Note: You must have a source of HD programming in order to take full advantage of an HDTV. Otherwise, the picture quality of an HDTV without an HD source may not be much better than that of a standard-definition TV. Please contact your local cable or satellite TV provider for details on how to upgrade to HD programming.

The Vizio has better contrast and distinctive pictures than we have ever had on a TV. We are thoroughly satisfied with our Vizio

Very good picture and quality. The only problem I found was on the back panel it's hard to plug in cables. You can't see them well unless you turn it upside down.

I bought this model in Jan.09 and put it in the Master Bedroom. I had to do some wiring to bring the cable into the bedroom so I actually didnt use the TV until the end of March. As I was watching it one night during the last week in May it just turned off and would not come back on. Visio contracts with another company to do their warranty work and it has been a big hassle with dozens of phone calls, both to Vizio and to ITI their contractor. This TV had less than 20 hours on it. I would not buy another Visio TV.

I like it's features, ease of set up and very easy to use. Picture quality is great. Only regret I have is being ignorant that it's not 1080p compatible, next time. Great product over all if your not into gaming like I am and don't need to have the latest and greatest products.

This TV was a horrid purchase. The color is terrible. When we called tech help to see if it was just a problem with adjusting the balance, they said "colors look different to everyone, it is probably just you." My response "What color is Sponge Bob? Because on this TV 5 adults and 4 children all agree he is green and the grass is blue." They did offer to send us a part if we would email them pictures of the problem.. They had no answer when asked who would install the part so the warranty would not be violated. I returned the TV as fast as I could and spent the extra $200 to get a model that actually has the capability of a YELLOW Sponge Bob AND green grass at the same time! (Also; the TV was never tipped, tilted, or placed on its side by us... what happened while still at the store I do not know. I will add that of the 5 adults who tried to fix the color 3 are technicians that adjust TV and monitor colors for a living.)

I've read reviews saying the screen went black and there was a loud humming noise. Well ours did that straight out of the box. Within a hour and a half of picking it up i was back a walmart exchanging it for a sanyo 42 inch 1080 lcd tv. They gave me the new model i hooked it up and it works perfect.

A great TV! Remote simple easy to use, not a gazillion buttons that you never use. Menu easy too. Specs say 2 component inputs, this is really 1 component + 1 composite (yellow RCA jack), I wanted 2 components but turns out they are analog inputs anyway and the picture is not as good as it is capable of with it's digital HDMI (3) inputs which are excellent. I've had it a week, very happy with TV, however it emits a LOT of heat, (will be good in the winter time). Manual says < 1w of power in standby mode. Everyone seems to want LCD, plasma far better, more realistic, natural picture. My over the air DTV is excellent also with built in tuner.

I impulse shopped when I saw this television advsertised online. I loved the price and specs, so I ordered it. I then started feeling scared, because I've never purchased a large item before online- and was worried of the condition it would be received. Glad to say, it arrived it perfect condition, it looks even better than I expected. It makes my living room look like I remodeled- EXCELLENT PICTURE!! My father is now hinting around about wanting one for Father's Day...

I bought this TV online about 2 months ago. I have Direct TV with HD. The picture is wonderful but the sound is horrible. Most channels I have to turn the volume up to 90 or above to hear, then the commercials come on blaring at me....there is no consistency in the sound. Some channels are heard fine set at 40 but most have to be set at full volume, 90 or above, to hear anything. I've tried adjusting all the settings but it makes no difference. Have no idea what the solution to the problem is.... Would recommend it for the picture but beware of the sound.....it's very frustarating because it's so inconsistent.

I'm extremely satisfied with this plasma TV. LCD just doesn't compare. It's being used as the TV in the master bedroom, and it's a great value.
It did need some major adjustments with the picture (color, brightness, contrast, etc) as it was set on absolute torch mode out of the box with really off coloring. After the adjustments, it looks fantastic (pretty close in quality to my Panasonic Plasma).
The sound quality is pretty much as expected from the on board speakers. If you're after a theater experience, you'll need some sort of external speakers. It works fine for the casual TV viewing experience.
It's a little light on features, which is to be expected from this "value" type of TV, but there's nothing missing I'd consider to be a must have.
Overall, I'd say it's a great value for its price and makes an outstanding TV for a bedroom, small living room, or other less critical spot for regular TV viewing. If you're after a true Home Theater experience, I'd suggest going bigger with at least a 50" and stepping up to 1080p.

overall I liked this TV but the heat that this puts off is amazing. Called Vizeo and they state this is common for plasma tv's. But i can only keep my hand on the top of the set for about 10 seconds before it starts to burn.
Speakers are very small therefore you need to have an alternate audio hooked up.

I did a lot of in-store and online comparisons, looking for a good quality Plasma or LCD large screen and not wanting to spend more than $700-800. That low price range obviously limited choices considerably. I got the Vizio 42" plasma through the Walmart on-line site for about $700 and in the few weeks we have had it, are very pleased with the high quality picture it provides. Other TV's at Best Buy, or Paul's TV or Howards, etc., etc. were all at least several hundred more $ to get comparable features and performance.

This was a great plasma tv purchase for me. I read a few reviews where ppl complained about this tv. I even seen a customer returning one the other day. Believe me i am one whom will read reviews and check products thoroughly before purchasing anything.
I find this plasma to be just right for me. I have great picture quality with/wo HD turned on. I find it excellent in HDMI mode. The clean screen option really helps clear any burn-in. One thing i will advise be sure to add a power strip so you can power off the tv when not in use. In standby mode this tv still drains a lot of electric. Other than that BUY IT!
