I 'm nearing 50 and my knees can't task jogging much anymore so I thought I would try bike riding . I currently average about 40 miles a week and love the bike.I have changed the seat just for my personal comfort ,and feel like I'm 20 again. Great bike for the money, If you need some exercise and want some fun ,this is it newoldbiker

This bike is a very good product. I ordered it from site to store, which took about a week and a half, and did not include assembly. Assembly was not too bad, it only took about an hour, and I have no prior bike experience. If you have bike knowledge, I'm sure the assembly and maintenance are incredibly easy. It rides well and is constructed very well. Definitely worth it if you're looking for a quality bike without breaking the bank.

Great Bike - And low price (Thanks Walmart) Been out on it several times. Took some time to learn the shifting. The bike was pre-assembled at Walmart and everything works like it should. Did need to add more air (I'm over weight) And it's been a joy to ride. I would recommend to pick one up before the holidays.

My friend bought this bike and I liked it so I ordered one myself. His pedel has since stripped off and the gears on my bike love to pop in and out. I went by Costco today and saw a different Schwinn model and it looked to have a stripped pedel as well. After having this bike for about 2 weeks I plan on staying away from Schwinn from now on.

Schwinn Avenue Hybrid Bike is a superior quality built bike. It will ride and function smoothly without any flaws. The only exception would be the long reach to the handlebar for me, but for the average person there should not be a problem. Truly a Walmart super bargain, high quality and low price.

I read this feedback forum when I was looking for a bike and I was glad to have the input from others so I will return the favor. I believe this bike is worth the money paid and it is working fine for me. So don’t let the issues I note below scare you off. I had the bike shipped to a local Wal-Mart store (source-to-store) and the front rim was dented in shipping; not a major dent but noticeable. I would have liked a replacement but in reading the info about returning things it appeared to me that I could return the whole thing (if I could get it back in the box) but did not see a provision for replacing a single part. Since I had the bike together after I noticed the dent I did not pursue it further. I would have liked to have the ability to get the wheel replaced though. I have noticed that the front and rear derailers do not operate smoothly at times. I am new to biking so this may be my lack of experience but I often don’t get a smooth transition of the chain from one cog or chain-ring to the next. I have had to get a spoke wrench and align the wheels (side-to-side) several times. After the first 4 or 5 rides this seems to have settled down a bit but one should check it for a while. I also notice that the wheels are slightly out-of-round but I need to take the tire off the rim to adjust this and have not gone there yet. This is not major but you can easily see it if you turn the bike over and spin the wheels. I am not sure if this is the rim or the tire causing this. I really like the fact that the frame is predrilled for fenders and a rack if I should decide to add them later. There are mount points for a water bottle holder and emergency air pump also. I have had no major issues with the bike and have had lots of fun with it so far.

Received bike in box using site-to-store. Everything was in the box, and assembly was straight forward. The bike performs very well. I use it to ride to and from work about half the time. This bike replaced a NEXT cruiser. This one is much lighter and of better quality.

Looking for a nice bike to ride on shorter rides, less than a century. I am retired now. Excellent bike. Rides about as well as my old custom road bike. This bike is too upright for long rides. If you ship it to your store you must put it together. Instructions on both the headset and brake adjustment could be better. Bike is as good as it gets at anywhere near the price.

The 4 stars is reflective of the assembly, not the bike itself. The value is terrific. We shopped for bikes for quite some time. My 16. y.o. son tried out this same model from another store, but the derailer had issues with alignment. We are not bike experts, so we took it back and exchanged it. The 2nd one was worse, so we got a refund. Well - back to shopping, the prices are easily double this for a decent bike at bike stores. We made the decision to stick with the purchase another Schwinn 700C, this time from Walmart. The Walmart version is nicer, has a comfy seat and handle bar placement. Again, the gears are not properly aligned, we will spend the money at the local bike shop to have it properly set-up. It will cost about $50, but still, that with the price we paid for the bike is still so much less than the bike shop prices for new bikes.

I needed a bike that would hold up longer than the other bikes I have had in the past, but I knew I could not afford Bike shop pricing. Enter the Avenue. It is a gem. I am really pleased with its performance. The gear system is the best I've ever had in a bike. I would encourage anyone to buy this bike. You won't be upset that you did!

Good bike. As with any bike, you need to adjust the gears for proper function. Once you do, this bike really comes alive. Smooth, quick shifts. A great road bike with more stability that a race/road bike (at the sacrifice of speed of course).

This bike's gearing was not high enough to take advanage of long sloping downhill runs or even short steep downhill runs. I had difficulty in properly adjusting the derailleurs, as did the local bike shop. The frame and the ride were solid, but I could not find a comfortable riding position for my 14 mile commutes. I returned the bike and am in the process of looking for a road bike that should be faster and shift more smoothly.

Solid Frame. Great Brakes Excellent Gearing. Takes a while to adjust, but worth the effort. Added an Astrale 8 bike computer - helps during cardio training to maintain/check cadence. Tires lose pressure quickly (2-3 days) @ 7000 ft. Good for a thorough cardio workout.

I was looking for something more comfortable then a racing bike and more ridable than a mountain bike on city streets and sidewalks, and this hybrid from Schwinn fit the bill. The shifters and breaks really stand out. It's not too heavy, and the built in suspension gives a nice ride.

I bought this bike from a local WalMart after reading the product reviews, checking it out in the store and comparing it to a couple other bikes that were twice (or more) as expensive. Very nice bike without overspending. I was/am concerned about the 24 spoke wheels but so far they have held up well. It was nicely assembled and needed no adjustments off the rack at WalMart. Nice ride.

After extensive research, I bought this bike and have been riding it for 3 weeks now. It is light weight and rides smoothe as silk. I took it to a bike shop to have it checked out and all major components adjusted. With the money saved by buying Walmart, I felt this was a prudent investment. I bought a rack to ease the pain for the bike shop and they gave the bike a clean bill of health. There is a slight "rattle" in the bottom braket that I intend to grease shortly. I'm very satisfied with the bike and feel this is comprabable to other bikes $150-200 more expensive.

I'm only taking the time to review this because it's such a great deal on a nice bike. All my other bikes have been purchased at a LBS here, of which there are many fine shops. If you are truly looking high end then there are some differences of course, otherwise, this bike is every bit as good and then some as the 500+ dollar bikes by Trek and others. I looked at a lot of bikes and honestly this bike was better set up (after I assembled it myself) than several I tested at a couple of popular shops. It basically came down to buying another Trek for more than twice the price from the best shop in town or this. The brakes needed a slight adjustment which is normal, and the gearing as well but was really pretty darn close right out of the box. Overall, this bike is a tremendous value for anyone considering a hybrid in today's bike market. I spent some time talking with the guys who assemble the bikes at the walmart where I purchased, and I was fine with their knowledge and assembly quality but still chose to buy a box and finish it up which was quite simple for anyone with the right tools and a little skill, but at least at the walmart I went to, the bike would have been assembled just fine. You would still need to make some slight adjustments to get everything just right but that's easy enough and easy enough to get assistance with if you need it. If you are afraid to buy a bike here for fear of getting junk, at least with this one I can assure you that's not a problem. Go for it and enjoy the ride.
