Plenty of room for my Beagle. He loves the crate. We wanted to crate train him to live indoors, just tossed in a blanket and he loves his personal apartment.
I will say it is a bit clumsy to carry around. But I didn't purchase for that application.

I bought this kennel two years ago, for my cat who prefers to hide, than to free-roam the house. (Don't worry, we never locker her in it.) It worked perfectly as a safe haven for her, until she decided to take residence in a filing cabinet. We ended up rescuing an abandoned Chihuahua puppy a few months ago, so we have been been using it for him. He loves his kennel, even when he is free-roaming around our home - he retreats to his kennel for a nap, or simply to chew on his toys. It has held up nicely for two years, and if I ever need to purchase another one, I'll be buying one of these.

We bought this crate for our puppy. It was a very good training tool however, our dog outgrew it. Very easy to put together and take apart. However, the latches get stuck alot and our dog got out of it. We found a crate double the size with a side door and front door for only ten dollars more. It is a good crate for just starting out but not for keeping forever.

i have the pet crate in this style in large and one in medium to new buyers this is a good product better then the other products i used , this is a steel crate with a plastic bottom to the bottom of the crate it is good if it breaks all you have to do is replace it instead of replacing the whole kennel like many others exsample petmate travel kennels are junk made of all platic and vinile this is a steel crate so what if it has a power coating the looks of the paint being removed does not matter the puppy needs it for a short period of time this is a not a permanent crate it is a training tool then when you puppy is confident then let her or him exsplore more.
this product from the aspc is good no doubt about ti and plus the profits go to the aspca in your local communities so why not buy this then some off brand made of plastic i rate this a 10 from the rictor scale of quality

Flaws in bottom,

adopted a Fox terrier mix from the pound about 2 1/2 weeks ago. This little guy (scraps) hates it with a passion and has tried his best to break it into a million pieces. The bars have bent a little but have managed to hold up very well. My only problem has to do with the bottom wires under the pan. Scraps has learned to eject the pan out of the bottom and squeeze his whole body through the holes on the bottom. They need to make them as small as the rest of the cage. Guess they are not use to overly clever dogs being in the crate. I taped him when I left one day took him 30 min to figure it out! I say get it so long as your dog is not A. small enough to get out the holes or B. smart enough to figure out he can get out of the holes!

The Petmate kennel I purchased was extremely easy to put together. It's also very sturdy, yet lightweight, which makes it easy to move from one area to another. My dog considers the kennel her second bedroom. It will come in handy for trips, also.

I have a 24 lb. poodle and he does not mind going into his house when necessary - BUT the floor has absolutely not held up. Within about 2 months, the floor was in about 20 pieces. Not happy with that as I have a wood floor.

This is the best size. I couldn't find the 18x24 in any store. Our dog is about 9to10lbs and it is the right size for him to move around some. The inclosed crate would be too warm in the summer even in the house, so we got this open air crate.

We bought this one week ago for our new dog we got a few days ago. She is an 8 lbs. Chihuahua mix. We only left her in the kennel 2 times. the first time she was able to push the bottom pan out and move the kennel wherever she wanted to go. Then today after only being gone a couple of hours she ripped the pan to complete shreds! Very poor quality if a small dog can tear it up! Will be taking back tomorrow!!!!!
