The NUVI 260 saved a lot of time going to a colorado address. Also, my nephew in Oklahoma told me that my GPS would be off one block when coming to his house because the GPS he has is off one block. I followed the NUVI 260's directions and it put me in his driveway.

I selected this product after much research, and I have been happy with my choice. Overall it does a very good job with directions. You are able to specify whether you want it to search a route by shortest distance or by shortest drive time. I would give this unit an “A”, could be an “A+” but I have found a few errors (Listed below), but despite these few, small problems I have happy with my purchase. It seems to do an excellent job and was fairly priced compared to the other brands and models on the market. I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for a GPS unit.
*The GPS is very good about re-calculating a new route if you choose not to follow the directions exactly or if you miss a turn. *The screen automatically adjusts its brightness (dimmer in the evening and at night, brighter during the day) so make it easy to see, but also not overly distracting at night. *Very easy to move from vehicle to vehicle. *I really like the ability to have a favorites list. *I have found a few road name errors in my area, mainly in the very rural areas around were I live. *I have found that being able to search for restaurants, stores, etc by both type and by key word is very useful *Seems to process information and update the position a little slow, especially at highway speeds, but hasn’t caused any problems yet.

I bought this as a gift for someone and it was a huge success. It worked fantastic right out of the box. Very easy to use. Voice was easy to understand. No problems with it. The person that I bought it for gets lost just going to the doctors, he was very impressed and thought it was the greatest thing. You just set your destination and go.

The Garmin nuvi 260 is a great user friendly GPS. Perfect size screen, color display, constantly updating if you make wrong turn. It is also very accurate and has taken my drive times down by showing short cuts. I would highly reccomend this product!

I am a corporate pilot. My copilot has a Garmin nuvi 260 and we have found it invaluable while navigating in unfamiliar locations. When we land, we use the Garmin to mark our position on the airport. Then we mark the hotel in which we are staying, then we use the Garmin to help find a good restaurant. After dinner, we return to the 'marked' hotel and the next day we return to the 'marked' location on the airport. Since I don't always fly with the same copilot, I bought my own unit. I chose the 260 because the voice/text function is important to me. I've used Garmin radios in numerous aircraft. I have nothing but good to say about the product and the product support.

I am impressed with the nuvi 260. Portability, text to speech, competitively priced and user friendly. It's plug and play; enter the address and go. It's that simple. No need to update maps because it comes with the latest one. Screen is perfect size. I was contemplating whether or not to opt for the widescreen, but after reading reviews, they were right; no need for it. The 3.5 inch screen does not hamper your windshield vision. I place mine high, next to the rearview mirror. The voice is clear at the right volume. If you don't understand what it's saying, just take a quick glimpse on the screen and it'll tell you what it just said. When you miss the turn, it automatically recalculates within seconds. I will be buying at least two more for relatives. Wife uses it more than I do and she absolutely loves this thing. Things to keep in mind when buying a GPS: text to speech, portability, user friendliness, and competitive pricing. That's my two-cents!!

My sister and her husband recommended this GPS to me. They told me Walmart online had the best price and cheapest shipping and handling. I ordered this online at 8:00 a.m. The shipping and handling was 97 cents and would take about five business days. I received it less than 24 hours after ordering it! The service was excellent. Now for me to try the product and see what it was like. The instruction booklet is small and to the point. Perfect. It turns out I didn't even need the booklet. This GPS is so easy to use and very accurate. I was amazed that this compact GPS that fits into my purse could do so much. I especially liked when I was on a road trip and had to take a detour that I wasn't expecting. Within in a few seconds it recalculated the directions from the detour spot and I didn't have to touch a thing. I highly recommend this GPS for the value and the way the system works. Excellent on all aspects.

I can get lost in my own back yard, so I thought the GPS would be helpful on long trips. I like the voiced instructions. However, since I tried it on the same trip I've made repeatedly over several decades and had discovered the fastest, most direct route going and coming, the GPS unit took me very far off track, both with the shortest route and the fastest one. In fact, I got very lost coming home from Copper Harbor, Michigan, and ended up in Milwaukee which was certainly off course. The fastest route going north: I90 from my home town of Janesville, WI, to 51 north to 8 east, to 45 North through Land 'o'Lakes, WI and into the Upper Peninsula, etc. So direct with few turns and no hassles! I just returned from vacation. And, I will be returning the Nuvi to Wall Mart, Janesville.

I shopped around before I decided on this Garmin 260. I am very happy with the product and the price I payed. I love the text to speech. So far I have found this to be very accurate. I took wrong turns to try it out and found it to recalculate very quickly. I would highly recommend this Garmin. Easy to use and very reliable.

We've been using the 260 nuvi for a few weeks and we have no complaints. We've used it for familiar routes to see how and where it would direct us, and it was flawless. Over unfamiliar roads, it's been a God-send. It's very user-friendly; we did not much time learning how to use it. We would highly recommend this unit; the Walmart price is certainly right!

The Garmin 260 was my second attempt at a gps. The first being a nationally know unit that needed a lap top to display images. The Garmin is light years ahead of the other system in its simlicity and ease of use. Anyone wanting a really accuate gps that is VERY user friendly should consider the Garmin 260.

I like this product. It helps me get where I need to go. Sometimes it doesn't tell me when to turn until I'm in the middle of the intersection. The text-to-speech feature, which is WHY I bought this model, only works with a particular voice option that sounds crooked, like a child trying to read. Overall, I'm happy I got it, though it didn't quite meet my expectations.

I bought this product to replace one stolen from my car in a resturant parking lot. TIP - Remove your GPS, mounting bracket and power chord from view before exiting the car for any reason. GPS's are burgler magnets! Tip - Take a few minutes and read the manual, this GPS has some pretty neat features. Tip - take the time to go to the web site and down load the latest up date for your GPS, it will be worth it. This is the best value for the money, you get turn by turn voice directions in a pocket sized unit. In use you will not need a wide screen, most of the time you will not be looking at the screen, just listen to the directions. I liked the unit enough to replace the stolen one with the same model.

A great buy, does everything I need and just over $200........ Quick recalculates, acurate, finds what I need. I like the option to look for and add stops along the way! Have a Megellin Roadmate300 which is 4 yrs old. This newer technology is great! Fits in my pocket for motorcycle rides as well. 3.5in screen is wide enough, taller would be the next imporvement, wider is a waste....

I would highly recommend the Garmin 260. Took it recently on a trip to DC which I don't frequent so I was a bit nervous, but the Garmin did the job & got me there no problem. I loved that it announced the streets, I loved the way the arrows showed me when the turn was coming near. It is the neatest thing. I am so happy to never have to use mapquest directions again which by the way was WAY different from how the Garmin took me to my location in DC. I think I would have gotten lost had a used mapquest's directions. Great buy!

Didn't do alot of research but was looking for something simple yet with the ability to do a little more for me, like having the extra memory capacity. Very easy to use and I love the compact size. I decided the W wasn't worth the extra money.

It has a good price, and it works pretty well. Only problems are: sometimes it takes a while for the satellite to load. and Sometimes it is a little late with directions, like we are just passing the place when it says, "turn right in 100 feet". I think this is in very congested areas, Nuvi gets confused Easy to use, clear images
