We like crisp toast. In our opinion, the Kaloric DoubleToaster Oven makes the best toast we have ever had at home. The only places that we have had enjoyed similar toast were in France and Italy. I did a lot of research before making this purchase and had some doubts until we tried it. My family is delighted with the results; I am very glad we decided to try something a bit out of the ordinary. The unit is larger than a typical toaster but fits snugly against the wall and under the cabinets so its footprint is only slightly larger than our previous toaster oven. It is a lovely, gleaming piece of equipment, very modern and professional looking. It easily toasts 8-10 pieces of bread simultaneously, so for a family of four who want to sit down together, it works out perfectly. The toast is crisp because the unit has no doors and because the bread is toasted slowly (8-10 minutes). It does generate some heat during the toasting cycle but it cools quickly. There are 3 tiers of toasting elements and four racks. The middle tier always comes on. So you can use this to toast only the top of english muffins or bagels, to brown a gratin, or to toast nuts on a small sheet (I use the one from the toaster oven that this replaced!). The other two tiers have separate controls so you can use one or both depending on the number of slices you are making. The crumb tray slides out easily for quick and thorough cleaning. Walmart's price is the best we found, especially with the site-to-store shipping at no added cost. The unit looks exactly as pictured. If you like crisp, evenly browned toast, have a bit of extra counter space, need to make toast for several people at once, occasionally need to do only top or bottom browning/toasting, and like a unit that is easy to clean and pleasant to look at, you will do well to choose the Kaloric Double Toaster Oven.
