The product was satisfactory for the price I paid.. I mean it boasted a 1000 song capacity i have gotten 370 max .. but overall it works well the volume control could be louder ... and the fact that its powered by batteries makes it lose some points

This is my 4th Creative AAA-Battery USB thumb drive MP3 player. Together, they are a great family of products.
I still have (and use) my original Creative 128MB NOMAD, the first I bought - and the one that has sold me on the design. I've had it for over 6 years, and won't give it up. Price back then for 128MB with no display and no other great features? About $40. After I bought my wife a 20GB iPod, I noticed she was reluctant to use it. So I bought her a new 512MB NOMAD with a tuner - she uses it more than the iPod - she confessed she's afraid she'll mess up her $250 iPod, but the NOMAD carries enough music to last as long as she wants to wear it, and NO special software is needed to load/delete the music. Wife is sold! And it has a display. I bought it some time back for about $60.
When I decided I wanted a display and more than 128MB, I bought a MuVo 2GB just like this one, and have had it almost 2 years with nothing but smiles. It remains one of my favorite portable electronic devices. So great that I bought two more of them (this time in black instead of white - choices were black or pink) - and they were on sale.
Why am I sold? I'm a traveler who needs something small, lightweight, and affordable (in case it's stolen, damaged, or lost). Also:
> Battery is the ubiquitous AAA - it lasts about 12-15 hours, and when I stop it, it doesn't continue to drain the battery. Since it doesn't require an expensive special battery (most others) or trip to the refurb center to replace it (iPod), this is a HUGE plus for me!
> Features are spartan, but I am looking for something to play music. I wouldn't try to watch a movie on something as small as an MP3 player - I have a laptop for that. Full-featured MP3 players are nice, but really, the screen is too small for videos - so why pretend? As spartan as the controls are, it does WAY more than my car stereo does, since it has bass boost, a modest equalizer, and track tag display, etc.
> USB thumb drive has also saved my bacon when I was "out of thumbs" for carrying work info - it allows me to travel on business with pictures, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel files on there, as well; It has simplified my life by letting me travel lighter. No special cables or software required! USB interface is about as common and standardized as we have these days. I don't see quite as many SD, CF, or Micro-SD slots these days.
> File management plays everything in filename order, so I put it in alphabetical folders and tweak the filenames with letters, numbers, ~tildes, etc - to get them to play how I want them to play (if it matters).
> Traveling DJ!?! When I work, I can plug the computer speakers directly into the 3mm earbud plug and use it like a tiny full-featured boombox. I prefer better speakers, but have used all powered-types with excellent results (only complaints were about the speakers). Also, I have used a 3mm-to-RCA cable to connect to any home stereo, and a 3mm adaptor cable to connect to rental car stereos' AUX plug.
> USB Flash Memory means virtually no moving parts, making it nearly bulletproof; price is low enough that if it DOES go bad, it's not the end of the world.
> Price is really good for all of that! For my uses, it's pretty near the perfect player.
Cons?
> Software is not necessary, in my opinion. Never used it, maybe I don't know what I'm missing. After using iTunes, I am wary of software for MP3 players.
> Earbuds are cheapest ones available, I recommend buying something more comfortable BUT NOT the type that requires so much power that it wipes out the electronics! Shop carefully! I have some small Philips in-ear units that are comfortable to my ears - wife has identical, and they are equally fine for her.
> I recommend the armband and silicone carrier. New ones came without, and I'm wishing they were available.
So, to recap, for an affordable-to-own (buying it, using it, maintaining it over the lifespan of the product) MP3 player that's universally acceptable (direct USB connection with no special cables or adaptors, special chargers, or other requirements) and is about the size of a pack of gum, this one, I believe, is impossible to beat. I have 5 NOMAD/MuVo-family MP3 players around our house, all with different music libraries for different moods/situations. All still work as well as the day I bought them, and 3 of them are well over a year old. We have had 3 iPods (one is MIA - $150 down the drain!) and 1 Motorola M500 (a SMOKIN' DEAL at the Motorola website, though not as great a deal as these MuVos are, due to the Motorola's power consumption, etc).

I like this product. It's a step down from the MuVo TX/FM however (which is my favorite). The only difference is that this one does not record from the Radio. It does record like a tape recorder though. Voice recording is over 130 hours on this small item.

The package steted that the device could hold 1000 song (Based on 4:00min songs) I was only able to download 239 songs. Granted a few were 5 or more minutes there were as many that were under 3:00 minutes.

I bought this mp3 because I wanted something to listen to audio books on. The Creative MuVo series of MP3's resumes playing at the place where you stopped when you shut it down the last time (like a bookmark) so you don't have to waste time scanning an entire book listening for where you left off. Needless to say this is a key feature for those of us who listen to recorded books.
I have another MP3 without this bookmark feature and I have found it to be very frustrating and time-consuming trying to find the spot where I left off when trying to listen to audio books. And who has 13 to 20 hours to listen to a book from start to finish in one session?
The MuVo100 uses AAA batteries, which is nice because you can pop in a newly charged battery without having to wait to recharge the whole player. I recommend stocking up on rechargeable AAA's and making a habit of replacing the battery after each session with a fresh one and then recharging the spent one overnight. Much cheaper than buying one-use batteries (and better for the environment.)
I also like the "wheel" that can be used for reviewing or fast forwarding. It takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it it's a really fast way to move around in the files.
My only real complaint about the MuVo100 (and the reason I can't give it 5 stars) is that after pulling the USB portion out of the player a few times (to load it up with books or music from the computer) the player feels a little "wobbly." The "skin" and attached armband that came with the player makes it feel more secure, but if you aren't able to get the package that includes this, I'd recommend buying one of the skins to keep the connection tight -- an additional expense. Also, with all the buttons, wheels, volume controls, and video displays, it's hard to find a solid place to hold onto the player when you want to pull the USB section out.
Overall, a good product with minor drawbacks.

I would like to start by saying I have owned an I-Pod & Nextar MP3 player in the past. My I-Pod worked great for a few weeks and then just quit doing anything! 6 months later, I got the Nextar MP3 player. It showed my music was on there but then when you tried to play it the player would say no music found! Needless to say, I had given up on I-Pods & MP3 players all together. Over a year after all that had happened my boyfriend wanted an I-Pod or MP3 Player so he could play music in his new car by using the AUX input. I started researching I-Pods & MP3 players for him. I read review after review. I liked the Creative 2GB MuVo V100 MP3 Player right from the beginning. It had over 250 reviews with most being very good. I thought this is the player he needs but he had others ideas. He wanted an I-Pod that played video (sigh) like he was really going to be able to watch video and drive at the same time but whatever. I was going to order him what he wanted but as fate would have it the one he wanted was out of stock so he went with the Creative 2GB MuVo V100 MP3 Player. For a grand total of $40 he got he player, skin and armband. I didn't have my hopes up because of what happened in the past with me and the ones I had but my mind would soon be changed. The music was so EASY to transfer to the player. Just drag and drop! The day he got his we put almost 200 songs on. The sound is amazing for such a little player. The headphones are great! It also worked so well when he used it in his car with the AUX input. He loves it!!! He's so happy he didn't get the I-Pod now. The Creative 2GB MuVo V100 MP3 Player uses AAA batteries which we both think is great because when the battery dies just pop in another one, NO RECHARGING!!! I was so impressed by his that 2 weeks later I ordered myself one and I love mine too. We have had NO PROBLEMS with our players. If you want a simple, easy to use, affordable MP3 player this is the one to get, you won't be sorry!

This is the best MP3. I run and workout and it never broke. I am buying a new one because someone stole mine. My Creative MP3 took alot never broke never had problems. The only thing I replaced was the earphone. Great buy!

Extremely good value for the price. Subcompact and a good choice for an active person who likes to run and listen to music. Be sure to get the armband which came with this product when I ordered it (may have been a special promo). I liked the feature that allows you to put playlists into individual folders, so you can listen to a different playlist depending on your mood. Product installed on my computer and worked flawlessly. I am very pleased and would recommend this product. Also, my husband has an OLD Creative MP3 that is somewhere around 10 years old and it is still working just fine. That says a lot about the durability and reliablity of a Creative Brand Product.

Love it. It's actually more than I expected and at a very reasonable price. I know there are products out there that cost more and have more bells and whistles but, if you are looking simply to be able to arrange, navigate, and listen to your music with a very good sound quality, then this is definantly you choice.

The Creative MuVo 100 player is the best I have used. This makes the third Creative player I owned. I keep giving them to friends who are looking for a great MP3 player thats easy to use. They love this one. Within minutes anyone can use it like a Pro. And why not, its simple and easy with no special software needed to work. Basic plug and play. Got to love that!

This product is super easy to download songs to and it's small size is perfect for taking to work with me. Previously I had another mp3 player with a 20 gb hard drive which was a little bulky and since I only use this at work all the extra hard drive space was wasted. With this I can still get a very generous amount of songs without the waste of a much bigger drive. Excellent product and a good value.

had this mp3 player for less than 2 weeks and it just stopped working. had a brand new battery, never been dropped, there was just no reason i could figure out for it to not work. it just didn't work! i no longer have this product, i returned it to get a different one.

Great product; great price. Use the software to load your music files so that they will be recognized by the player. The WMA format at 64K bit resolution seems good enough for quality sound and allows you to load a lot of music into this baby. Buy some better headphones.

I bought this for my husbands' birthday. He works outdoors and this works wounderful for him he can hear this over the machinery that he works with. It is small enought to fit in his shirt pocket. I love this little MP3 player. This is the 3rd Creative Labs MP3 player I have bought. The first one I bought was the 1GB Nano Plus which I keep my music on. Then I bought the 2GB MuVo 100 for audiobook downloads and have now bought this 3rd 2GB also for audiobooks. The best thing about this player is that it takes a AAA battery so you don't have to wait for it to recharge, you just pop in a new battery and you're set to go.

I Love this product! This is the third one that I own, not because there's a problem with it, but because it's so efficient and useful, and the price! Who can beat it?! It's a 2 GB mp3 /storage device. It can even be used as a flash drive, albeit a small one. My favorite use for it is listening to audiobooks dl'd from the library. Fantastic product! It's plug and play feature is the best! Just plug it straight into a usb port and you're in business! This would make the best gift, paired with JVC gumy earbuds (in matching color of course!)
