I am sure that the South Beach Diet is a surefire way to lose weight. However, instead of recommending types of food for each meal, the book only gives you examples of recipes.
The recipes called for alot of things like tofu and hummus. I don't care that much for eggs, especially those mixed with vegetables and other things, and practically every breakfast suggestion had eggs in it. I would have preferred mention of something that I could substitute for eggs.
I found most of the recipes to be unappetizing for my tastes. Just a simple list like ... 3oz. protein, 1 cup berries, 8oz. fat-free milk, etc. would have been much simpler. There is a list of foods you can eat, but it doesn't say how much for each meal.
I only needed to lose around 12-15 lbs., but I just didn't feel that this book was very helpful.
