The highlight of this model is the 10x Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon optical zoom lens. Digital image stabilization minimizes blur even when you're zooming to 10x. Creative options abound with manual control of aperture, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity and exposure compensation. A high ISO setting of 1600 lets you take photos in low-light conditions without the flash. On-camera picture enhancing features include cropping, a capture grid line display and digital red-eye reduction.

i use this camera for every thing the batteries seem to hold up pretty well and i dont use the special ones.it is a little complicated so if your afraid of that sort of thing this isn't for you.all in all a good camera i just wish the software wasn't such a pain

Received camera for Christmas. Takes great looking pictures, but unfortunately about every 3-6 pictures when you go back to review them-they are gone. It says unrecognizable file format. I sent it back once to have it refurbished, and now have sent it back a second time.

This is my second Kodak, I love it, it is user friendly, and I was able to use the battery from my old kodak as it was a re-chargeable battery. It takes awesome pictures. I am very pleased with my purchase...

This camera is simple but Great! It takes great pictures in Auto and /or MANUAL. The AA rechargeable batteries last a long time and numerous pictures from one set. It is small and lite. The best feature for the price is the 10 x Zoom. This is my third Kodak Camera and so far I am happy with it. I have been using it since Jan 2008 and taken over 400 pictures.

I LOVE my camera! The pictures are unbelievably chrisp and sharp! I took a picture of my dog while he was getting a bath and every drop of water from the shower head shows up. I have become a photoholic! The camera is very strong and sturdy and the different options to use on the camera are fun. I would recomend this to everyone.

My husband bought this camera for me this past christmas and I take it everywhere. Our old camera took too long to take pictures and you could only zoom in so far. This camera can snap picture after picture with only minimal delays and it focuses automatically on faces/objects. It's not small and dinky like some of those hi-tech cameras but it gets the job done. I snap pictures of my son every chance I get. I love my camera.

I received this as a christmas present from my parents...And I could not be more pleased with the results of this camera...I have took many pictures..I even took some at a friends wedding and most of my pictures were just as good if not better than the professional pics that they had paid quite a bit for...This is my first digital camera of my own...I have used other peoples...But I love this one...

I longed for the days when one aimed their camera, pressed a button, and voila, a picture was taken. No advanced degrees were needed to operate your camera. In this day of high-tech cameras and professional looking everyday snapshots, I figured I might as well give up on ever owning or using another camera.
The good news = even a cavegirl like me can successfully operate this Kodak camera (disclaimer: after a lesson from my husband and son). You don't have to use the bells and whistles, but they're there if you want them, and most of the options are very easy to remember how to use.
What's really amazing is that for a camera in this price range, you can create panorama shots. This camera will help you line up three side-by-side pictures to create a perfect panorama shot. That feature even impressed my son that works at GameStop (not easy to do). There are a lot of different lighting features, for example if you're taking pictures in bright sunshine or a dark room this camera will adjust to take the best picture. But remember, if you're a high-tech-ophobe, you don't have to use the numerous features. You can set the camera on one all-purpose setting and go.
I would recommend this camera to anyone.

The Kodak ZD710 is a bundle of camera for the money. It has features usually reserved for much more expensive cameras. I've in the past thought that Canon or Pentax cameras were the only choice when looking for a quality camera. Boy was I wrong. I encourage anyone looking for a digital camera to give Kodaks line of cameras a good hard look. They wont be sorry.

Had to exchange twice

All in all, I am satisfied with my purchase, but it took exchanging the camera twice to get a good working camera. The first camera I had locked up if I tried to take more than 2 pictures within seconds of each other. The second camera would not focus when I used the zoom feature. You would think after having problems with the first 2, I would just return the thing and get my money back. I didn't though, I gave Kodak one more shot. Glad I did, the 3rd camera works great.
One other disadvantage with this camera, I tried using the sd card in my hp printer, and it says the pictures are corrupted. You can only print from a kodak printer, or download pics to your computer and print that way. I was kind of disappointed that this wasn't mentioned anywhere in the manual or in the specs for the product.

This is one of those cameras that might be you either "love it" or "hate it" based on picture quality. I think the picture quality using the "Automatic" setting isn't as good as my Samsung 6.1MP camera, but it looks very good with the other settings and has way more features (perhaps more megapixels doesn't necessarily equal better pictures). I love the face recognition feature, but the best feature is the awesome 10x optical zoom plus an extra 5x digital to boot. Most cameras with this type of zoom cost a hundred(s) more while the popular smaller, point-and-shoot cameras have like 3x to 5x optical at best. I would have to say this a very good value for what you get in a lower-cost, quality camera.

I bought this camera because of the price. The quality was the same as a camera costing almost $100.00 more. I would suggest buy a recharable batter and pack. I did and I have not had a problem with the camera eating batteries. The Zoom is absoutely amazing on this small camera. The picture quality far exceeded what I was expecting. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a great value for a camera that is so simple you can use it straight from the box without even having to read the manual.

I bought this camera cause I had used a lot of Kodak cameras and liked them pretty well but I did not like this. The features are nice but the time the camera takes to process the pictures is really bad. I have tried taking pictures of dogs and kids and every time I take a picture pretty much it has to process it and it takes a long time. I have missed so many good pictures because it has had to process. I don't think I will ever buy another Kodak!
I talked with another guy that loved his and didn't realize that most other cameras do not take that long to process. Watch out!
