Therapure HEPA Air Purifier

We have been using this product for over 3 weeks and both my husband and I feel that it has greatly relieved our allergy problems. We have found the low and medium settings sufficient for us. We have very little congestion in the mornings and we have fewer allergy symptoms. The product was delivered on time, in fact earlier than we expected. Walmart personnel were efficient and helpful.

Much better then the ionizer I bought. Very good at cleaning the air and filtering out smoke and odors. I highly recommend this product above its comparators.

My husband has allergies and has really noticed an improvement since we bought this for our bedroom. We are planning to buy at least one more for the living room. On "low" it is noiseless. On "med" or "high," it makes a rather pleasant "white noise."
I would highly recommend this product.

The UV-C lamp is a gimmick. Yes UV-C lights kill germs but only when they cross the beam of light, which is small. You know what else kills germs? Lysol. It also does it more effectively than this thing will.

This purifier doesn't have much air intake. The intake side is fairly small so it's not grabbing a lot of air. It's basically a fan with a filter and a UV lamp. The only quiet speed setting is the low setting and it barely pulls any air in. You really have to have the unit on med or high for it to do anything. Also, it has a weird plastic smell. Maybe that wears off, but i'll never know because I took it back after 2 days.

I bought a Holmes HAP726 allergen remover. This thing is a beast. It pulls air pretty well, which is the whole point in an air purifier. It also has 4 speed settings. The lowest setting (which is fairly quiet) pulls more air than the highest setting on the Therapure 201. The intake on the Therapure could barely hold a piece of thin paper against it on high, the Holmes model has no problem with that on the lowest level.

The Holmes model is also a TRUE HEPA filter, which is important. The Therapure is a "hepa type" which is held to less standards than a true HEPA in regards to the size of the particles it can filter out.

Seriously, if you're going to spend $100 on an air purifier don't waste it on this model. Buy the Holmes HAP726. Also, I don't work for Holmes, I promise :).

Bought 2 purifiers of another brand at another store last year. They were sorta loud even on low and didn't seem to help. My dogs have allergies and so do I. I decided to try one of these. I could tell right away it worked great. Went out within the week and got another for my bedroom. I wakeup feeling great and allergy free pretty much. Dogs say it works too. Do think that the air should flow upward and rest of purifier to gather dust, ect from the front where the air flow comes from now. I figure it will be cold during the winter. Nice it has UV and is Energy Star!! Anyway, love it!!!!!!!!

My husband and I have an 18 month old little girl who has been suffering from allergies since she was about 8 months old. It seems lately she's gotten worse. Along with allergies, asthma and frequent ear infections you can imagine the amount of doctor's visits, trips to the pharmacy and sleepless nights we've experienced. Our Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor advised us to invest in an Air Purifier with a HEPA filter, and even though we didn't really think it would help, we tried it anyway. Since we plugged this miracle of a machine in my daughter has improved dramatically. Her runny nose is gone, her ear infections are gone, her itchy watery eyes, gone. The fact that she hasn't needed any type of medication since is also great. Now we have a happy, healthy and allergy symptom free little girl. She sleeps with it in her room at night, and we put it in our living room when we're hanging out in there. It's amazing how well this product works, and I'm so thankful we gave it a try. Apparently, children as young as this with allergies are especially sensitive to dust, mold, and dander, which is why it's highly reccommended. No matter how much you vaccume, sweep, mop, dust, and wash their bedding these allergens still are present, which this air purifier removes. The UV light which helps kill bacteria and viruses living in the air is just the icing on the cake, not to mention the gentle sound of the machine which blocks out noise from their room...FANTASTIC!!!

i bought this air filter in october 2008. used it only when needed. it stopped working for no reason after 5 months. i tried to find the info to contact the manufacturer. cannot find who makes it.

I purchased this product today and love the efficiency already. I can tell the difference and this
purifier has removed all terrible smell from my son's bedroom within an hour. It is easy to use and quieter than I thought.

I only wish if it had a timer, but I was lucky to find this at store instead of ordering on this web and waiting for another week.

The first one we got made a rattling noise like something was loose inside. We exchanged it and our new one is super quiet on low, so we keep it running all day. I see stuff collecting on the filter and love that I can just vacuum it off rather than having to buy replacement filters.
