i bought this fan for my new laptop so that it wouldn't get to hot. it was working great and then the fan just stopped working. i tried unplugging and plugging it in again and it still didn't work. i am very disappointed i have only had the fan a few months. there definitely should be and upgrade in the quality.

I've only had this product for 4 months and it's stopped working. It worked well in the beginning though... There are little clips that make it more elevated in the back, but if you don't want to use those, it's unbalanced since it's not flat. Not pleased. I would return it if i could...

Only took a week for one of the fan blades to break off and jam the entire fan unit. Up until that point, this did a great job keeping the laptop cool but if it's only going to last a week it's not worth purchasing. I am careful with my gear, so the failure was due to low quality, nothing else. Too bad.

This laptop cooler is nice but could have been built so that the stand doesn't fall. Overall this fan keeps my laptop cool, especially after a long days work with school, assignments, and projects. The fan is quiet and I'm able to convert this from the desk to my lap (that is with my legs spread a bit to allow the air to flow). Other than a couple small flaws I like this cooler. They also have this in black.

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now. No problems as such. Works well with my 15" laptop. This is my first cooling pad as such. So, don't know if it's better or worse than others. But, it's ok with my hp laptop.

I have owned this for about 3 months. I would say it increases my comp. speed by like 15%....its crazy good at keeping it cool. Here is the key factor in this product. It is made horrible. The fan is located next to the stand so every time you want to prop it up...bam nice little nick on your finger. It does sting and God-forbid a screw gets loose, you might have to turn up the tv so this monster doesn't out noise it. Considering the price tag this is only a quick fix. I repeat this is only a quick fix.

Ok, but some annoying design flaws,

While the cooling pad itself is great, it keeps my HP laptop running cool (and it usually runs really hot) there are a couple of design flaws with this cooling pad that gets annoying. For one, the "leg" that props it up at an angle is poorly designed. It doesn't stay in place and any movement will close it shut, causing the laptop to crash down with the pad. That wouldn't be a big deal if the pad itself was designed to be used without propping it up, but it's not. It does not lay flat, so you HAVE to prop it up or it wobbles like your laptop is sitting on top of a Topple game board. It's a pain to wrestle with it, and a laptop sitting on top of it and try to find the leg to prop it back up, without sticking your finger into the fan, causing it to stop for a bit. In fact, after about 3 months of use, the fan has started clicking, probably from me accidentally sticking my finger in it searching for the prop leg to prop it back up too much. The design flaw doesn't necessarily affect the cooling ability of the fan, but in terms of user friendliness, it's a pain and can definitely have been better designed. I'm half tempted to duct tape the prop leg in place, in hopes it'll stay put! Otherwise, this cooling pad would get a 5 star rating from me.

sent this to my daughter who went back to college, my old laptop always got too hot if you used it too long. sent her the laptop and this, and she says it works great. and is compact and light enough for her to take it and the laptop to her job to use. It is plastic but so far its sturdy enough to our laptop. also it can fit on your lap too, she sits in bed with it. keeps the laptop cool and doesn't slow down the computer at all.

Have had this cooling pad for a few weeks now. It's very quiet. So much so, at first I wondered whether it was working. But it does circulate air up under the laptop and my machine is running MUCH cooler. The incline is just right to relieve strain on my wrists, and the pad has neither collapsed nor has my laptop slipped down--it's very secure despite my tendency to lean quite heavily as I type. You MUST keep the cooling pad inclined to facilitate its fan's air intake. The pad's a perfect size for my 15-inch laptop, although I've yet to try it under my 17-incher. If it helps keep that heat hog this cool, then I'll certainly be purchasing another. The only drawback I see is this pad's lack of a passthrough USB port, so if your machine has limited USB ports that's something to consider.

This is the second Belkin pad I bought from Wal-Mart. The first one died after 8 months. I gave Belkin the benefit of the doubt, so I bought a second one. Six months later the new pad is humming loud, just as the first one did right before it died. When they work they work well but I think that for $29.99, which is what I paid for each of these, they should at least last 2 years. I would not recommend this pad.

When I first received this product, I thought it wouldn't do what I needed it to. I was pleasantly surprised. I had read that the plastic piece that raises it was flimsy, but mine seems to work just fine. It never falls on me. It keeps my laptop nice and cool and for the money that was spent, I feel like I made a wise choice. Definitely recommend for people who don't have a lot of money to spend.
