Garmin nuvi 200W Portable GPS with 4.3" display Screen

My first was a gift in 1997, it was waterproof and a bit of a pain but it worked! My second one was an iq3600 which I loved but kept messing up (losing voice and needing resets and hotsyncs...). My iq3600 finally died (battery problems) and so I bought the 200w because you don't need a computer and Consumer Reports rated it very highly. I love it! It is better than my iq3600 was when it worked! The display is big, it's easy to use, the mount is easy, you can choose the 3d style (view is like you're in a car driving) or 2d style (view is like you are in a helicopter looking down at a car driving through a city). And for under $200 this is a must. It comes with everything you need (cable and mount). I totally recommend this device.

Overall the product is okay. I have been routed off major highways to take a shorter route which had many lights and intersections. The device is geared to route the least amount of miles and not taking into consideration the convenience of staying on a major road. This caused the trip to take longer than staying in the highway.

My only complaint is that I can't figure out how to pick a destination by city only. It asks for a street address and I don't necessarily know a specific address.

Purchased this product for my granddaughter who is away at college and new to the area. It has helped her find not only her campus, but also recreation areas, shopping, etc. I would recommend this product.

This is my first Nuvi product from Garmin. Out of the box the unit was easier to setup than my Garmin Street Pilot C320 but that's where the excitement stopped. Yes the screen is big and wide and the streets scroll by ever so smoothly which is nice (just means the unit updates several times per second) but if you put in an address that is close to a major intersection, the unit takes you around in circles to get there, even passing the actual address before eventually recommending a U-turn to get you back to the intended location. I eventually went into the custom settings and changed a few things which helped the unit get to the intended location vs. driving around in circles but my wife used the unit (actually I bought it for her) to go to the doctor to drive from Avondale to Scottsdale and the unit directed her to make several unnecessary turns and exits that didn't make any sense. Needless to say she was late to her appointment and wasn't happy the way this Garmin worked and said she liked our C320 better. This unit has locked up completely a few times already which requires a hard reset. The reset button is underneath the serial number which is a strange place to have it. Anyway after I removed the serial number label I reset the unit and it's working again but this unit is likely going back to Wal-Mart for a refund. I am a seasoned GPS user and this is my 3rd Garmin product. I'm also a brand conscious buyer and in this case Garmin didn't impress me.

Used the 205w to navigate the maze of streets in woodbridge, edison, rahway, and avenel NJ last week. So good, I had people who lived there all their lives impressed and following me from place to place!

I use my Garmin for work and it already has help me very much. I do wish though that the latest 2009 software update was a bit more accurate. Seems this update is little off as I pass by side streets. It lags a bit after I have already passed the street, maybe by 10-15 feet I guess. Other then this minor issue, I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase and recommend everyone to buy one. Wide screens are a must too.

This is very easy to use and even if it isn't always the most direct route, it gets me there. My only complaint is that the voice can get pretty irritating after a while.

Easy to use. Bought it for my husband's birthday gift. He loves it.
