The Masterbuilt 30" Electric Smokehouse is an easy-to-use electric smoker that allows you to cook your favorite foods. This powder-coated steel smoker is styled like a refrigerator and has the capacity of holding up to 30 pounds of smoked foods, including treats such as barbecue chicken, jerky, or ribs. The Masterbuilt 20070910 Digital Electric Smoker has a digital control panel that allows you to set the temperature anywhere between 100 and 275 degrees Fahrenheit. You can also conveniently set the timer for up to 24 hours. You must of course be around to add wood chips, but this can be done with ease through the convenient side door. This Masterbuilt electric smokehouse has an internal smoking space of 4320 cubic inches. This smoker comes with four steel wire mesh cooking racks. The 800 watt heating element ensures quick cooking of the most difficult meats.
Did a pork butt roast (3lbs) using Cherry wood chips. It came out really really great. Did a dry smoke and cooking time was 6hrs @ 210 deg. Doing chicken this weekend cant waite.

Bought this smoker because a family member has it & is happy with it. easy to use. compact. loading chips is very easy. clean up can be time consuming but that would be with any smoker. never easy to clean grill grates or anything that gets baked on. I ordered the stand for it and hopefully that will make a big difference as it would be more comfortable if it was taller.

So far so good! I smoked a pork shoulder this weekend and it came out great. I used wood pellets instead of chips because I heard they work well in electric smoker. Only used two cups of pellets (oak) and one charcoal briquette (charcoal added good smoke flavor but this may not be recommended in the manual) during the 6 hour cooking time and it had great smoke flavor any more may have been too much. Last hour wrap the pork in foil and it will come out really moist. Can't wait to try brisket. Easy to put together...just a couple of screws. Be sure to season the smoker before your first use. Wrap drip tray and water tray in foil for easy clean up but not the meat racks because you need them open for airflow/smokeflow and heat transfer. Easy to set temperature and timer. Keep door closed...don't keep opening the door if you can avoid it to keep temperature.

My first BBQ pit that isn't charcoal. Used once today and it is much easier than tending to the Charcoal. Pork Shoulder tuned out pretty good. Dissatisfied it didn't have wheels like my Son's. So, I had to rig my own. Otherwise I'm a Happy Camper at this point.

Leaking
Posted 05/12/2013
You are suppose to attach the drip pan to the back of the unit....it is designed to drain grease out the back. If you are leaking liquid from the waterpan out of the back either your unit is unbalanced which could cause water to spill out or perhaps you tried to move it while the waterpan was in the unit and some liquid spilled out of the pan. I did this by mistake and water did come out the back too.
My friend in Arizona had purchased this product and while visiting this past winter we were treated to some fine ribs and smoked turkey. I purchased this product for my son-in-law for his birthday in hopes of enjoying more smoked ribs.

I've only owned 2 smokers. The first one was a MECO STAINLESS STEEL SMOKER, and was definitely not worth buying. It leaked smoke from EVERY seam, nook and cranny. But this MASTERBUILT one is within the same price range, and is FAR better in EVERY WAY. I especially like the side tray for adding wood chips - makes it a breeze to add wood, without opening up the smoker. I've used it twice already, and both meats turned out EXCELLENT.

Review 10 for Masterbuilt 30" Electric Smokehouse

Great smoker for a change of pace, I been old school charcoal for years and there comes a point when your tired of baby sitting the coals and fire and walking around smelling like smoke, this smoker is nice, set the temp, toss in the food and add wood chips once every few hours or so, when you buy this you will be happy, I hear about the burners and controls going out on these so I bought the Walmart 3 year warranty for piece of mind 19 bucks, it is big enough for a turkey and everything seems to turn out great on this, ribs/ pulled pork/chicken, best BBQ you ever had,buy it and the warranty, when your cooking only foil the bottom drip tray and a small piece of foil on top of the smoker box for easy clean up, don't foil the racks because it will not allow for the air to flow right, this smoker has no trouble holding temperature, I hear people complain about it not getting to temp if you foil the cooking racks it can't circulate air right or hold temp, leave the cooking racks alone and the temp will always be dead on.

So far I've been very pleased with the Masterbuilt 30" Electric Smoker. I read quite a bit about this in other reviews before I decided to purchase. It seems that the chip tray has been updated on these so there were no issues with getting plenty of smoke. I'm new to smoking so it's hard to compare my results to anything else but so far, I've been very happy with the items I've smoked. For the most part, the interior is pretty easy to clean. I would recommend covering the water tray and drip tray and the top of the smoke box (make sure vent holes remain open) and heat shield and handle of chip tray with aluminum foil for easier clean up. Otherwise some of the dripping bake onto these items and can be difficult to clean. I soak the rack in the sink then run those through the dishwasher. The inside you just wipe out with a damp cloth per manufacturer recommendation. So far I've been real pleased but I've only had this item about 3 weeks now, so hard to say how durable it will be. It seems pretty well built.

Review 12 for Masterbuilt 30" Electric Smokehouse
90 day warranty-cheap construction -returned this

I’m trying to assemble the Masterbuilt 30″ 20070910 electric smoker and I’m having a few problems. The directions don’t come with pictures – just illustrations, so it’s a bit hard to figure how things go. (This is from a review I sent to Masterbuilt.)
1. The smoker seems to be at an angle and as you can see in the picture. Is that right? They don’t have closeup pictures so I have no idea how it should look.
2. Where you put in the wood chips, it is not flush to the side, but at an angle. That doesn’t look right. It seems like a lot of heat would escape out the side. At the minimum it looks like it is missing a screw, as there is a hole on the side panel, but obviously no screw going into it.
3. The wood chip area is actually touching the heating element. That doesn’t seem right.
4. This is not shown, but when I try to put in the wood chip tray the bottom metal is forced down at a weird angle and the tray doesn’t fit well into the box. The videos I’ve seen online seem to be able to put the tray in easily. I think my wood tray box is the wrong size.
5. I did not receive the two screws which hold the electronic unit in place.
I have a friend who also owns one of these smokers and he says that mine is definitely defective. Bummer!
I called Masterbuilt and they wanted to send me new parts to try and rebuild the unit. It’s a bit aggravating since it should have been done right in the first place.
Note – I returned this model to Walmart and I’m looking at other options.
Masterbuilt finally sent me a replacement unit after many emails and phone calls. I still haven't tried this new one out yet.

I have been looking for a smoker that would give me a great smoke on meat but was easy to use as well. I am a gas grill guy and wanted the same or similar ease of use aspects from a smoker. The key features that set this unit apart from others for me was the digital panel and the placement of wood chips in the unit. The digital controller enables me to dial in the exact temperature and maintain that temp throughout the smoking process. Adding wood chips is nearly as easy as setting the temp. I love the size and weight of the unit. It is perfect for my use. There will no doubt be comments from die hard bbq folks who will laugh at this unit but for the average weekend smoke user it is perfect. This unit and the use of a good rub has produced some goods eats in the 2 weeks that I have owned this unit based on comments of family and co-workers. I gave the unit five stars as it has more than exceeded my expectations.

Very easy to set up- well, it would have been if Masterbuilt included the screws to attach the digital timer to the smoker. Grrr. Other than that, the smoker was as advertised and produced a WONDERFUL sirloin tip roast in a little less than two hours. The neighborhood was driven crazy by the smell.... :) Well worth the money. Four stars because the screws were missing.

I also had those parts missing - it is aggravating.
I have just had it for a week and have cooked a chicken, turkey breast and a pork butt. All three were wonderful. I loved the easy of using this smoker. I hope it holds up with time.. would recommend this to anyone beginner to expert.. plan on taking with me on vacation.

Review 16 for Masterbuilt 30" Electric Smokehouse
Not a bad smoker

I have been in the market for a smoker for some time now and I have had my eye on this one so I finally bought it a few months ago cleaning it was very easy, seasoning it was the same. It was missing the rear screws for the digital part on top but it does fit snug in two screw holes that have foam in them, after a few times of smoking some vension hot sticks I noticed around the seal it was starting to pull away the black coloring around the edges it's nothing major just wish it would have lasted longer then 3 smoke jobs before pealing, the temp is sensitive it's plus or minus 5-10 degrees it also does need wheels so it can be moved around alot better then having to pick it up to move it.

The only reason I'm not giving this product 5 stars is the shipping and handling was bad. It arrived and the bottom hinge was almost broken completely off and lower edge of door was cracked where someone had apparently dropped it. Lucky for me I was able to fix it so it would work. I know why didn't I send it back well last time I had a defective product from Wal-Mart.com It took two weeks to get replaced and I didn't want to wait that long. Once I got the door to seal It worked great. Ribs turned out as good as I have ever had. Would recommend but get one from a store where you can take it back to the store if there is something wrong.

I just love it! Very easy to use, only a couple of minutes to unwrap everything and put the control on and the tray and I plugged it in and seasoned it. I already cooked a Boston Butt Pork roast. I am going to use this quite a bit......
