We actually bought TWO of these, and have permanently mounted them (as one of the options shown in the pictures). We have one that is using one gate panel and two wall panels, and it blocks off a large doorway, and the other panels are being used to keep the children away from our TV and entertainment center.
I was very pleased with the latch mechanisms on these doors. The push button to unlatch the door is fairly stiff, which means my husband and I can open it, but our 17 month old cannot. In addition, the door must be lifted slightly as the button is pressed. The button is situated in such a way that this can be done by one hand by an adult, but again, our 17 month old cannot do this. (He has figured out a LOT of other so-called "childproof gate" systems, but this one still baffles him).
The doors can either stand open or swing closed. The only complaint I have is that one of the doors doesn't close well anymore, but I think that is due to the fact that our floor in that area is not level, and so the door isn't level. It is fairly easily to close that door manually, though, so really a minor issue. I expect that if it was leveled, we would not have that issue any more.
The rest of the gate walls are pretty solid metal, and the assembly is easy and quick. I like being able to lock the panels in place after setting the angle. That makes the product very solid and prevents the kids from pushing it out of shape to be able to reach through and get things.
One note if you plan to mount these to the wall- there are two types of wall hardware, ("A" and "B") and normally you'd need to have an even number of panels to make the edges match the wallmount hardware. (One panel will have both "A" edges, while the next has both "B" edges.) So to end up with a length of panels that uses the correct wall mounts, you need to have an even number of panels. If you have an odd number of panels, you need the same hardware for both ends. We got around this by using the hardware from our second kit, (We used two "A" mounts on one gate, and two "B" mounts on the second) but I believe the company also sells extra mounting pieces (for $1.00) if you need them. (Sorry if that is a bit confusing to follow, but I can't think of a better way to explain).
My only wish is that this company would make a regular-width gate for normal doors with the same latch mechanism. If so, we'd buy several!!

We have a wide stairway that is open for the first 4 steps on one side. We wanted to block off the stairway from a baby learning to walk, but didn't want to block the entire hallway. The Superyard works perfectly. It looks nice and is very sturdy. We didn't need the entire length, so we took 2 of the sections out. To be honest, I could not figure out how to do that by looking at the directions, but my husband did it quickly with no issues. It attaches easily and securely to the wall. I didn't plan to spend so much on a gate, but it is well worth it, especially since we plan to use it for years assuming we have another little one.

Once our baby began to crawl, he was crawling everywhere he could - including making a beeline for wires, outlets and other dangerous objects. We needed a way to keep him in a defined area with his toys so he could play without worrying about him getting into trouble. This North States metal superyard did the trick. We actually bought 2 6-panels + 2 extensions for a total of 16 panels (with 2 gates). Yes, the play area is big with this many panels (literally covering a 10' x 10' area). The reason for such a large play area was so he could grow into it since we planned to keep this for awhile. Construction is solid, and easy to assemble once you get an idea of how each piece connects. It took about 2hrs from box opening to getting it set up 'just right' on top of a foam floor mat. The gates close & lock securely, and the metal bars are all coated for safety. We chose something with straight metal bars so that he couldn't use his feet or toes to climb over (he currently stands 2" under the 30" height, so we have some time before he can do so). The metal superyard also has substantial weight so he can rock himself against the bars without even moving the superyard itself. Sure this cost us a few dozen bucks more than the lighter, shorter, plastic kinds of superyards, but we can't put a price on our boy's safety while we avert our eyes occasionally to tend to other things. Bonus points in such a solid construction is that I'm sure we can sell this to someone else once our boy outgrows it.

I bought this gate to block off the top of our stairs that was too wide for regular baby gates. I was able to block off the stairs and the banisters from my crawling baby. It also keeps our beagle out of the living room.

I love that this baby gate is stylish, heavy duty, and customizable. I appreciate being able to add or take away sections of the gate to fit certain areas. This is a gate is not made to be moved around all day because it is heavier. I like that because my child can't pull it down. Also securing it to the wall is so easy. I like that my two year old has not figured out the door. You hold down a button and kinda lift up and away. Another thing is that when its in a circle it doesn't give a crawling baby much space. This baby gate is such a great product that in surprised that Walmart only charges $100 bucks. Totally worth it if you do the research, sometimes eBay will have one cheaper but after shipping it may be better to use Walmart site to store for the free shipping.

This playard is sturdy and freestanding. We have three of these connected to make a maze out of our living room :). In sll seriousness, we have a fireplace, staircase, hallway, etc to keep our little one away from. By connecting all three together we were able to protect him from the dangers, but not force a permanent configuration by bolting into the walls. As he's gotten older we've reconfigured the gates to address different situations. At a little over a year now, he can shake the yard and scoot it around a bit, but there is no concern over it falling.

I actually purchased this product as a gift for my son and daughter-in-law to use with their daughter. They think it's great - just what they wanted. (My son researches everything!) This product is better engineered than the regalo 4 in 1. Just overall better quality even down to how to tighten the sections together. Plus the another cool feature is the gate closes automatically. Plus it seems heavy enough so far that it will not move when he trys to push the gate around. much happier with this product even though more expensive.

Covers the whole staircase. I have a raised ranch and the stairs as well as the rails were an issue for my very active 9 month old. This gate is solid and I know it will last for the next three years. We will keep it too for the puppy that I am sure we will be getting at some point too.
