I ordered this elliptical in hope that it would run smoothly and provide an excellent work out at home. I was planning on using it 5 days a week. The assembly is terrible, took nearly 4 hours.
Once I turned it "on" it felt like I was running on a machine that is powered OFF. It runs on 4 AA batteries , I mean the description does NOT state this and anyone who has worked out before, knows these machines need juice!
DO NOT buy this machine. It is terrible, and deserved 0 stars.
for spending $300, I would have much rather spend 500+ to get an elliptical of QUALITY and one that runs on an AC adapt.
again, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this machine.

Noisy

This machine I would not recommend. Pros: It is well-built, easy to assemble, and the two stride lengths are a plus. The digital display and the ability to select different levels of resistance is very good; it really can be challenging at times when the resistance level increases. Cons: Despite greasing the joints and then re-greasing it, the machine squaks like a wild eagle chasing its prey. If you can deal with the noise, it's not a bad machine, but I would expect that if you pay for a product, it should work smoothly without having noise. With the exception of the noise, it is a good product and offers some good resistance and stride options.

I've been using this product just under a month. The one main problem I have thus far is that the joints of the machine squeeks way too much. I applied a generous amount of lubricant that comes with the product and it still squeeks. I further applied lubricant spray and it still squeeks. I am only 150 lbs., so I know it's not my weight. In addition, the manufacturer did not properly reem a hole to apply the pedal (step #7). So I had to invert the screw and fasten it. I just hope it doesn't come loose or else it's going to slip out instead of staying put if it was inserted from top to bottom. I check it often. But I still get a challenging workout. The resistance levels are very challenging.

I weigh 150 pounds and used this every day. It made a lot of noise, like a squeaky mattress, and literally broke in month 2 of owning it. 300 bucks isn't "a little" for me to toss down! That is a lot of money! I could've had a gym membership for a year with that kind of money. But this thing literally went through 3 sets of batteries then the metal seaming snapped! It's a piece of junk. Do not buy.

I recently order this elliptical and I had to returned it. It took me 3 hours to assembly and had to return it because of manufacturer defect on the spinning wheel. It was making cracking noise. Had to dissembled it and return. Wasted so much of my time. I'm going to spend a little more to buy a better product. This time, I'm going to do my research to save me time of having to return the product.

Many have noted that this machine is very noisy. This has been my experience as well as it has aged. It eventually got so loud I had to fix the sound or quit using it.
In my case, 99% of the noise was coming from one of the long bolts in the base of the machine. The bolt was moving back and forth as my weight shifted from left to right. I put some plastic washers on both sides (I think most of the noise was coming from underneath by the nut) and cinched it back up tight. It's as quiet as when I first bought it again.
It's worth what you pay for it--as long as you're willing to spring for $1 worth of plastic washers to go with it.

Better than expected - lots of grease...

I was a bit worry with all the negative reviews I saw on walmart.com. This whole experience is better than I expect. I had no problem assembling the whole thing - took me 3.5 hours to do that all by myself (female in her early 30's). I checked the screws and bolts against the manual and assembled each step very carefully (check all the screws against the manual each time I do one piece of assembly). That small pack of grease is needed in 4 places, so use it 'evenly'. I also recommend getting another can of grease (plastic can, about $7, green color grease) from home depot as you need that very soon after using the machine. Once the machine start the "loud noise" that others mention, put some grease on the "joints" and you will be good for another few days of usage. As far as others' comment about machine falling apart, I think it really depends on how well you assemble it. My husband is the main person using it (about 190lb) and he uses it almost 1 hour at a time, almost everyday, and so far so good (we own it for about 1 month). I do, have to grease it every few days to keep the noise level "normal". Overall, I think it's a great product for this price.

The resistance was very difficult when I got it. I checked the troubleshooting in the manual and did the opposite of what it said if the pedals were loose. It is now much easier, but I must not have put it together perfectly because before it was almost silent and now there is a noise. The noise isn't too loud though so I don't mind.

I've had this elliptical for over 2 years and it finally bit the dust a week ago after using it 5 times a week since somehow I broke the metal while I was using it. But while it did work, it was really great! I don't see why people complain that its too tough to push on. anything below resistance 4 is like normal walking or walking on air. I started on resistance 5 for 30 minutes daily, and now i've been able to use it on the highest resistance (10) for over an hour and a half at a rate of 40-45 rotations per minute. This machine helps you tone your arms very nicely too, I managed to burn lots of fat from my forearm and my upper arm. The heart monitor was really bad though, everytime I used it it read in the low 70's during a hard workout. If you want to lose weight or burn more fat, then I really recommend this elliptical, i went from being 190lbs (all fat) -150 (hardly any fat but nice tone to my bicepts and forearms) legs are alot better too.

My boyfriend had purchased this ellipitical for me back a year ago and at that time i was wearing 11/12 and now i am wearing 7/8. i use this 4 times a wk for approximately an hour. The resistance is really good. My complaints about this machine is the squeaking/cracking/popping sounds it does make and i think it goes through batteries about every 2 mths. I just recently joined a gym a month ago just to try out their ellipiticals and find out they were really nice but was not able to burn near as many cals on them compared to mine so i am cancelling my membership and continuing to work out at home.

Elliptical is so noisy, and I hate noise, so it's hard to enjoy exercising on it. Use my ipod to drown out the noise, which helps. Rocks back and forth as I walk/exercise on it. Tried several ways to stabilize it better. Not close to the 250 lb limit. Maybe in time I can figure out how to make it less noisy and more stable.

I wanted this because I have used similar items at the gym. I have a hip injury and all levels are extremely intense and too hard to use. You have to use all your weight just to get the thing going and I am 6-foot tall and average build. I can not keep the thing going without hurting my hip. The ellipticals at the gym are WAY easier to use. Very upset. It is now a clothes rack!
