Sony E-Reader 6" LCD Portable Silver E-Book, PRS505SC

I am a big reader, always have been. I love the smell of books and bookstores, so a digital reader, while neat, seemed like it wasn't the option for me. However, I am running out of room for my books and decided to take the plunge after 4 months of debating. From the moment I got it I was hooked! No more dragging multiple, sometimes heavy books around to work and appointments - now it all fits on this incredible, slim and lightweight gadget! I can't say enough good things about this product. It was soooo worth it and I am incredibly pleased.

The Sony e-reader is a very nice product. My only disappointment is that there is no good light source for reading in dim light or in bed. I have tried a few different clip on lights and have not been impressed. If the cost of the product was less it would be easier to deal with this flaw. I have research the Kindle as well and they have the same problem with lighting. I also know that Sony has released the next version a (700 series) that does have a light....reviews have commented that the new touch screen version makes the text less crisp. I'm sure all the kinks will be worked out.
If you aren't concerned about a light the Sony reader is a very good choice for you. Very nice looking,clear type and light weight.

I am very happy with my eReader! It's the best!! Light, portable, and easy to use. Definitely worth the investment!

According to several websites I perused prior to buying this as a gift, there are several work-arounds available that make this product compatible with Mac computers. However, none of them can handle copyright-protected books. In order to finally make it work, we were forced to resort to running Windows on a Mac. Once we accomplished that, we were quite satisfied with the features and the performance of the reader.

Great product. I read a LOT of books and this will reduce my carbon footprint considerably. So easy to use.

I thought that the product was a bit too expensive and spent a considerable amount of time looking for the best deal.
After recieving it, I was pleasently suprised that the reader screen did in fact read like paper. So much so in fact, that I still find myself reaching to change the page like it was a real book.
It is slow in rendering pictures and changing pages, however I bought it to read books rather than veiw pictures.
It is small and light, perfect for all of my travels.

I can recommend this product for anyone that is on the go and has the money for this convenience. Being a bit pricey, I would not recommend it for those that have to think twice about the price. The reading experience is NOT better than a real book, just merely more convenient for those that have lots of books that they would like to take with them.

The Sony E-Reader PRS 505-SC is the greatest thing I have ever invested in. It's small enough to take with you and can hold 160 books! A friend recommended this to me and I was doubtful that I would use it once the new wore off. Wrong! I take it everywhere with me. If I'm in the doctor's office and they are running behind (as usual), I just pull my E-reader out of my purse and escape. It is very user friendly. Downloads are super fast and simple to do. This is by far the best investment I have made in a long time.

I love the Sony E-Reader for the convenience and accessibility to new books. I was surprised to find out that I can also view and store photos, music and documents on it. It's perfect for my needs.

I really enjoy reading on this little Sony Reader. It's easy to carry around, I can read more than one book at a time. I can mark my current page in the book as well as any other page that has a passage or scene I may want to revisit. In addition the free classic books offered by Sony's e-books is a wonderful benefit. I'm reading some classic literature that I always wanted to read but never had the opportunity. My daughter also loves it and even asked if I would buy her one for Christmas!
