I bought this gate because I didnt want my son in my kitchen, I have another gate similar but this one was a bit cheaper. After about 6 months of use one side of the gate wouldnt latch closed. My son grabbed onto the gate and the gate swung open and he fell into the kitchen. NOT WHAT I WOULD CALL A GOOD QUALITY GATE FOR CHILDREN! The only good thing I would say about the gate is that it opens both ways. The other gate I have only opens one way but I have had it for over a year now and have had no probelms what so ever with it. The plasitc on this gate is very cheaply made, and the latches arent very good either. If your looking for a great baby gate you need to get the North States Auto Close Metal Gate. It only opens one way but its a great gate.

This is a good gate however if you have fancy base boards beware, since this gate is designed to sit on the floor the bottom set of pressure mounts rested against the rounded part of our baseboards. The top of the gate fit tight like it was supposed to but the bottom has a bit of a looser fit. It still works, keeps our 8 month old from going down the stairs.

This is the second one we've purchased to help keep grandchildren confined to our family room, as the room has two doorways. The opening is 38" and this gate system fits it perfectly. It is of metal construction and has a durable paint finish. It has withstood toodler pushing and kicking thus far.

The Dream Baby Swing Close Security Gate is a good gate. The only drawback is that the opening area of the gate is a little narrow (18 inches). You do receive extensions for both sides, but this does not change the gate opening area. We were able to install the gate just above the molding instead of directly on the floor without drilling holes into the wall using the suction cups that are provided. Overall, this is a good gate and looks great.

Works great for my doorway

I bought this gate because I worry about my 16 mo. old granddaughter getting hurt in my kitchen when she is here. We have her every other weekend and this gate works great! My doorway is 39 inches exactly and this gate is easy to put up when she is here and take down when she goes home. It would be easy to mount permanently if needed but doesn't have to be. I like it alot!

We purchased two of these gates to keep our dog out of certain areas without always having to keep the doors closed. For the price they were excellent quality and it took my husband literally minutes to install them. The walk through gate part opens both ways and automatically closes behind you!! These were well worth the money and we are very happy with them!!

I purchased this gate because my doorway is sort of narrow. Most other products specify an opening an inch or 2 wider. This gate fits and I was able to make a secure installation. It is important to follow the instructions for making the final adjustments. If it is not properly adjusted, it will not open and close easily.
I ordered this online because it was not stocked in our store. I used the Store Pickup service. It was easy to use and I saved a lot on shipping costs.

I read the reviews on this gate before purchase so I knew people had problems with installation. It took a couple of days of adjustment (tighten the top on one side and loosen bottom on the other) before it worked perfectly. I have had it in place for about 3weeks now and I have no problems with it. My only issue is the width of the opening. It would be better for my personal use if the actual opening was a little wider. But I bought it knowing I wouldn't be able to carry anything at my side while I go through. It looks good. The dogs can't force it open. My kids can't "forget" to close it. I have it at the top of a set of stairs to keep the dogs and grandchildren from falling. The little cups that screw fast to the wall give me piece of mind that it can't kick out.

Have used old style wooden framed pressure gates for years. Take it down/Put it up/Or just step over it when you needed to get from one room to the other. What a pain!. But this walk thru design is GREAT!!!

This is a great gate, really easy to install and the door swings closed behind you. One thing I would suggest is a person consider where it is going. I purchsed this gate because we have an infant that we'll need to keep away from the stairs. The only location to put this gate in our house is in a heavy traffic area into the kitchen and will be a perminant fixure for a few years so when we took that into consideration realized we would prefer a gate that we have the option to leave open while the kids are sleeping and one that doesn't have a bar across the bottom that you have to step over. This is still a great gate though and I would recommend it.

I have an 18 month chocolate lab that I cannot keep out of the kitchen. I've tried other pressure dog gates but it was really annoying having to climb over it all the time. Half of those times I'd trip over the gate. Anyway, this swing close security gate is exactly what I was looking for. It's very easy to assemble, looks great, and it works!!! We are using this gate for keeping our lab puppy out of the back rooms of the house. It has worked out so well that we purchased a second one for the door leading into the garage. We looked at a lot of gates and am glad that this was our purchase. Very easy to operate with one hand.
