This shelf seems very sturdy. I put mine on carpet. I attached mine to the wall and each other because I'm storing boxes of glass items on them. I think on cement they would sit great. I would like to get some more for the garage. Sooooo easy to put together! Use a mallet to fully seat the leg in its spot, couldn't be easier. My 11 year old had one put together in less than 10 minutes. Perfect for what I needed.

I bought this shelving 16 yrs ago when I moved into my home. It is very sturdy and has held up very well. I just bought another one to replace the metal shelving I put in 16 yrs ago. It was rusted and actually had a big hole in one of the shelves. Too bad I put in the metal shelving because I am now replacing it with the Sterilite 4-sheelve Unit.

Very Practical Sturdy Shelving System

We just finished our basement and needed a shelving system for our utility closet. This product fits the bill very effectively. We are able to store our gallon paint cans, and numerous other items including a large bread maker because the shelves are so widely spaced. I would recommend placing the heavier items such as paints and the breadmaker on the lower levels to keep the center of mass near the floor to avoid toppling of the shelving. The system fits into our small closet well taking up less than half of the space so we can still work around it and also include a smaller set of shelves adjacent to it. Prior to my purchase the floor was literally covered with paint cans and other items and it was impossible to organize and find anything. Now it's a cinch. I would recommend this unit to anybody for its satisfactory quality and utility at a very reasonable price. I think that Sterilite makes a superior plastic shelving system compared with many I checked out. I am also happy to know that the company is based in Massachusetts my home state and provides decent jobs and a future for the plastics industry in America. Let's support this company to help keep jobs at home and away from our Asian competitors!

I purchsed the shelving for use in my home office to hold reams of paper, file boxes, etc. Very easy to assemble, sturdy construction, fits my needs exactly. I already owned one of these shelves and knew I wanted more for storing stacks of folded fabric. In three years of use in my sewing room, the shelves haven't sagged and still look good. The corner posts are actually in the corners, giving the maximum usable room on the shelf surface. A rubber mallet will help you whack the posts into place without damaging them or your hands.

I bought 4 sets of these shelves over 8 years ago and they have held up so well that they look no different now than they did when I purchased them. They were my first choice to buy when I needed more shelves for my attic.
These shelves are incredibly strong, sturdy, and stable. Even heavy items don't cause any sagging of the shelves! They wipe up easily with a bit of soap and a little effort.
Although they assemble well without tools, it is very helpful to have a rubber mallet to quickly put the pieces together. The uprights must be fully seated into the shelves for the shelves to sit flat without being wobbly. Once they are fully placed, there is no wobble at all. They are extremely steady.
I also plan to purchase these shelves in the future. They are a wonderful value for the money since they seemingly last forever, even in the extreme hot and cold temperatures of my attic. Don't hesitate to buy these!
