PROS: This player has a fantastic picture quality, a large screen, and a long-lasting battery. You can use either the remote control or touch-controls along the bottom of the screen. Setup features are self-explanatory. It comes with a car mounting kit and a [long] car adapter power cable. The mounting bracket fits along the vertical poles of a headrest, and is secured by four screws. A mounting clip screws into the bottom of the player and then snaps into the bracket. CONS: The player door is too lightweight, which makes it possible to not close it fully to play a disc. However, this is remedied if you simply use both hands to evenly close the lid. If the player is on an uneven or unstable surface, or if you are taking a bumpy car ride, the player sometimes has trouble initiating a newly inserted disc. This happened to me when riding in a car. I tried to change discs when the car was in motion, and the new disc would not play. However, when my husband stopped the car at the next red light, it recognized the disc and began playing. When we started moving again it continued to play just fine. FYI, I also called Philips customer service to verify this wasn't a defect. OVERALL, this is an AWESOME player. We use it every day, either in the car or around the house. I extensively researched portable players before making this purchase. WALMART SELLS THIS PLAYER FOR $80 LESS THAN BEST BUY!

I bought this for my boyfriend. He is an emt that works the graveyard shift and often sits around in the ambulance. This product is surprisingly slim, considering the 10.2 inch screen. Also, he was excited about the speakers, they are loud enough that he, and his partner, can watch a movie with out headphones. The picture is great too! Overall we are very satisfied... Also, I checked everywhere, and this was the most reasonable price!

I was pleasantly surprised by the slim profile of the player. I was unaware that the color of the exterior would be white. (Not sure if there was a color choice) I do not like that as it will show dirt and may have to be cleaned frequently. I had difficulting finding a case for it. Most cases are 7"-9". I also found a 10" case, but I really had to hunt around to find a 10.2" case. Since this is a portable product that is something to keep in mind. Finally found one that is a tight fit for the player and accessories, such as the car adapter, etc. I am a college student and haven't actually had time to watch a movie yet.

The picture is crystal clear and great! Love the 10.2" screen. Several things not good though. The car seat mount is bad. It is not sturdy and when you hit a bump it sometimes loosens and will fall over. The DVD unit is very heavy and just not an overall good design. A mounting strap would be better like the ones with the cheaper units. I have found no power button on the remote and that is a pain because of the location of the power button being under the screen. I ended up letting my child hold the unit while driving. Not my intent at all when buying the product. Overall it is good but I would not buy it again for this price.

I bought this DVD Player as a Christmas gift for my husband, he was looking for it since August. It is a very nice DVD Player, it make little noise when it starts to load the dvd, but works great, very nice and big picture, that is the best player I ever seen, I look for all the 10 " DVD Players in the market, but this is the most beautiful and great one. I recommend to everyone.

The Philips Pet 1030/37 has a low volume range compared to other portable DVD players previously owned. Upon opening the packaging to check its content, the product was missing the "Travel Bag" as discribed in the on-line users manual. Other than that, the Philips Pet 1030/37 is a good product. I would rate this product with three and a half stars.

Overall quality was good. Good picture, sound, and construction. Battery life could be longer, but a person can still get throu 1 to 2 movies. Only complaint is, I bought it because of the USB port to play movies of my IPOD. So FYI it is not compatible with the IPOD and will not play movies. Still like it and didn't return it if that tells you anything.

I bought this product while i was on deployment to the persian gulf, after my other one had died and i love this one. I love having the bigger screen and it has great sound. Pros: Versatility of being able to play mp3, wma, DivX, WMV etc from an SD memory card or USB 2.0 flash drive or even a USB connected Hard Disk Drive is definitely the future of these types of devices.
Cons: 1. Power button, power button, power button. If Phillips had used real living persons to test this product they would never have let it see the light of day without having a Power On/Off button on the Remote Control and a combo PWR button/ PWR On light in the lower right corner below the LCD.
2. LCD backlight creates noticeable pattern at bottom of screen during low-light scenes.
3. No advanced features like Playlists for playing video/audio files from memory cards / drives etc.

We have only used it on a few trips. The picture and sound are excellent. I like that I can point the remote from the front seat and it works. For us, it works best from the driver's seat. Mount (for seat headrest) could be a little sturdier. It does shake a bit with bumps in the road. It's not a "deal breaker" though. I love that it disconnects easily from the headrest. In seconds I can take it with me. I have not seen the "icon" on the screen that some complained about. I don't know if that's because of the DVD or a change in the product. Overall, I am pleased. I hope it will last. At least I got a good warranty for a reasonable price from WalMart (I hope!). I would recommend.

We use this system as a DVD player when not travelling. The power button is under the screen when it is a tableau and that is a pain. Also, we have had trouble actually getting it to turn on, even when it is plugged. I don't know if this is normal or an actual problem with the system. Otherwise, it works great and the sound is fine.

This product was received quickly and was a HUGE help keeping the kids entertained during our 7-State Summer Vacation Trip!! They enjoyed it during the ride, we enjoyed it on the balcony sipping Merlot after dinner and upon returning home when we got to torture every member of the extended family with our Vacation Photos and videos!!! It was a very good buy for the money, quality and purpose.

After a thorough investigation of the top portable DVD players out there this model appears head and shoulders above the rest. While performance is on par with some of the best ones out there, the relatively cheap price puts it over the top. It's very light, nice quality, and rock solid on performance. Some other reviewers had noted that there is a chapter number that appears at each new chapter of the DVD. That problem appears to have been fixed. I would've preferred a longer lasting battery, but four hours is pretty good, as you can get through the longest movies with it. Sound is excellent through headphones and very adequate through the speakers. The only thing I would've improved would be the buttons on the bottom of the screen: they're too small and hard to read in the dark. Some DVD players illuminate their buttons: while consuming more battery power it offers a remedy to the problem. It comes with a nice remote, so that problem has already been somewhat alleviated if you use the remote. It also had a solid and serious car-mount kit. All this is included in the price. I've flown with it and the screen configurations offer a solution to almost every problem that an airline traveller faces when trying to set up a portable DVD player in a cramped up space.

Thought the player was a bit over priced but it had a nice pic and was a nice product except the battery wouldn't keep a charge at all. I tried to charge the battery for 36 hrs only to have it show that the battery had no charge at all. The DVD player had an internal battery that required a tech to open and replace so I choose to return it instead of trying to get a new battery and was able to find a unit just as nice for a lot less.

The price was good. The battery life is around 2-2 1/2 hours but in the car you can use car power adapter. It comes with a headrest mount but it maybe difficult for someone other than the one directly in front of screen to see. I would not recommend any smaller screen or getting off brand since we returned an Insignia before we settled on this. We purchased with Walmart because of their return policy.
