I have only one gripe, and it's a minor one: I only wish CBS-Paramount had released the whole first season of this series in a single collection. On the other hand, it kept the price fairly reasonable to do it in two volumes. Either way, it brings back some great memories of a great show I watched all the time growing up. In the early 70s when I was in high school, my Friday nights were spent watching the whole ABC lineup: The Brady Bunch, Partridge Family, Room 222 (a show I hope will be coming soon on DVD), The Odd Couple and of course Love, American Style...and on to ABC's In Concert series and then over to NBC for The Midnight Special. No wonder they used to find me asleep on the couch early on Saturday mornings! This show was ground breaking for its time, some may find it a bit corny some 40 years later, but it was good for a lot of laughs in the many ways it looked at the institution of love & romance, with so many big names too: everyone from Paul Lynde to Davy Jones, Sonny & Cher, Adam West is even in at least one of these shows...and the series even gave us the pilots for not only Happy Days but Hanna-Barbera's great adult animated show Wait Till Your Father Gets Home! I'm anxious for season two to come out as soon as possible (some of my very favorite episodes were in that season). Thanks, CBS-Paramount, and thanks Wal-Mart...some great memories are very nicely restored here!
