its been about 4 hours and my hair is still considerably straight. Best to use any flat iron with heat protection.I paired this product with Ultra Sheen Flat Iron Spray and my hair has bounce and straightens basically the first time through. I used the setting of 5 and below. Don't need a lot of heat on my hair but just enough to do the job anything above that's really kinda hot so be careful and know its not really necessary. I love how i have body, bounce and straight hair. For us ethnic women you can give it a try but pair it with heat protection and it should do just fine. Of course its not the best around but i like it. If your not of colored ethnicity you should be very satisfied with this product.

This is the FIRST product review I have ever written. I actually bought this Flat Iron for my daughter. We were on vacation & picking up a few things at Wal-Mart. The Andis was on sale and looked good for the price. I have an InStyler that cost me over $100, and a Flat Iron from Sally's Beauty Salon that was over $70. This under $20 dollar Andis is THE BEST of all. I let my daughter straighten my hair one day and was amazed. I have thick, course, naturally curly hair. She made it beautifully straight and shiny in well over half the time of my products. I have looked every where for one of these to call "mine"....and am THRILLED that it is carried on-line. It's so exceptional for the price and quality, I'm buying three...a back up for both my daughter and me!!!

I bought this straightener because it had good reviews and was relatively cheap. I was going out of town and did not want to take my nice straightener so I decided to buy this Andis flat iron. This flat iron snagged my hair like crazy and was pretty uncomfortable to straighten my hair. Not only that, your hair smells like burnt hair and my boyfriend noticed that the iron gave off an awful burning plastic smell. This is by far the worst cheap flat iron I have ever encountered!

I didn't have any problems with this iron. It's easy to use, the heat setting is simple, and I like the dial at the end that keeps it closed for storage. Great item for the price, like usual Andis has the best products.
