Shark Steam Mop S3101

I this product is ok. It is not at all anything that the advertisement made it out to be. They make it look easy to use on tough cleaning areas & the stains do not come out that easy. You have to scrub even simple stains. I do like it better than the old traditional mop though. It does appear that the floors look cleaner & more sanitized. I like the fact that the the floors dry quickly too because I have hard wood floors & ceramic tile, plus a 2 year old running around the house as well. Another thing is the water container is small so it really doesn't allow you to do multiple rooms at one time without refilling. As I stated before, this is an ok product it gets the job done but its not at all what they make it out to be & it was not at all what i expected out of the product.

I bought my Shark Steam Mop in 2008. I did think twice whether to purchase something that is so flimsy, but at the time, it was all I can afford. And with little children, I wanted to minimize the use of chemical cleaners as much as possible in my home. It is now 2010, and R.I.P Shark Steam Mop.

As far as I know, I did everything right. I only used distilled water. I emptied the chamber after each use. I wash my mop heads without fabric softener and hang dried them. Towards its last few uses, the steam was getting to be more sporadic, instead of constant. But now, there is no steam coming out.

I called customer service and they said for $18 minimum plus $10 shipping, I can send it back for repair. With tax, it comes to about $30 and change. It would take 4-6 weeks to get my machine back. The other option I have is to accept their discounted offer of a factory reconditioned unit for about $53.00 (shipping included). Well, I told them I would think about it, but it's not something that I would jump on. At this point, I will explore other floor steamer units, and not bother with Shark. I do have to say their customer service was very professional. But after your 1 year warranty is over with Shark, then it breaks and you're out on $70. BTW, the customer service rep told me that the problem I had is "VERY COMMON" with this model. She may have slipped, but it's not something you want to share with the consumer. So, Buyers, Beware. In the long run, you'd want something durable for the amount of money you spent.

This mop does a great job, the first time I used it I fell in love. Buy one if you like clean floors, buy it.

I've only used the steam mop once, but so far it has exceeded my expectations.

After seeing these in advertisements I have been wanting one for a while. I finally got it for Christmas. I love it. I previously was using the swiffer mop but after all the gossip about it being harmful for pets I switched back to using the mop and bucket. A regular mop just doesn't clean ceramic tile like I think it should. Used this steam mop in my laundry area where laundry detergent had leaked and created a sticky mess all over the floor. If you used a regular wet washcloth it just spread the mess. The steam mop lifted the soap without causing it to foam up. I'm very satified and will buy another.

this is constructed much like a swiffer...for $80, that ain't good. it snaps together similarly and while it is in fact light-weight as promised, it just feels chintzy. the super long cord is a plus, but the way you actually get the product to steam seems as though it lends itself to breaking easily. the directions indicate you have to pump the handle to create steam...this is pretty much a jostling of the flimsy handle while mopping. it's not especially difficult to steam, but it's not what i'd prefer. it was also very difficult to get up dried stains on my kitchen linoleum. i'm exchanging this for the bissel steam mop, which i should have gotten in the first place. it's bissel and it's the same price. if this were priced around $35 i may consider it a fair deal.

If you want to use a steam mop, this is definitely an option. But know what you are getting. It does not feel sturdy or durable (which doesn't mean its not... it just does not feel well made.. i don't know anyone who owned it for long enough to say if its really durable.)

It steams, but it was not necessarily super easy to get off tough stains. You do have to really press them out. And the power cord sometimes gets in the way of mopping.

Theres a video review at infonotmercial.com. They tested it out and said it was good, but that it does not work so much better than a real mop... but the floors do dry much faster and dont smell like poison when you are done :)

Full disclosure - I myself have never used this product, but I know people who have and did a lot of research on it.

leaves streaks and a very big disappointment

Every time i say this product on T.V. i want to try one to see if it was as great as the said it was. Let me tell ya it is. I would have to spray bleach on hard stains and get down and scrub it but no more doing that. This mop takes up almost anything and no more mop wipes. If u are thinking about getting this mop do u will love it.
