Sturdy, solid and easy to assemble. The thickness of the table top is 1-1/2 inches. Although there is a hole for the umbrella on the top of the table, there isn't a hole near the bottom, so you will need to purchase an umbrella stand. I have no idea what the finish on the table is, but it was obviously sprayed on after the top was assembled, therefore the slats on the top are "sealed" but the sides of those slats (which are also exposed to the elements) are not. I am trying to find out if I should (1) put teak oil over the factory finish and/or (2) if teak oil is the best way to preserve eucalyptus. So far, I am getting mixed reviews on using any type of oil on outdoor furniture, mainly because of the mildew factor. I would love to hear how others have treated their furniture, and the results. I am happy with the looks of the table and would like it to last a long time.

I live in Chicago and this table looked like garbage after one winter. It is a heavy and solid table. Year 2 I had to sand it all down and restain it. However some of the planks absorbed water and split. For 300 bucks plus stain, I should have built a table.

When we got this table home and took it out of the box. I can see why, all the reviewers gave it 5 stars. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL and the Coloring is too. The price is fantastic. We also purchased teak oil and rubbed all over it. I am very happy I read the other reviews and decided to purchase this table. We will get a lot of enjoyment out of our table for years to come.

I did a lot of on line browsing before making this table my final purchase. My son and his friend put the table together. They were impressed by the ease of the assembly and the quality of the product. Six arm chairs fit comfortably around it. It truly is beautiful and an excellent quality table.

This table is really nice. My only problem is with the chairs. Several of the screws on the chairs are not secure. When assembled they don't screw in all the way or they fall out. Otherwise, it's a beautiful dining set.

After spending several hours online on different retail websites. I found for the type of wood and quality this by far was the best deal. Recived items when I was told the only down fall this item was online only and did not have site-to-store option so I had to pay for shipping. Easy to assemble and very pleased with my set.

We just receieved this and so far it is beautiful! I purchased teak oil and am going to polish the furniture with it to keep it nice from any harsh weather. When putting it together some of the holes did not match up perfectly but with a little thought process I got it to work. Over all excellent!!!

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this item when I saw the cost for the set. But when I was cost comparing, I found the same set for over twice the price, I knew I better grab it. Based on other shoppers ratings and comments, I bought the set. It came as scheduled and looked wonderful when assembled. I did not put it together myself, but the guys who did said it was easy.
I followed the advice to rub it with teak oil and sure enough, it rained as soon as I finished! It held up in the rain perfectly. It is comfortable, sturdy, beautiful, and I've already gotten many compliments on the set.
It is well worth the price and I'm glad I spent it.

I bought this table as a set with four Grampian chairs. My initial impression of this is excellent. The quality of the materials and workmanship, and the ease of assembly are first-rate. The deal on the set was too good to pass up: $466 for the set vs. $298 for the table alone. That made the chairs $42 each, or less than half of what they sell for individually. I wish the set had been paired with narrower chairs. The Grampian chairs (which look great!) are 24" wide. This table is 71" long and 40" wide, so with narrower chairs, I think you could comfortably sit eight (three on each side, one on each end).

This is a great table. Much better than I expected for the price. Solid wood. heavy, and really, really easy to put together and take apart (which I have to do iin order to store it). Everyone who's seen it loves the way it looks and its size. I've oiled it and hopefully it will look as good next year as it does now.

Fairly easy to assemble--Ikea style "hex wrench" connectors. We used Teak oil, as recommended, right away--water beads up nicely. I think that this will keep it looking good. I have no experience with eucalyptus wood before this, but it looks handsome--at least for now. Nice size for out deck. I hope that it is "weather resistant" as suggested.

I looked at similar sets at Smith and Hawken, Crate and Barrel, etc. Those sets were at least three time as expensive, so I thought I would take a chance on this set, since I could have returned it if I did not like it. The set looks great and is extremely sturdy. Everyone has commented on how nice they look and they are very comfortable. When I tell people I bought them at Wal-mart they are shocked. It is also very rewarding to know the are FSC certified, so we are doing our own part to not destroy our forests.
