Keep your child safe and secure in the 3-in-1 Metal Superyard by North States. The versatile, six-panel enclosure can act as a portable play yard, a gate or a barrier. As a play yard, it encloses up to 10 square feet and is 30 inches high. The 3-in-1 Metal Superyard is free-standing and sets up in seconds, it can be used inside on a variety of floor surfaces and won't slip or scratch. For added convenience, the 3-in-1 Metal Superyard can also be hardware mounted as an extra-wide barrier in your home or a gate, blocking off fireplaces, displays, etc. The one swinging walk-thru panel is built with a child-proof double-locking system allowing easy access. If you'd like to increase the overall diameter, a two-panel extension is available separately.

We have a wide stairway that is open for the first 4 steps on one side. We wanted to block off the stairway from a baby learning to walk, but didn't want to block the entire hallway. The Superyard works perfectly. It looks nice and is very sturdy. We didn't need the entire length, so we took 2 of the sections out. To be honest, I could not figure out how to do that by looking at the directions, but my husband did it quickly with no issues. It attaches easily and securely to the wall. I didn't plan to spend so much on a gate, but it is well worth it, especially since we plan to use it for years assuming we have another little one.

Once our baby began to crawl, he was crawling everywhere he could - including making a beeline for wires, outlets and other dangerous objects. We needed a way to keep him in a defined area with his toys so he could play without worrying about him getting into trouble. This North States metal superyard did the trick. We actually bought 2 6-panels + 2 extensions for a total of 16 panels (with 2 gates). Yes, the play area is big with this many panels (literally covering a 10' x 10' area). The reason for such a large play area was so he could grow into it since we planned to keep this for awhile. Construction is solid, and easy to assemble once you get an idea of how each piece connects. It took about 2hrs from box opening to getting it set up 'just right' on top of a foam floor mat. The gates close & lock securely, and the metal bars are all coated for safety. We chose something with straight metal bars so that he couldn't use his feet or toes to climb over (he currently stands 2" under the 30" height, so we have some time before he can do so). The metal superyard also has substantial weight so he can rock himself against the bars without even moving the superyard itself. Sure this cost us a few dozen bucks more than the lighter, shorter, plastic kinds of superyards, but we can't put a price on our boy's safety while we avert our eyes occasionally to tend to other things. Bonus points in such a solid construction is that I'm sure we can sell this to someone else once our boy outgrows it.

I bought this gate to block off the top of our stairs that was too wide for regular baby gates. I was able to block off the stairs and the banisters from my crawling baby. It also keeps our beagle out of the living room.

I love that this baby gate is stylish, heavy duty, and customizable. I appreciate being able to add or take away sections of the gate to fit certain areas. This is a gate is not made to be moved around all day because it is heavier. I like that because my child can't pull it down. Also securing it to the wall is so easy. I like that my two year old has not figured out the door. You hold down a button and kinda lift up and away. Another thing is that when its in a circle it doesn't give a crawling baby much space. This baby gate is such a great product that in surprised that Walmart only charges $100 bucks. Totally worth it if you do the research, sometimes eBay will have one cheaper but after shipping it may be better to use Walmart site to store for the free shipping.

This playard is sturdy and freestanding. We have three of these connected to make a maze out of our living room :). In sll seriousness, we have a fireplace, staircase, hallway, etc to keep our little one away from. By connecting all three together we were able to protect him from the dangers, but not force a permanent configuration by bolting into the walls. As he's gotten older we've reconfigured the gates to address different situations. At a little over a year now, he can shake the yard and scoot it around a bit, but there is no concern over it falling.

I actually purchased this product as a gift for my son and daughter-in-law to use with their daughter. They think it's great - just what they wanted. (My son researches everything!) The Walmart price was by far lower than anywhere else. With delivery at $.97 per item, it can't be beat. Plus, it arrived 2 days earlier than expected!

This product is better engineered than the regalo 4 in 1. Just overall better quality even down to how to tighten the sections together. Plus the another cool feature is the gate closes automatically. Plus it seems heavy enough so far that it will not move when he trys to push the gate around. much happier with this product even though more expensive.

Covers the whole staircase. I have a raised ranch and the stairs as well as the rails were an issue for my very active 9 month old. This gate is solid and I know it will last for the next three years. We will keep it too for the puppy that I am sure we will be getting at some point too.

I purchased this system for my almost 10 month old twins. They are into everything and always going in two different directions! This has been a fantastic solution! If you plan to keep this play yard in a fixed location and you are debating between the metal and the plastic version...GO WITH THE METAL ONE! I bought 2 sets and there are several layout options depending on your room size/shape. What I really liked about the metal bars was the neutral taupe color, clean lines, sturdiness and stability. We originally were given the plastic version of this play yard as a gift, but upon opening the plastic one, it was no where near as solid or safe feeling. I personally felt the plastic one may be suited for portable use, or maybe for a puppy, but not an active baby. Also, the metal bars are more "climb resistant" because there are no little holes (as seen in the plastic version) for curious fingers and toes to climb on. I also love the walk-through gate that the metal system comes with. Since I purchased 2 sets, it nice because we have a gate at each end of the play yard. I also purchased foam floor tiles to go underneath because we have stone floors and no carpet. This whole set up feels really safe and secure and the girls love it. It is a wonderful product for busy kids. The best part is that when the babies are in the enclosure happily playing with toys, there is no fussing at all!
