I am extremely satisfied with this product. I put hot soup in it at 7:00 am, but did not get a chance to eat it, but when I emptied it at 7:30 pm that evening, to say the least I was surprised. It was still piping hot. I have tried several different thermos, glass, plastic, and stainless steel, and the Stanley Bolt outperformed them all. If I had 1 suggestion to make, it would be for a food jar twice the size of the food jar with a wide mouth. Thanks,,,,,Hoopcat

This works exactly how it says it will. I pour my boiling water in it close it up, leave it for 5-10 min, while gettin the food ready. Pour the food in at 6:30 AM and at 4:30 PM when he gets home from work the food that may be left in it is still warm enough to eat. I have to buy 2 more for the kids for school.....can't seem to keep enough on hand. They even wash up in the dishwasher on the TOP rack only great.

I was pleased with this product overall. It does not keep the soup boiling hot but after 5 hours it is still warm enough to eat. I would not recommend keeping food in the container over 6 hours.

I read many reviews before choosing a food jar. Many were cheaper and some were more expensive. I fill my jar with boiling water the night before and after heating my lunch the next morning I empty the water and fill the food jar with the food (so far soups, chili, pasta, beef stew). I usually eat my lunch about 8-10 hours later and it is always to hot to eat:) I usually have to let it cool or blow on it, but I like my food hot so it is fine with me. It is by far the best food jar I have ever used. It seems to be durable and the handle keeps it from rolling around in my jeep.

Soup added steaming hot at 7am was still very hot at noon. Boiling water was poured into the food jar and allowed 5-10 min to warm it before the water was emptied and the soup - brought to a near boil - was promptly poured in. The temp was checked and lo and behold, it was 140 degrees...a safe temp to hold hot foods.
