We purchased this Garmin just prior to a driving vacation through Europe. Without this wonderful piece of technology we would have abandoned our vacation after the first day.

I liked the in store pick up that worked out fine.
The product took like forever to load the updated map. You get one update and looks like you buy the rest after that. The map install program took at least two hours if not more. Note sure how that compares with other brands.
First trip to Myrtle Beach it worked well. Slight problem finding a restaurant, we missed it by a couple of miles. There is a handy feature that lets you look up points of interest; we used it to find that restaurant. Another place it told me to go left and I should have gone right. But at least it got me almost there.
The suction cup is sort of weak. I found a dashboard mount (like a bean bag) and am using that in place of what came in the box. I like that better because it does not leave a mark on the window.
We have used it in town and it is working well. Overall I like it.
If I had it to do over I might buy one with blue tooth to get hands free. Also, while it tells you to turn right or left at the appropriate point, I wish I would have gotten one that actually speaks the street name. This one places the street name on the top of the screen but after using it I would like it to confirm the name so I don’t have to look at the screen.
Have not used it in Europe yet, that is really why I got this one, to get Europe maps. I can get so lost in Ireland.

This GPS unit does everything it's supposed to. The easy to follow touch screen menu makes finding what you're looking for a snap. It updates itself so often that it's on screen speedometer and ETA calculations are dead on. If you don't need all the XM satellite trafic stuff then this is the perfect GPS for you.

I was impressed with how the product worked but dissapointed that it was not up to date with the changes esprcially in the republic of Ireland. we purchaded the product especially for our trip to Ireland. New roads and one way systems were not recognized causing confusion. We need to find out how to get the product updated then it will be more useful. We expected a new product to be up to date.

Not only did I save about $200 off the Circuit City price, but Walmart got it to me in 48hrs!!! The system is great. Works all over Europe. I used it in France, Luxemborg, Italy, Austria and Germany, with out any problems. It even warned me of upcoming traffic cameras, in order to reduce my speed, in Italy. I also used it to walk around several cities, by putting it on pedestrian mode. Definately recommend.

I am stationed in Germany and this is very helpful because it has maps of most countries in Europe. It has a very clear voice and directions are easy to understand. It was very easy to get started, no complicated directions. I would recommend getting a home charger if you want to be able to look things up while inside before you travel. Also, it is preloaded with lots of restaurants, gas stations, theme parks and anything else you could think of to look for.
