Hometrends Rave Square 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Taupe

Started new home and always wanted square dishes. The first test after purchase was the microwave- cups and plates do not get hot to the touch- GOOD THING. They are a bit fragile and prone to chipping. My 3 yr old granddaughter chipped a plate her first use by hitting cup with her plate. Would not recommend in household with young children- they won't survive it. The dinner plates are HUGE. The salad plates are perfect size. I love the appearance, color and shape and accept that I have to be careful to keep them looking good.

I'm up here to order another set.. I bought these in the store, and wished I could have bought another box to make it an eight piece set, instead of a four piece, but didn't have the budget for it. Now I'm up here a year later to order another set. I lOVE these plates. They are so sturdy, and beautiful. They last, and look just like they do on the picture. If your worried about chipping, don't be with these. The ONLY reason they would chip is if you are being careless with them. Like I've said, I've had mine for over a year, and my husband and I can be pretty rough with dishes, especially since our apartment doesn't provide a dishwasher. So one of the plates have been slightly chipped, but is completely our fault.. (If your plates chip just slightly, the inside shows white, but what I have done is just color it in with black sharpy...as cheap as that might sound, you can't see the chip!)

These dishes are great! The plates are huge and the small ones we actually use as regular dinner plates. So, if you're looking for small little saucer plates, you'll have to get something else. The coffee cups are nice and big too.

The colors are actually more of a beigey brownish speckled. The finish is glossy. And the bowls and cups have an almost black matte finish on the inside as do the bottom of the plates. They look nice in an earth-tone decor.

A lot of people say they chip easy but I haven't noticed any chipping. We're pretty careful with our things and I don't have any kids that are old enough to load the dishwasher so I'm not exactly sure on durability.

For $35 you can't go wrong!

I absolutely loved the looks of these dishes. We got them for Christmas this year (2009) and in two days we have three chips and 1 plate break right in half. The chips were from stacking them in the cupboard and the break was while washing it in the sink and having two other plates stacked on top of it. We have had our current set for over 8 years without any breaks or chips (Oneida). Do not waste your money. We just returned them to the store.

This set is beautiful. It looks better in person. I love how they look expensive, but are durable enough for everyday life. It even held up to a 6 year old, and my dog (don't ask). The dessert plates are big enough to use a dinner plates, and the dinner plates are big enough to use as servers. LOL.

I got 2 of these sets for a Christmas gift last year (2008) I also received 3 matching serving bowls and a matching serving platter! I love this set! I only started using it 2 months ago because I was waiting for my new kitchen to be put in and so far I don't have any complaints. I used to have another set in the Rave collection and I knew how badly those plates chipped.... I haven't had any chips yet but I expect to have chips which is why I plan on buying a back up set or two! I absolutely love the look and feel of these plates. I haven't had problems with the dishwasher! For the price and the look and the size... you can't go wrong!

My husband & I had been looking at these dishes for months. After we finally bought them, we were very disappointed. We have only had them about 6 months & after about the 2nd week we already had a chipped one. Now we have several that are chipped. They are very pretty but do have some bubbles on the plates. We had Correlle for years & now I'm going back to it. This product is not worth what you pay for it. LESSON LEARNED!!!

Nice looking and a terrific price. Hopefully these will remain nice after dishwasher.

I bought 2 boxes of these after finally moving into a bigger house so I would have an 8 pc set. Do not buy these plates or anything by this company. Yeah they look great but if they touch each other they chip, if they touch the sink while your washing them they chip, they chip from anything. They are so fragile!! They are plates, they should be made of tougher stuff. They are thick and coated and should be harder to chip. All because I wanted square plates. I want my 80 bucks back.
