Upgrade the entertainment in your home with HDTV technology and Sony quality. I waited seven months for this to become available and have been rewared beyond my expectations. From the Site to Store experience to the ease of configuration at initial set up there have not been any disappointments. Others have mentioned the lag time at cold start up, but that is a small price to pay for energy efficiency. The qualities that I have come to expect from Sony are all present and this time at a more managable weight. Best of the Best.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this TV. Afterall, it is a Sony, and their quality is renowned. A couple of things are a little annoying, though. When turned on, it takes some time before the picture appears. And the sound is not what I feel it could be. But it is through the tv, and not a surround system, so perhaps that is to be expected. I have only just installed the tv, so I am still getting used to it. I do feel that I will be very happy with this purchase.

Great picture, good sound. I upgraded my 37" Samsung (which I liked) to the 40" Sony and boy the picture is noticeably better.
Lost the Samsung to a plastic sword strike by the 4 year-old, put a clear lexan shield (home made from the local hardware store stock) on the Sony, in case he has a memory lapse. Even with the extra plastic, it looks better.
Have cable, don't use the digital tuner or pip. I like all the available connections (cable HD, Wii HD, DVD Home Theater HD, PS2, Sling Catcher HD with room to spare)
Got the Bravia Home Theater bundle, not completely satisfied with the bundle deal.
The mounting holes on this TV are widely spaced. I had to replace the one for the Samsung with a new one.

This tv is great. Nice clear picture. The only thing I would change, when you turn on the tv it has a long delay, and finding out how to get your dv player o work was confusing. You have to use the input button. Was expecting to see a video channel. Overall this is a great buy for the price. Would reccomend it.

I may be biased because I went from a 27" to this Sony Bravia 40" but this is an amazing TV. I also have bought a Sony Bravia DVD Home Theater System. The two together are awesome. I haven't had time to watch an actual DVD on it yet but the DirecTV and XBOX 360 are great on it.

I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the standard picture on this 1080p. Standard looks a little grainy on some channels, but comes through just fine. And you aren't going to find a tv this good for the price anywhere else. If you are looking for a 40 inch LCD, Sony is the only way to go and this is the only place to buy it!
