Some things to know about elect bikes if you are over the weight limit the bike won't do small grades a 650 watt is almost 1 hp a 750 watt is 1 hp if the batteries need to be replaced it won't do a small grade; The battery when new if working good is liking running on on hi test gas after using the batteries a while is like running on mid grade gas when the batteries near the time for replacing you won't get the range or speed you used to get on the bike. Now it is time to replace the batteries. In the winter time water proof your scooter, at 80 deg if bike can go 8 miles at 32 deg the bike can go 4 miles at -20 less than 1 mile this is on lead acid batteries only, the good news about this scooter you can save gas put up to two baskets on the scooter carry up to 2 gals of milk plus other groceries you can get. The 500 watt model i bought at store brand new really liked it same brand.

I bought this when I fractured my knee a month ago to get me around campus. It's about a mile from my house to the University and it can get me there in no time. Before when I would drive, I had to park way up in the free parking and take the bus to central campus and it took me 45 min to get to my first class. Now it's only about 10 min. Very handy. The charge on the battery only goes down to half in spurts on my way home in the evening, so the charge is perfect for me. One word of caution- If you're using this as transportation get a little battery powered headlight and some additional reflectors for early morning and late nights on the scooter. I was on the sidewalk and almost hit by a car that was driving crazy after dark and didn't think anyone was around...
Overall excellent scooter for my poor fractured leg. When it gets better and I can walk again I'll probably still use it because it's just so efficient to get you around....

This seems to be a good product, however I can't answer for certain. The purchase, a B-day gift for my daughter, arrived damaged. Walmart is making good of it, but it will be 2 weeks, minimum, for the replacement part to arrive. So, as a review all I can say is inspect the product before you give it to your child on their Birthday. I don't wish that kind of disappointment on any child. . . or parent.

I purchased this product as a means of transportation. And so far it is being just that. However like every thing else it does not perform as advertised. It will not climb a very steep grade. The onr thing that is a problem for me is that it will not go more than 5 miles. I drive it to work seven days a week. Exactly 5miles. I have to push it the last 200 yards or so. And it does not charge completely before it is time for me to leave to go home. It does go at least 15 mph and the brakes are slugish. I had to replace the seat with a more comfortable one on each of the two that I bought and I have ordered more batteries for both so at least I can install them onto the bikes for a little more milege to get me home from work and us home from the store. Otherwise it is a great product, easy to put together, ride, care for, and order parts for. I think when my new batteries get here I will be satisfied with it and it will at least meet my expectaions.

This is my family's 3rd Schwinn scooter. We have owned another brand but it did not compare. My kids (and I) love to jump on a scooter to get around our rural subdivision. Whether going down to the mail box or visiting the neighbors, our Schwinn is always ready to go! Walmart made it easy to order and the Free Site-to-Store Shipping made it easy to pick up.

I've had it for about 3 weeks and so far so good. The assembly out of the box is minimal, but it does help to have basic knowledge of bike repair to get it together correctly. The breaks aren't the greatest, but adequate. I did some adjusting on them to make them work better. You can always upgrade to better pads, which I'll do when these wear out. The front fork is a little lame and poor quality, but it works. It vibrates while applying the breaks & it may need to be replaced at some point, we'll see.
It has decent power, but I wasn't expectining too much & I weigh 190 lbs. I commute to work on mostly flat roads so it's fine. Up moderate grades it slows down to about 1/2 speed, which is ok. It won't go up steap hills with me on it, so if you live in a very hilly area you might be disappointed, get a gas powered scooter or a bigger motored model.
I love it, I'm saving a ton on gas.

This is a great scooter to use on and off road. There are two problems though. One is that the chain will come off if not well oiled and tightened very often. Two is the battery slowly loses charge capacity, I have had this scooter for about six months and the batteries are at half capacity.

Received as gift. mine is 1 year old. Have had zero proplems with it! holds charge well "IF" you turn it off after each use. Takes small hills slow but effective. Mounted a basket on rear, so it is great for small trips to the market. I am 43 years old and ride a Harley Davidson, so I enjoy the two wheel experience. Great little scooter for expericenced or novice rider. Carful with rear wheel over curbs, tube will burst!

Love this thing! At $75.00 a fill-up at the gas station, this thing has almost paid for itself. I attached a basket to the back, a rearview mirror and headlight to the front and do all of my in Town running around on it. I live at the top of a steep hill & it still chugs right to the top! My granddaughter thinks I'm crazy but I think...crazy like a fox. I'm saving money and having a ball!

My daily commute is 9 miles round trip. To have a comfortable reserve, this scooter HAD to have it's full 12 mile range. I measured a neighborhood loop and ran laps, full charge to full discharge. It got 6 to 8 miles. Not bad, but not quite enough, so back it goes to Wal-Mart. Unlike other Schwinn/Currie scooters I've heard of, it arrived with no shipping damage. (Yeah Wal-Mart!) It was easy to assemble. It pulled my 195 pounds up a 300 foot 8% grade, albeit about 4 mph at full throttle. Electric motors have good low end torque, but with poor efficiency. Electric scooters really ought to have gear shifts. The range depended highly on the rear tire inflation. With the rear tire soft enough to give a comfortable ride it went 6 miles . With the rear tire fully inflated it went 8 miles, but the ride was noticeably jarring. The brakes seem soft. They don't grab nearly as well as my bike's front brake. It took over 40 feet to stop from full throttle. The seat post is a bit short for my 6 foot frame. Unfortunately, it's not adjustable.

Good value for an electric scooter. Not the range or speed of a gas moped -- 40 min ride time, 12-15 mph -- but OK for quick trips to the mailbox, etc. Not good on hills and must be re-charged after each use -- but this is normal for electrics. Can be easily transported in the back of your car for off road use at a park, etc.

I've had this scooter for 2 weeks now. I bought this to stop using my car so much. At first I was a little disappointed in the speed, but it makes up for it with its range and durability. On the other hand, it goes really fast if you are either on flat ground or going downhill. It does slow down when you go uphill, but I've only stalled it once- and it was a very steep hill I was trying to climb. Plus, all I did was turn it off, turn it back on, and it resumed climbing the rest of the hill no problem. The scooter says its not intended for commuting but its definitely capable of it, and that's what I use it for. The batteries do take awhile to charge (8-10hrs) but they provide a lot of drive time. I weigh 150 lbs. and it has easily taken me several miles, back and forth, without problem. You're not supposed to ride it when its wet or if there is debris, but I've taken through a little muddy water and it just slowed down until I scraped the heavy mud off the wheels. The water is dangerous though because the electronics can short out if it gets too wet. I'm thinking about making up a little box to encase the motor in, so its waterproof. It would also muffle the whirring noise it makes. Its very quiet (especially compared to gas scooters) but if its the only thing you can hear, it gets a little annoying on longer trips. The front and rear tires are both air-filled and very durable. I have driven over quite a few harsh bumps/sharp-looking debris and the worst that's happened is the air was low the next day. I reinflated them and they were fixed. I think the air just gets kinda beaten out if you hit too many really hard bumps. But they didn't get low until the next day anyway, it wasn't like they deflated while I was riding. The scooter is obviously very durable since I am using in it ways that the manual cautions against and it is taking the beating. It is somewhat heavy, but I think thats because its so durable. It will freewheel (roll like a bike when the motor is off- some electric scooters don't), but since its somewhat heavy, it would not be much fun to kick it around or carry it unless you had to. Its chain driven, as opposed to belt driven- which I've read mixed reviews about. My synopsis is that chain drives slip off more frequently than belt drives, but when they do- its easy to fix, just like putting the chain back on the gears of a bike. On the other hand, belt drives don't slip off as often as chain drives, but when they do- you most likely cannot fix it yourself, since the belt drives need to be completely enclosed and protected from dirt and debris. For this reason, I prefer the chain drive- although my chain hasn't come off yet. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with it. It only cost me a couple of car insurance payments, and it enables me to avoid driving my car quite often. It takes a little more planning than just jumping in your car and going but its definitely worth not using gasoline, for ecological and economical reasons.
